Try to fix front wiper problem - need to find the location of relay
Hi Dave,
My 2017 RDX front windshield wiper stops working, I have done the following
1. I tested the wiper motor and the motor is fine.
2. I also replaced the wiper switch, it still does not work.
I guess the next step is to check the wiper relay, but I can't find the location of the relay. Do you have manual to show the location? or a diagram of the relay box? and if you know the part number of the relay that will be a great help.
Thanks,
Stephen

Hi,
Thanks for your quick response. From the circuit diagram, I found the Windshield Wiper Motor Relay (M5) which I need to check. The relay is in the Under-Hood Fuse/Relay box. That box has 17 relays without any labels, with 7 relays on the left side and 10 relays on the right side. Do you have the Fuse/Relay layout diagram? That will be a great help.

Hi Dave 2018 RDX firewall question
Hi Dave,
I am a ham radio operator trying to to install a 2 meter radio and antenna in my 2018 RDX and having a hard time trying to find an extra hole I can use to run my power cables from the battery and the antenna coax cable since I mounted the antenna on the roof. I did find the two wire looms stuck way up in the corner where they are hard to get to and might easily break one of the existing wires and that would cause a lot of issues and probably a costly bill to get it repaired. So if you can tell me where I can find a hole or two would be better because having RF energy and DC current passing so close in the same hole mmay cause some interference. Thanks Dave for your help.

There is no factory service manual for extra hole location and Acura does not provide any data on how to install Ham radio equipment. I do not know where or how you can run your wires. Maybe you can start your own thread and ask other members if they have done this before.
Sorry

Thanks Dave! Do you have a diagram of the hose connection from back of the engine? There is no more leak since the repair. However, I did add
some coolant today. I will keep an eye on it. The engine oil level is normal.
Here is the Cooling diagram you requested.

Hi Dave,
I'm glad you came back to business
Can you share fuse box diagrams for 2013-2015 version?
I'm also looking for brake fluid replacement and valve clearance adjustment instructions (2013-2015). How much fluid is needed? Which fluid is currently recommended (DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 5.1)?
Regards,

Thank you.
Hope you are well and back to work too. I would not know exactly how much fluid you will go thru for a fluid change as the more you bleed the more you will go thru. The manuals does not give a specific amount but it specifies Dot 3.
Good luck and be healthy.

Thank you for the manuals!
I asked about the fuse box diagrams as in the previous post, not the location.
There is information about DOT 3 Heavy Duty but it's probably no longer available for sale.

This is all I could find in the diagrams.
Direct from Honda Service Express
Brake system (including VSA lines) Acura DOT 3 Brake Fluid:
Always use Acura DOT 3 Brake Fluid.
Using a non-Acura brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the life of the system.

You've shared two diagrams for Stephen (2016-2018):
Under-Dash Fuse Relay Box.pdf
Under-Hood Fuse Relay Box.pdf
Are the same diagrams available for the older version?
I just wanted to note that the brake fluid mentioned in the owner's manual is no longer available:
Now only Acura DOT 3 is available (08798-9008A).
And here is some brake fluids comparison: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-rdx-...arison-873329/

Hello Atis
The fuse diagrams for the 2016-2018 were from Honda Express. My friend does not have access to it anymore but I have pulled some info for my 2018 before he left Honda.
The manual access I have is aftermarket and they redraw the schematics to their standards and there is no additional information.
The part numbers are different between 2013-2015 and 2016-2018 for the MICU. I would think that they are the same diagrams except for the additional features they added to the 2016-2018 model refresh.
You can compare your vehicle to the diagrams to see if the fuse location matches.

Hi Dave:
I just got opened the pdf file you posted today. The layout of the coolant reservoir is the right side while it is on the left side of my vehicle (passenger side).
Thanks,

Is there any detail on how to remove / replace the spacer (assuming that it's broken on my car)? Or any photos that show how it's installed or located?

There is no detail on removing it from the bumper cover. It only shows how to separate it from the fender. The body shop just ripped it off the fender and broke the clips. It is sad that they didn't replace them for 3 dollars each.

rear window seal
Hi Dave. If you could, looking for the procedure to replace the, this is acura description," rear windshield dam". It's the thin rubber that goes around the bottom and sides of the rear glass. Mine was damaged by scraping ice off the rear glass in the winter. Thanks for all your help.

The windshield dam is glued with urethane sealant along with the glass during installation. The only way to replace it is to remove the rear glass from the frame.

Dave,
I am having intermittent trouble with my rear power liftgate on my 2017 RDX Advance. It is reporting an error and I have to revert to manually opening and closing.
Can you please provide the diagnosis/repair guide and any wiring diagrams for this system?
Thanks in advance!

I would like to see the procedure for servicing the transmission 2020 RDX. In a earlier post on got the service manual procedure for my old 2018 RDX which I used to change the fluid twice....drain and refill. The 2020 will be a totally different deal. It doesn't have a trans dip stick that I can find.
Thanks

Hello,
Sorry for the delay in the manuals, Been very busy lately.
@comamche250. My aftermarket manuals are not updated yet for the new 2019-2021 RDX's Sorry.
@Mugszy There is no diagnostic test for the rain sensing wipers. Using the HDS scanner I was able to look at the rain sensing wiper pid. With the wiper switch in off it shows off. When switch is in auto it shows detect and when I spray water on windshield it changes to on.
Everyone else, your manuals are attached below.

Glove Box Removal?
Hi Dave,
Could you please post instructions for Gen2 glove box removal? I'm trying to access the passenger side firewall grommet in my '17 and it'd be a whole bunch simpler without the box in the way.
Thanks VERY much!

@Gadgetjq You're Welcome. Luckly I was at work that day servicing the central A/C for the office.
@sqzbox There is no fluid or service interval for the RDX, The MID sets your service interval with your driving habits. I would personally change the transmission fluid every 30k due to the transmission is very harsh on the fluid. Basically Honda transmissions are manual with electronic shift controls. I just rebuilt a 2012 Accord 3 shaft auto transmission.
