Hey mantis,

Where are the top of your rear struts? Are they under the rear dash? Are those zeals adjustable at the top of it? I was looking at mine, and i didnt see that the strut goes in the trunk, but it looked like i'm gonna have to rip out the rear deck to get to it

The top of the rear struts are behind the back seats. Only the damping rate is adjustable on the top of the struts.

On the Zeals, to adjust the height of the car in the rear, you need to raise the car on a lift, or jack it up. There is a wrench that came with the zeals, and you turn the 'crank' to raise or lower the ride height.

To adjust the damping rate in the rear, you have to take out the back seats. The knobs that you see in those pics are the damping adjusters for the fronts. The rear damping adjusters are behind the seats in the rear.

Does that make any sense / answer your question?

Yeah, my tokicos have little knobs at the top of the shock to adjust the dampering. The fronts are easy cause they are exposed under the hood, but the rears, im not sure yet exactly where the top of the strut ends up. so, is it in the trunk or in the car? Im confused hehe sorry

Hehe, can it be both? I guess you could say its in the car since you have to take out the seats to get to them.

Hey, I'm assuming by these posts that you got your suspension installed. Post some pics dude, I want to see your ride!

nah,
I havent gotten it done yet, this friday night though, hehe, by the way, your ride is awsome. So, you have to literally yank the top of the rear seats out, or all of it, bottom and top sections of the rear seats?

I wasn't there for the installation myself. But, from what I was told by the guy who installed it, you have to rip out all of the back seats. There is also a guy on the TL board who has the Zeal B2s, and he said he had to rip out the back seats also.

THAT SUCKS!! Only cause i'm lazy. Plus, i will have to find the right setting for the rears as far as dampering. Have you adjusted the rears on your car yet? In other words, have you ripped out the back seats in your car?

Nope, I sure haven't. No time to play with it yet. I'll probably get in there this weekend. I'll also raise it a bit. The camber in the rear doesn't look so hot. I need those tires to last for at least another month and a half until I get the rims. They are pretty bald right now. :P

Long live sport...

Yep, we're still on. I'm busy as hell at work, so I can probably only stick around for an hour...(including lunch).

SRS light is stuck on, and I needed my rotors resurfaced & rotated. Tried to see if DMD would install the brake lines, but they wouldn't.

Ohh well, time to do it myself, or take it to the race shop. <SIGH>

FYI I got the green Integra for a loaner with the sweet loaner stickers on the front and back. I'm badass baby! You can't touch me and my v-tec!

DMD hooked me up. Rotors rotated, new brake pads, fixed SRS light. All for free. I'm really suprised they didn't charge me for the pads. Customer Service was excellent.

DMD = in my book.

That's great news.

Lunch was good the other day as was the little bit of fun we had running each other.

Anyway, after riding around the loop in your car I've decided that suspension mods are tops on my list. As are your seats, CLS seats that is. I'll have to see if they are a clean swap or if they require mods.

Have a great weekend and I'm looking forward to a track event.

Well, as for hitting the track, we basically have 2 options.

March 29 - Fast Fridays
(More of a high schooler thing)
gates Open @ 6
Open Time Trials 7pm - midnight
http://www.texasmotorplex.com/raceinfo1.php?race_id=2&

Or

April 12 - Ultimate Street Night
Gates open @ 8
Open Time Trials 9pm - 2am
http://www.texasmotorplex.com/raceinfo1.php?race_id=3&

For both:
Racer Entry $15
Spectator Entry $8

Scoreboards will be off, but time slips will be on. Only concern is, since the Ultimate Street Night has been cancelled for tonight due to threat of inclimate weather, the first night time racing event will be March 29th. Meaning it will be VERY crowded.

CLS-D & RuF87, or whoever else may be interested, pick a date, and we will head down there. My vote is for April 12. I've got 3 buddies that will probably go along with us:
2002 Mustang Bullit
Cobb Spec WRX Wagon
Saturn SL2

ss brake lines

Mantis,
Where did you get your ss brake lines? I couldn't find any from Goodridge for a 2nd gen CL, just some for the 1st gen, part# 20081. Do these work on our CLs also? And how much did they cost you? Thanks-

Hi Danny,

I bought the brake lines from a CL board member (blxmjx) on this thread this thread http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...ight=goodridge

He sold them to me for $100 bucks via paypal. He started with 6, but after just checking, he has already sold his last set.

I'll check on the part number when I leave work and let you know what it is when I get home.

I'm not sure where else you can get these. I'm sure blxmjx will be more than happy to give you some hints on where to pick up a set.

Re: Re: ss brake lines

Hmm, I didn't really see a part number on the box... and I saw that part no #20081 you were talking about. I would think those would work, but I honestly can't say for sure. I'll keep looking around and let ya know if I come across something.

Ok guys, check this out!!!! hehe, i got my car dynoed while i was in Houston at Carboy. Let's see if i can't post this damn pic. Oh by the way, i hit 209.2 Max horsepower on the third run after the car cooled down. The First two runs was done when i first got there, so she was kinda hot. And the max torque was 185.2 i think whatever its the blue one hehe. After i did that i remembered seeing somewhere on this site or the TL site that some guy dynoed a stock TL-s and hit 200.2 max hp, so that means i got an amazing 9 hp from my cold air WHOOHOOO!!!

Argh, accidentally deleted what I had typed in, any way, Your ride looks tight! How do you like the ride? Better? Worse?

I can't believe you got a 209 max HP on the dyno with only a CAI. I've always disregarded them b/c I thought them to be a useless mod. But now I see the light.

Hey is that a red 2s000 in the background? Does a friend of your own it?

I love the ride, it is sooo much better, im takin turns like a mad man and dont even have the sway bars yet. The s2000 is my dad's, i had it a while back, and met up with Duck Blue at one of the failed meets a long time ago. How do you like your car mantis? I bet it rides ten times better than mine heh. Did you raise it back up?

Yeah, i was totally suprised with the results of the dyno. I thought when i got the AEM cold air, it felt like it slowed my car down, but then again, i raced a black cl-s last weekend in plano that had blue side markers and the blue fog lights like mine, and i beat him by like half a car length. I think his was totally stock, so thats about right. the 9 hp will put me about half a length on a stock one which it did heh

Hehe, I love turns now. I'm taking them a HELL of a lot harder than I used to. There is still a definite need for antiroll bars though. Just out of blatant curiousity, and you're the only person I know who has driven them both considerably, how does the CL compare to the s2k? I'm not really looking for details. Just mainly straight line acceleration & handling.

I really like the Zeals. Stiff as hell though. When I get above 70 and start hitting 'dips' in the road, my head rattles. But its all good.

I haven't raised it yet, but I definetly need to. I'll probably wait till the rims come in before I raise it.

well as you may know the s2000 is quite a sportier car than our cl. Then suspension is outrageous stock!!! I love it, it is sooooo tight anyway you dont care about that. I actually raced an s2000 in my car and beat him. It was some dorky kid in houston, i dont think he could drive it. I had a full tank of gas which i consider one whole person plus two other guys with me in the car, the kid was by himself, and i was dead even with him. So i considered that beating his ass. That was also when i didnt have the Cold air intake, which now is a big difference hahahaha jk. Basically, our cars have alot of torque (off the line) low end power. The S2000 on the other hand has almost no low end power, that is how i was able to beat him, the car is dog slow off the line, unless of course you beat the hell out of it and rev it, and ride the hell out of the clutch. On the highway, TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY!!! Forget about messing with an s2000 if you are going about 70 mph or above, that car is all high end horses. Once that car gets about 5000 rpm, there ain't no stoppin it heh. We just installed the AEM COLD Air on my dad's. Before, when you take it to 9000 rpm, it was screamin loud, now its alittle louder, didn't quite make it louder as much as it made mine louder. So, Basically you can take an s2000 from about 0-70 mph as long as you get a good launch. after that i would quit if i were you. I liked it alot though, i almost decided to buy my dad's off of him instead of getting the cl, but i figured the cl was more useful, cause its small in the s2000. Does my rambling help you any?? Sorry
