Hell, it almost took my tires just as long to get here as the rims...
I just picked them up from Discount this morning.

Sorry for not resizing to an even smaller size.
The original images were damn near 2 megs @ 2560x1920

Pretty tires, but no rims yet.

However, by then I'll have some mod that will result in wheel spin all over and Mantitis disease will set in again.

Oh well. It's either that or drive like grandma. :P

BTW - Not sure what tire I'm going with as I'll stay with stock rims.
I'm thinking of Bridgestone Potenzas right now. Good price, stats and mileage warranty of 40,000. And my local Firestone guy has always taken care of me when it's time to get them adjusted.

That's some serious meat your putting on. Plan on pumping up the HP and handling?

Yep, that works just fine for me.

I could do with another one of those sandwiches. Slurp.

Just let me know what time works for you. I've got 11:30-1:00 penciled in to hold the slot open for me.

And Jacobzking, we are talking about Cafe Brazil, I think. It's on the west side of Central Expressway just north or Campbell.

Zat right Mantis?

BTW - there's a silver IS300 with exhust and intake running around here looking for some fun.

He made an illegal turn to catch me and pulled on front of me at a light.

Man was it embarassing. He got the jump and I still pulled around him and showed him the nice backend of a WDP TLS.

If I were him I'd get a smaller exhaust tip and lose the Ingen logo on his license plate. :P

I've decided that the CL-S really isn't a race car. Its more of a touring edition. When i get the rims on(if I ever get them on), I'll prety much cut out all racing/driving fast. I'll have somethin' else to fulfill that need.

I'm lookin' for a cheap audi avant wagon. If I can get my hands on one of those, then I'll be set. But they are so fuckin' hard to find

I hear ya.

I've still got my 64 Malibu SS sitting (rusting away) over at my brothers shop. My 9 yr old asked when are we going to start working on fixing it up.

I knew getting him and his brother down to Ennis would pay off.

But I'd still like just a wee bit more out of my TLS. I was really hoping the RES I and or RES II would come out, but I guess not. I'll have to see what else will work. The challenge is keeping it looking stock and sounding stock.

Cool.

I won't be in the CL though. When I got in the car this evening to go home, my check engine light, and both of my VSA lights were stuck on. The car was also idling funny, fluctuating between 700RPMs and 1100RPMs. It sounds like the car was going to just flat out give up at times.

I dropped it off at David McDavid Acura and they gave me excellent service. Unfortunately they can't look at it until tomorrow, but they did at least give me a blue RSX loaner.

I'm soo close to trading in, but I just don't know what I want. :'(

Sorry to hear about the probs with the CLS.

But the RSX sounds like fun. Can't wait to see it.

As for what to get next, we'll see what we can talk you into during lunch.

You haven't even gotten your wheels yet and you already want to get rid of your car, that sucks man.

On a more positive note, look what I got yesterday...not the dog.

It took about 2 to 2.5 hours, the only good part about that is I installed it at work, so I was getting paid to mod my car. It wasn't as easy as I had hoped, I used chod's instructions but it was still tough. Although now that I've done it, and know what to do, it doesn't seem that hard. The hardest part was getting out the resonator, the 2 screws that hold it in are a pain to get at. But here's the final product...

I'm sure it was worth the money, but I actually wish it was louder. When you're cruising, you don't even notice it, you don't really hear it until you get around 3500 rpm and higher. A friend of mine got a CAI on his Eclipse and you could hear the deep growl just cruisin in a parking lot. Oh well, I'm still happy.

No I got it from No Limit. They had a sale in May, and they're actually continuing it into June too. CAI - $205, bypass - $35, free over night shipping, and no tax.

I ordered it at the end of May, but it took a while cause they didn't have red at the time, I was offered gray, but I really wanted red so I waited. Then apparently something was wrong with the card # I gave them, so they were trying to contact me to get another one but the guy wrote down my email address wrong and I should have given him my cell phone #. But when we did get in contact he immediately shipped it to me. All the guys I talked to were really polite, and helpful, so over all it was a good online buying experience.

Yeah, getting old aren't we.

Memory is one of the first things to go. I can't remember what the others are.

Anyway, I should have got your cell number like last time. Just the same I stayed and had the Seafood Club while I was there.

You need to be at the next meet so I can check it out. I really want to hear it for myself and see how loud it is, or isn't.

For me the quieter the merrier as I prefer sleepers.

Wow, that's a damn good deal! Gotta love overnight shipping!

It looks so shiney! I bet you're glad you didn't buy a used one.:P

So does this mean you won't be an innocent bystander next time we hit the track?

Heh, as soon as I got back from lunch, I hopped on the board, and it hit me. I feel pretty bad for not showing up. I bet its the beer that's causing my memory to go. Damn, I coulda used a good seafood club today.

Instead I had some so-so hot & spicy oriental food, and I think they forgot the spice.

Yeah it was a pretty good deal, when are you gettin yours?:P

I'm glad to see you talking about going to the track, I was getting worried with all that talk about the CL just being a touring car, and not driving fast, and trading it in.:shakehd:

I suppose I'll run next time, it just wouldn't be right to go twice and sit in the stands.
Two of my friends with GTs are really looking forward to it. One guy just put on a Magnaflow cat-back, and he's got an off road X pipe waiting to be installed. And David, the guy you met, will be doing the same real soon.

Btw, Mantis, since your CL is all paid off, you should get this as a second car...

or maybe the coupe this fall.

Heh, I still think of the car as a touring edition, but that doesn't mean I can't race it! Even though I doubt I'll put any performance mods on the CL, that won't keep me from hitting the track. Hell people will race anything, including me.

I'm looking at the texas motorplex calendar right now. And the very next street night is June 28.
http://www.texasmotorplex.com/calendar/
9:00pm -2:00am like last time.

The next time we can race in Ennis is
July 12th(high school night) or
July 19th Ultimate street night
http://www.texasmotorplex.com/calend...h=07&year=2002

It doesn't really matter to me. I'm calling a few friends right now to see if they want to go on the 28th of June.

If that works for you, David, and your other bud, then we might have a winner. Let me know.

And obviously, whoever else wants to try to race against the fastest metroplex CL-S(mine) is welcome to do so. You will lose horribly! (j/k) I've got to try and egg on some of these other guys. We all know I'm slow!

I'm considering getting a used s4, the g35 coupe, or the 350 Z. I'm trying to narrow it down. But who knows, I might keep the CL-S for another *cough*10*cough* years.

As luck would have I'm off that night, so I'm in.

I just called David (2001 Laser Red GT), and Marc (2002 Silver GT), and they're both up for it too. By then they'll both have their exhaust finished too. But they don't stand a chance against the mighty auto CL.

Alright RUF, I'm goin to the next meet, you gotta be there to here the CAI. No skipping out.

And I know Jacob wants to go right? Gotta show off all that work you've been wanting us to see.

And Hanzie, one more time before you sell?

I noticed once the Sacramento guy who made the first post on their thread edits it to update it with the upcoming meet info. Since that was you on this thread maybe you could do that for us?

Excellent idea. There were a couple of guys over in first gen who wanted to know about a meet, and I directed them over here. They didn't want to wade through 52 pages a this stuff, but if we could keep it at the forefront, then that would be great.

Jacobzking, I know you probably don't like "sanctioned" racing, but you gotta make it official, ya know? :P

RATS!
As my lunck would have it, I won't be here that weekend.

I'll have to catch you guys on the next round. Besides, I wouldn't be able to run as my tires have severe Mantitis.

I'm doing the full search on all my tire options. I'm trying to figure out if I can run 215/45/17 on the TLS rims. If I can then I'll have a lot more tire options available to select from.

Just take a look at the Sac thread. Something like that would be cool. "Latest info" in bold with the date the info was updated. And when and where we're gonna meet. This time it would be June 28, 2002: Texas Motor Plex in Ennis, 9:00pm - 2:00am.

And maybe later if we all decide to meet somewhere before going to the track, you could put that place and time. Hope all that's not too much to ask, thanks.

Aren't the TLS wheels the same size as the CLS wheels? If they are 215/45s will definately fit. Even if they are only 6.5" wide they might still fit, cause I know people have put 235s on the 7" CLS wheels.
