Zeal Function B6s came in today.
$190.00 for the installation.
$60.00 for the alignment.
I don't know if that is expensive, but the fact that I showed up @ 8:00pm, and the race shop took my car in with no hassle has got to be worth something. I pick it up tomorrow.

As for flamers, no worries here. I know that there are none believers about all sorts of things. :P
BTW - don't read too much of it though. I give a short lesson on drag racing to the rookies out their.

He installed my roommate's coilovers & brake kit overnight also. He does really good work. He officially opened up a small race shop about 4 months ago. If you want more info for your suspension mods, I can get his number for ya.

a.) Shift Gate
b.) SS
c.) D3, D4, or D5
I tried using the shift gate just for fun today, and it feels a lot better going into second now.

Hey Mantis, congrats on the Zeals, they must tight as shit?
About the rims, I am going overseas next week I'll see if I can find anything there...
If not I will probably place an order when I come back.
As far as deciding whether to go with BR5 or Muse, think that I will
flip a coin
BTW, do you know how much the Br5's weight?

While you're over there, pick me up a set of Lowenhart BR5s, and some cute chicks to go with them. (1 for each wheel obviously)
The 19x8 BR5s weigh roughly ~35 lbs.
Yes, they ARE heavy mofos.
The stock rim & tires weigh ~52 lbs (26 lb rims, 26lb tires, I'm sure you already knew that)
The Lowenhart / Toyo T1-S setup will weigh ~57 lbs (~35 lb rims, 22.7lb tires) So I'm gaining about 20 pounds total, and I'll lose a hell of a lot of cornering ability. Ohh well.
When I go down to the Ennis track or whereever, I'll probably put the stocks back on just for racing.
ISCLAIMER: If an Acura Service Rep is reading this, I was just kidding about the whole racing thing, honest!
Keep us updated on what you decide to go with!

You think I can fit all that in a suitcase?
Damn, those mf are heavy!!!
But on the other hand they look tight, so do the math
Do you really plan on going to the track? I haven't taken my CL
out there yet...Would be nice to go though
I am wondering, what I can run...

Get a bigger suitcase? :P
I've been to the track in Denton a couple of times. The best I ran on the 1/8th mile track was 9.860
http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...860#post662240
Yes, I plan to go to the Ennis Track at least once just to see what I run in the quarter. The first time it was open this year(Feb 2nd I think), it was wayyy over crowded. The Friday night races start next weekend. I might try to head down there then.

If so, we might need to have a mini meet down at the track in the near future just for shits and giggles.

I've been driving that way pretty much from day 1. I personally don't like SS mode, and as for leaving in auto mode I only do that when I'm just cruising on the highway.
I've done some personal testing and even though one could argue that it's not an exact science I found that manual mode produced the best times by up to a 1/2 sec.
We should hook up someday for lunch in the area and I could show you some other tips.

I am game...
I think that I had a break-through in thoughts on the rims this morning.
I've decided to go with with Axis Muse, and put the rest of the Money into an Accord supercharger which is coming out at the end of March. Just have to find someone who can do a custom install on it
What do you think about this?

Got my B6s installed today.
OMFG
They rock like you wouldn't believe.
I have the fronts set to 1 (softest spring rate), and the rears set to 3.
It has a little more bounce to it, but feels pretty much like stock, except for when it comes to taking corners!
I'll post pics tonight. I've got an assload of work to do right now though.
It was dropped about 2-2.5 inches.
I'll probably need to either raise it a bit, or look into a camber kit. My rear camber is at about 1.8 degrees.

Let me know what days look good for the two of you. I'm working in the Plano area, what about you guys?

Mantis, how much do you really loose on cornering and ride comfort with BR5's...
If you get them does that mean that you are gonna be driving 20
mph and feeling every bump along the way?

Acura has a pretty good showing, they have a few TL-S's out, and a few CL-S, A silver one and a black one I think. There
was no 6 speed, so I was disappointed at that. They didn't
have any other prototypes or anything fun. But they did
have quiet a few cars on display.
The best cars of the show:
New Hundai Tiberon : Seems like a lot for the money, in the
category it is in. It looks heaps better than the previous
body. The only thing I don't like is the gills it has behind
the front wheels.
BMW 745 IL, or Li , Probably the sweetest 4 door production
car ever made. YOu have to see the interior of this thing,
it has gadgets and gizmos out the wazooo.
Lambo Diablo: They had a silver and Yellow one
Nissan 350Z: Looks good. I bet it will handle really well.

What's up with the snow in 2002? I mean, we ARE in Texas right? This stuff isn't supposed to happen down here.

Hey mantis,
I noticed on your site, that your fogs aren't on with your headlights. Did you wire a switch, or have someone else do it? If you did it how hard would it be for someone with no experience? If you got it done some where else... where at, and how much?

Heh, Actually the M6s came loose, and I need to reseat them. I had just noticed that when I was taking the pictures.
One of them fell down into the housing when I was trying to reseat them.
But I think Hanzie might have the connection on who can help you out in that department.

Mantis,
I noticed you have the same OBD-II set up I have. It would be
interesting to some time make a base line comparison file. Your CL-S and my TL-S. before and after mods would be interesting to.. I'm trying to figure the best way to get a motorized screen on the dash.. I want to link the OBD II display, MP3, and DVD all to a in dash lcd.. I've noticed a lot of displays on ebay for around $100 for a 5.6" and $220 for a 7" widescreen
just some random thoughts

Heh, I have the EXACT same thing in mind. The PioneerAVX7000? (I think that 's it) fits really well in non-navi CLS & TLSs. I haven't done serious research on the screens yet. But I'll have it in permanently by summer. Right now, its just plug and play with the laptop.
What kind of software are you using for your OBD-II setup? Getting a comparison before and after mods will be cool (not that I plan on doing many speed mods).
