Congrats Ruf,
Sounds like everyone is getting early Christmas presents.

Well guys it finally happened, my transmision blew this morning. I was pulling out of the driveway and tried to accelerate and rpms kept reving but i was going nowhere. I live a mile away from Vandergriff Acura so i drove over there very slowly. My rep James was there and he took care of me, much props to Vandergriff . Acura rented me car and now i'm at work. It sucks that the car is a lemon, but with great service you almost can overlook it.

well i'm pimping around in a chevy malibu so if you see a beige sedan reving on you, don't waste your time and let me win, haha

Was there any warning before it died?
How many miles on it?
Any mods to void the warranty?

Nutz,

i really didn't get any warning, it just happened. Reading about the other members transmissions, i knew what to look for and it was bound to happen to me. I got 56K miles on it, it's kinda high after 2 1/2 years, so my warranty had alreay expired. The rep knew about the extended warranty and aksed no questions, he said he'd order a new tranny and call mme when it's done.

anyone elses blow yet? i can just imagine driving on the highway when it goes and trafifc rearending me from behind

Clark, sorry to hear about the tranny. At least you didn't have to worry about being over the 50K miles. I always take my car to James at Vandergriff too, he's always real cool. He's been very patient with me when I show up with all my damn rattles and squeeks.

That does suck! Thank God the extended warranty came out or you'd have a big issue to deal with.

The other good news it that I've heard they finally know what the problem is and have the right fix for it. Besides just slapping another tranny in there. BTW - They won't say what the "problem" really is.

Anyway, what's your odds of having it back in time fior the meet?

I've got 53k in 2.1 years, and just put on the OBX headers, so I'm really nervous about the impending problems. Haven't decided whether I'd try to swap back to stock before bringing it to the dealer or not.

Unfortunately I don't think he was going to make it to the meet anyway. He said something about having to go out of town.

Danny,

You are going to love those Comptech springs! Make sure they get them on the right sides of the vehicle--I heard they have a slightly higher rate on the drivers side (this may not be true...). Your ride will look great!!!

Cheers, Inferno

I just had to get out and toss her around just because I can now. I took my little brother for a spin and made some really hard lane changes at 50MPH and it was totally under control. Ya Baby!

And no more SUV look either. :P

Oh, I forgot to mention that I did some more preliminary research on the WDP Mods II and III. :P

So boys, get your money ready.

I hope to have it figured out, but may not have the cost details worked out by the meet.

The guy thought both Mods were easily do able and had a shop that did similar machine and metal work that we would need for these mods. I saw some of the things he did and they were really first rate.

Anyway, today was promising . . . hear that Inferno.

Movin on up...

Well, I wasn't sure how long it would take, and I really didn't think it would be this easy, but I think I can beat if not hang with a TL-P .

Last night I was cruisin down Coit near the putt-putt and I slowly pulled up next to this very clean 2k2 Black TL with a kit. It looked dropped and the thing was debagged. His windows were very dark so I couldn't see the headrests to tell if it was a Type-S or not, but I seriously doubt I could keep up with a Type-S. Didn't get a chance to look at his rims so there again, I don't think it was Type-S.

Anyway, we're cruisin and I hear him push the petal a little bit and pull up a bit then slow down. YOU KNOW IT'S ON NOW ! So we played around for a while and I have to say I did really well. We didn't get any off the line trials because we were about 150 yds behind traffic.

Just thought I'd scare the few of you that are stock
I'm movin up in the Acura killin status lol

Nice Casper, we'll see for sure when we hit the track. I think CL/TL-P run about 15.5s depending on weather of course.

If you put your stock wheels on you'll definitly add to your time. Hopefully you still got good tires on them...

That's CLS-D, he goes to school there. I've met him a couple of times, he's got one sweet ass setup.

The rubber on my stock rims is in pretty bad condition. I'll get better 60' with the 19s on because they have much better traction. Either way, I lose.

Well I put my new PIAAs in my fogs and one for the licence plate, but I haven't had enough patience yet to try and figure out how to take the covers off the interior lights. Anybody have experience in taking those covers off, I don't really want to just start pulling on stuff and break something. I'll post some pics when I get it all done.

o yeah guys, I scratched the lower front driver's side of my bumper when I rolld into a curb while trying to back out of a parking space. So my car mask is on now and I'm stupid for hitting a curb. The scratch is pretty bad but it's kinda low so difficult to see. I need to have it sanded down a bit and repainted but no money as of right now. OH! and I sold the nitrous kit I got. Can't wait to get the money and save up for another Yorkie.

Thanks Casper, but I went ahead and just started prying stuff off. I put a blue light in almost every spot too. I didn't do the reverse lights though, just because I never see them, so I didnt' care. I'll post some pics when I get home. I think it adds a nice touch to the interior. The map lights don't seem brighter, they're just a different color now, but the dome light is really bright white now.

Go to the pound or the Humane Society and save some $, and a dogs life. They may not have yorkies, but they still have cool dogs there.

Casper, I got a little project for you, if you don't mind. As I mentioned I installed all my Piaas, in the interior and the fogs. Well, I showed my aunt and she really likes the way they look, and wants to do the same to her headlights and fogs. And she has a 98 Maxima SE. So I was wondering if any of your Max buddies know what lights she would need. Thanks a lot.

Ok, here's some pics of my new lights. My camera wasn't taking good pics last night, but you can still see what they look like.

Comparison: Right is new, left is stock.

Both new

Map lights comparison

Dome light

I also changed the ones in the doors, but didn't take a pic.

Wow! My knowledge being in any form useful on THIS forum...!?!? That's crazy...

Headlights: 9006
Clearance Lights (corners next to headlights): 1156
Bumper Lights: 1156 & 194 (peanut bulb)

I don't know what the Fog light bulbs are, but i'll find out.

Casper, I found this page with the 9006 lights. Do all those on that page work? There's 3 PIAA pairs there alone, super whites, 51w xtreme whites, and 55w xtreme white.
