All those pairs will work, they each just put out a different color. The numbers I provided above are generic sizes. All bulb manufacturers follow generic sizes that auto makers use. Domestic and import don't matter. There are like 10 different size bulbs.

Hey Mantis,

Played with another Vet

The guy was being a jerk and kept tailgating me and pulling up to my bumper at the lights. I didn't really want to mess with it, but when we got to a light with no one in front of us (and I saw it was and older tired Vet) I decided to oblige him. Well after holding him off to about 70, and he quits jacking with me after that.

I think it was a -2 gen, similar to what tangled with that time.

Danny,

Those look great--and very informative photos. They really show the yellow vs white look of the old/new bulbs. Good job!

I have the Xtreme White PIAA's installed--did you get those or the Superwhites? I can't remember.

They are much easier to install than I thought--no trouble at all. Do you like the interior light change out? I only did the fog lights (now driving lights!).

RUF, did you hear from Dean? I haven't yet...

And when you say "in" do you mean "in" as in "in route" or "in" as in "in the engine bay?"

I wanna be in the "in crowd..."

I was just "in" Virginia and do they have great roads northwest of DC: lots of smooth, banked twisties and great hills. Too bad I was in a Dodge "In" Sipid ("In" Trepid?) that leaned like a boat and accelerated like a tank.

Wish I had been "in" my car out there...

No, I've not heard from Dean yet about the Ice Box for our cars. I was refering to my ice box in the garage, 19+ cf for drinks. :P

I was really trying to get a reaction out of DZ for trying to get Dean to ship to him before us.

Sorry if I got you all wound up.

But we diffinately need to discuss the WDP II and III mods when we hook up. Depending on costs, it sounds good.

Also, I busted a rear end link and had to put some more teflon tape on the rear sway. I hope that's the last of my probs with the new mods.

We also need to sync up on meeting up Friday.

Well, Danny and I just hooked up all day while he had his springs installed. While they were being installed, we managed to cram those new spark plugs in there. Man, that rear bank is a bitch! But they're in and good to go.

No more 4x4 for Danny! That drop looks soo much better. I'll post up pics we took later.

Thanks to Mantis' allowing his car to be experimented on, we figured out it is possible to do the spark plugs yourself, but damn it's a bitch!

Here's some pics I took. Yeah, I know these pics look like b4 the spring install because Mantis' car is slammed compared to mine, but they are the after pics.

I LOVE mantis' lower grille all painted silver!

You guys will have to give us the scoop on it next weekend.

And Yippee on getting the spings installed.

Sounds like we'll have all our mods done, except for that darn ice box. The only good news is that I'll have a baseline dyno done before I start with the speed mods.

Yeah, I also got the PIAA Xtreme whites. The fogs look so much better now. They don't match the HIDs perfectly, they're a little bluer, but much better than yellow.
And I also really like the interior light change too, I don't know how to describe it, but it just feels cooler with all the bluish white lights.

Yes I'm proud of you for sticking to the books.

I am disapointed that you've read too many car magazines ragging on US cars. While in general they've been less reliable, I've owned several, and several have had over a 100,000 miles on them. Two had over 150,000 and 2 have over 200,000 miles on them.

By the way, the 64SS Malibu I had, had over 200,000 and would have eaten your lunch. :P
With street tires it did 0-60 in 5 secs, 1/4 in 13.7s at 101. With cheater slicks it did 12.5s at 108MPH. Traction really sucked on that car as I had way more HP than street tires could handle.

Not sure what happend there . . . I think slow server response resulted in a burp of sorts.

Anyway, I just saw the long range weather report and let's hope it hold up.

mid 60's for a high, with lows in the 40's. Great for racing

Inferno,

I did a pretest for the WDP Mod II application. I think we can go 5/16" or 12mm without a real problem. There may be one minor hood mod that we want to make to be sure.

Now we just need a guinee pig. I wonder who would be interested. I do need to get some costs first before we jump up and down. Also, WDP Mod III is also doable.

We just need to work out something on a spare part because I would like to dyno it in phases.

Danny, how does it ride? Did you have new shocks installed too?

I miss the way my car looked before, I just wish it did not ride so bad (bottoming out). I was going to get air ride when I get paid for this website I did, but the wife is pissed about it. Since I installed springs and ended up pulling them off, she is not to keen about me screwing with the suspension again, let alone the cost of air ride. It sems to be the only way I can get the best of both worlds, the drop I want for around towning, and lift it back up for smoother, highway driving.

I guess I just need to wait, and try again later. Maybe she will change her mind. Until then, I fricking hate the 4x4 look (but like having the ride back on 360), and dream about the switches....

In memory....

If the springs added any harshness to the ride, I didn't notice at all. So far I haven't scraped anything, and I have noticed a little less body roll, but it's hardly an improvement. I think I was expecting too much from some of the reviews I've read. Now I need the sways. But I'm completely pleased with the end result. And no, I didn't change the shocks, the only have 11,000 miles on them.

Have you ever considered coilovers? I think it would be cheaper than air bags, and you can adjust the height to a good compromise of looks and ride.

That's one good looking 1st gen. I used to live in those townhouses too.

Well, I can get the air ride for $2,200. That's the high end cylinders, acumulators, larger pump, larger tank, better valves, etc. That setup normally runs 4k, but I am getting a deal (for helping him out with some other stuff). He has a setup for around 1400 too which has the normal stuff, but I want acumulators for the softer ride at middle height.

Coilovers won't give me the instant ride height adjustment I am looking for.

Yeah, coilovers are a lot harder to adjust, but if you find the right setting for looks and comfort, then you don't have to mess with it again. But the air ride would be pretty cool.

Well guys, just to let you know, the Nissan guys and I had a meet this weekend and damn was that fun.

We met up at Lovers & Greenville around 5:30. There were a couple sweet looking rides . Afterwards it was off to Mondos (restaraunt behind the Galleria - very nice actually). Now to give you guys and idea, there was a 300ZX with a nice mod list, a fresh 240SX S13 with the SR20DET swap, and just a line of about 5 Maximas. Let's just say that the "idea" was to keep the line tight all the way to the restaraunt. That didn't happen . My 100mph mark was hit a couple times on both 75 & 635.

At the restaraunt, we met up with the Dallas chapter of Topnotch Racing (some national racing group based out of Cali). They had some nice rides and we had around 30 to 40 cars total. They had one guy video taping our group rolling in and a couple people taking pictures. hehe, I got caught on tape rolling up to the event bumping . God Bless my stereo

All in all, we had a great time. I did some "advertising" for next weekend and I can't wait. We should have such a blast.
