Where o where has our Mantis gone. O where o where can he be.

It's been 3 days and not a post to be found.

I know, he's probably at the cart track boning up on his driving skills so he doesn't get whipped by us.

I knew it, his trials were poor and now he's getting worried.

Seriously though, I've been there and have missed a meet for similar reasons. So if you can't make it between 8:30 and ??, that's cool.

But remember, the next time we meet I hope to have my new tread and will be looking to whip up on that CLS of yours. :P

Heh, I tried going to the go cart placeat lunch today, but they were closed. I guess since school is back in, they don't have daytime hours anymore.

I think I'm gonna have to head to houston with my future bro in law. I'll get in trouble with my sister if I don't go. :/

You can't hang with the CL-S b/c TL-Ss are soooo sloooowww! :P :P

This page is getting way too far down the forum. So.....Mantis, damn your car looks so hot in person. Those 19s and that drop made a comptech drop look like a 4x4. I didnt even want to look at my stock ride.:shakehd:

I'm disappointed you couldn't make it Jacob, I want a ride in that Vette raper.

Thanks for being considerate and waiting for me to leave before you go and have some fun. I'm sure I would have been tempted to jump in there and run as well, but with those rears, it would not have been wise.

BTW - keep me posted on the guy from Austin who might be interested in my wheels.

I actually went out and looked at some on Saturday, so I'm about ready to make the jump.

Also, found out that the TLS Michelins weight 23lbs, and I think the wheels are 24 or 25lbs. So 47-48 verses the 39-40 for my new set up should help off the line performance.

Just to let you know, I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on getting my wheels. Once I do, I'll be posting my TLS wheels on the forum.

If your buddy is serious and is willing to pick them up for cash, I'll give him a deal for $750. But he will need to act fairly quick, so find out where he stands.

Thanks - RUF

hey do you guys know anything about the Comptech headers and whether or not ones made for the 5spAT will for my 6MT? b/c there's that guy selling them as you are all proly aware that's from Dallas... I'm going back for the w/end coming up and I wanted to get them... I need a place to install it for me too... anyone know anythinga bout this? anyways I start my first day of classes tomorrow... it's gonna be a bitch... back in Austin now though but when I come back for a break we should get back together and go to a REAL go-carting place like TVC... it's about $20 a race but they're 40MPH go-carts... really fast... indoors too so it'll be nice and cool (or warm if it's winter when I get back)... anyways... you guys take care and I'll kee pstayin on this thread to keep up to date...

I brought this quote from the other Dallas thread, just cause I wanted to keep this huge thread going.

I agree, most everyone i've heard says you don't need any camber adjustment with comptech springs.

As long as they are in good shape, I think it's fine to use them. It's not like they have any mechanical moving parts to wear out or break. I don't really know a lot about springs, I've been curious, how long do springs usually last b4 you have to replace them? Or is it just shocks that need to be replaced?

I'd say that used springs or coilovers are no big deal.. hell... the only diff between new ones and old ones is that they are dirty... and the springs have settled a bit. If you find used coilovers or springs, I'd say go for it.

Why you young whipper snapper! You think you can teach an old dog new tricks?? Tricks are for kids. j/k

I can be taught, but mostly I'm lazy.

Anyway, I just needed to see them regularly to keep me going until they get in.

I may need some help getting some pics of my old wheels on the forum for folks to see.

As long as you have a digicam, or access to one, posting pics is no prob.
