RDX Factory Service Manual Requests

Likely, but with 118 posts so far and with many more pages to come in the future, do you think anyone is going to go through all of them to see if a job has already been posted. Nope! So we get duplication which means more work for Dave.
That is why you post any job on the initial thread. Easy to find. All in one location. Sort of like the Technical Bulletins.

Dave,
Can you share any parts of the 2nd Gen RDX service manual related to power mirror troubleshooting, including the driver side mirror control and replacement of the 38860-TX4-A01 memory control unit?
Thanks!

Hey Dave,
Thanks for all your great posts.. Looked them all over to make sure you hadn't uploaded this one already.
Want to properly remove my garnish panel covering my 2017 Advance Navigation/Infotainment unit (center unit garnish panel) so I can install an aftermarket CarPlay attachment inline.
Have to unscrew navi/music unit and plug into the back of the Navi unit to do that.
Looked all around for instructions for removing the garnish panel cover without damage.. no luck so far. Pics attached to show what I mean.
The garnish trim I want to remove
Another view showing the end state of what I want to do
Thanks in advance for any help!

Here is the manual that you requested. Hope this helps
Also attached is all the manuals on the auto dimming side and rear view dimming mirrors. In the Auto dimming PDF, it includes all the information on the power mirrors and actuators. Sorry, I got print happy.

Good point Tech, I spoke to astro, the forum architect and he made this thread a Sticky
I asked about the ability to edit the first thread and I would need to send him the information and then he will need to update the first post. That would be too much work so I decided to leave it this way and everyone needs to collect and read thru all the posts.

Dave, Could you post the sections on RDX 2017 Tech Alarm Diagnosis and Repair and or just to disable it. I replaced the hood latch 2 years ago and its acting up again. I shorted out the hood sensor and it still goes off when it "feels" like it. Don't any error codes show up to tell which door triggered it? And, of course thank you for posting this information for us.

The alarm system is integrated into the MICU, TPMS, Gauge Control Module and tailgate module. There is no information on disabling or troubleshooting the issue you have. I think you need to troubleshoot using the wiring diagram and a multi-meter and test light for load testing. If you look on Figure 6 on the wiring diagrams, it has the door switches going to the MICU. You can back probe the connector at the MICU to help figure out which switch is bad. If it is the hood switch that is bad and you have already changed it, then it could be the wire shorting to ground. It would be easier just to run a new wire from the MICU to the hood switch. I do not know if the door switches are view-able as a data PID on the scanner, that could be an alternative method of troubleshooting.

Hi Dave,
Got a B16. Any chance of the Differential Fluid Change instructions or maybe better yet, the Maintenance section which would cover all basic maintenance.
No rush...its winter and cold out. I hate working on a snow covered driveway.

"No worries", In fact you have a good idea and I must task you with a job. Can you go thru all the scheduled maintenance and see what I am missing on the manuals so I can upload them to make a complete maintenance package.

I have all the PDFs that you posted so far, some in my Documents/2017 Acura RDX/Manuals/Service Manuals and then I have a slew that I downloaded after I got back from Oz and they need to be moved to my Documents folder and organized. Within Service Manuals, I sectioned it off into Engine, HVAC, Transmission, etc. Instead of a Maintenance folder. I'll just duplicate the PDFs from each section and place them in the Maintenance folder. The trouble is, what all is in the maintenance section.

ANC and engine sound defeat
I have installed a new subwoofer and amp into the car (2017 RDX). Sounds amazing except to the introduced audio by ANC and the simulated engine sounds. I am aware of the diag panel ANC defeat. It works great, but resets at every start of the vehicle. I want to defeat all of it, either in hardware, or in some way to make the defeat setting persist or find a preamp line that is after the volume control. I am an engineer and would love to see schematics to the extent possible of this system. Thanks so much in advance.

Hello Arjen,
There is no wiring diagram of the actual circuit board for the ANC or Nav unit. That information is not published and is proprietary of Honda.

Dave, do you have anything on the starting system logic? Not so much on the starter itself, etc, but the wiring diagram related to the starting system.
It is for a 2013, not my 2017. Just curious now as to how it works.

And while you're at it... if you could please give me the info needed to help me diagnose and fix a "P2422" error code. That would also be very much appreciated.

I have not been back to work to get the information you guys requested. We had 10 positives and 2 deaths due to Covid-19 at work. Just keep posting what you want and when I get back to work, I will get the information you requested. I have been getting all your requests but I didn't feel like responding, very upset. I didn't want to post such bad news.

Sorry to hear that Dave. You're definitely better off staying at home for now. I know that the wife and I are are staying home bound for now even though our state does not have a mandatory stay at home declaration. Be safe and stay healthy to you too!

Hi Dave, I find it amazing that governments "pretend" to do something about this, yet when you look at Flight Aware, there are thousands of aircraft flying between countries and within countries. How exactly does that stop the spread of Covid-19 when it takes up to two weeks to see if you have been infected. BTW, these are passenger flights with very few being cargo. My commercial student who is Captain on a B787 was working 11 out of the last 13 days (maybe some down time if they are long flights), only one flight was cargo.
Maybe I am missing something?

Hi Tech,
I read an article stating that the airlines must fly routes even with when they are empty because it is a requirement for the CARES funding for the airlines. According to the Cares funding they must fly all existing routes to qualify for the grant money to pay the employees. I also believe that they must fly the routes or the DOT will take their routes and sell them to the highest bidder.
I think our Government is missing common sense.

Well that wasn't an issue when they shut down all airports around the world during 911. If you shut them all down (except for UPS, FedEx, etc), how can they sell to highest bidder? Anyway, not to worry. Less distraction now and my paint booth in the basement is coming along nicely.
As for governments, don't get me going.

Dave,
Whenever you get to it, Id like to request the sections pertaining to the cooled seats. Mine don't seem to be blowing very cold at all.
On a side note, I work at SeaTac airport and there's only ONE international flight coming in today if that says anything for you guys.
Stay safe and thanks in advance.

I just walked out the door at work and saw your request. You asked just in time.
I saw pictures of all the planes parked and stored, very sad. What is even worse is all the people who got sick and the one's who passed.
