I got it...Hmm, I wonder if -1.0 thru 1.0 is really the camber range for the CL? I question whether its the same as the 1999-2000 TL, but ya never know. I wonder where we can find that out?

Does anyone know if they make a vtec controller for the cl-s? does anyone know if that is worth getting, i know that you can control when the vtec kicks in, but does it really add any horsepower or in general make the car faster??

Yes they do Hanzie. Here is a thread where Astroboy was talking about how worthless it was. He said it was cool to set the vtec early, but it really doesn't help much. at most he gained 2-3 hp.

yeah it's completly worthless for our cars. Even the guys at the

Only thing I can say is either their cars aren't running at a high effeciency, so it does more for them in terms of effeciency. According to Astro, we are @ 95% effeciency. Or your bro and his friend may be bending the truth a little.

I suggest you wait for MM and RES to come out, thats what I am
doing, or save up and get the headers...

I think that pullies are not safe, and worth the money when all
you gaining is 4-5hp...

Mystery Mod & RES are synonomous. Its supposed to be some plate that covers your engine cover. I have no idea how its supposed to work.

I would have searched and posted a thread for more info, but there are so many threads about RES its kinda hard to pick the best one. Do a title only search for RES for more info.

Nobody knows for sure what they are(MMI and II) but we are promissed to be informed and supplied within next 2 months, fingers x-ed....
I think ReS bolts on under the engine cover and supposed to distribute the air coming in from the intake more efficiently resulting in hp gain...Thats how I interpreted the explaination given on this board. As far as MMII goes, there are speculations that it's an electrical device that plugs in to the engines computer,
suppose to be benificial 2 for extra hp gains ...
People are saying that these mods put together will add 15 horses at the wheels. Will see

I've had it on one of my previous cars back in 98.
It a Jim Wolf ecu controlled 75 shot nitrous a dry kit on a 95 Maxima SE...
My ECU was set to two programs one for regular driving, second
for nitrous, and it activated simply by flipping the switch.
Man it was a lot of fun, I never took it to the the track but I was
running against car which ran 13s and kept up, like Z28's and Cobras...
Man, it was a lot of fun, kind of like a second wind to the car by simply hitting a switch flooring and off I went.
Now, I dont know if I should put it on again, I dont race that much
and plus I drive a luxury car, dont know if I want to cross over into the sports car field. Also, I see a bunch of kids in Plano with Civic and Integras running NOS, I call it post Fast and Furious renessaince. Dont know if I want to get down to their level. What do you think?

get nitrous if you want a problem with the tranny, although people like me and my girlfriend sarah, already had tranny problems without even using nitrous. I just don't think the tranny will hold up with nitrous. I think nitrous is great, cheap, and fun, my bro had nitrous and so did some of my other friends back in high school. Its a great route to go if you really wanna go out and beat people. My friend had a 99 Integra GSR, put wet shot, direct port in the intake manifold, and pilled it to a 75 shot, and the result was a blown motor, that acura black flagged. I personally, am not going that route.

I've had a lot of upgrades on many differrent cars but nothing gave me so much power as nitrous did...
I dont know wheather to ruin a luxury for that 2 minute thrill of the bottle. Uh, screw it, for now at least....

Mantis, drove the G35 yesterday. Check out the post under Car Talk.

Also, the peak HP gain from the RES is arounf 16HP (Type S's) and 15HP for the MMII (electronic device). They are not sure what the net of both devices will result. Is it 30ish or some smaller percentage.

Anyway, neither will be out in time for 4/12.

4/12, the day at the races that is . . . and I'm not going to be able and make it. WAAAAAAA . . . . Sob

Is there by chance another date that would be of interest? If so let me know.

And Happy Easter All.

Hey RuF, nice review on the G35.
Hey, where did you read about the gains on the RES? (I'm assuming the TL board off the bat, and I'm going over there to check after this post.)

Whoah nice gains for those bolt on mods. Can't wait to get my hands on the RES. From what I remember, I think I read that the headers will adapt to MMII. Meaning its one or the other or not both, hopefully I can get some clarification on this over on the TL board.

As far as the April 12th thing, that's cool. I'm still going, I've got about 3 of my buddies who are still interested in going. Check your schedule and see if Friday April 26th will work for you. I know schedules are always subject to change.

If anyone else is interested hitting the track on April 12th cvome on down, it should be great fun.

Mantis,

Here is the quote from the TL site.

"The RES is realated to the air intake and resonance. It gives you an average of 12hp and a max of 16hp and an average of 11ft tq and max of 15ft tq on the entire RPM band for the TL-P. For the Type S it gives you an average of 18hp and a max of 21hp and an average of 16ft tq and a max of 18ft tq on the entire RPM band. All at the wheels.

The MMII will be price about $200. Is an electrical device and it will give you about the same gains of the RES (above).

PS: Not 100% acurate on the TL type S numbers, just what I remember. The TL-P numbers are acurate.

PS: Don't ask me about gains together with CAI or headers, but the numbers will probably improved, but I don't have the numbers since it hasn't been tested yet."

I did mine off of memory, so I guess I wasn't too far off.

G35

RUF,
What Infiniti dealership did you test the G35 at, and how many did they have? I'm going to have to take another look at that car in person.

Danny,

I went to Crest Infinity in Plano. West side of 75, south of Parker Rd.

They had 7 on the lot as of Wednesday. And they are moving fast.

This is Mantis's Roomate (Deathlok). He called to let me know that he apparently left his car in another county after partying a little too hard tonight and won't be able to meet up with you tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

Have a nice day.

That was me. The area Amsoil rep did sell me a case at $4/qt. This was for him to make a quota because he hadn't sold any in a while. I am trying to set up a program were we can group buy and get it for closer to $5/qt if bought by the case (12qts). Taxes will apply because I have to pick it up at their Arlington warehouse. I am a full time Aeronautics engineer and not doing this to make money; it's only to cover cost and give us all a break from shipping cost of low volume orders.
