I had to tone down the quality of the pics quite a bit RUF, if you want the highest quality pics, let me know, and I can host them on a server for you for a short period of time while you download them.

I also took a little footage of your ride in motion. Now you can know what other people see on the outside lookin' in.

Thanks Mantis!

And yes, I would like to get the first one and the close up of the wheel. Apprech.

Also, I glad you didn't catch the sound from me hitting the Rev limiter. :P

Can wait for it to dry up and do some quick time trials this weekend. 0-60 only, no 1/4 yet.

Ya, but since I want to do sways at the same time I'm going to wait for Christmas.

Also, Vinh probably got me $50 more on the wheels with his selling skills. I'll get another pair or get a deal from Dean with sways. By doing it once I'll probably come out the same.

Thanks Vinh, and I'm sure I can get you up here to see it real soon. Like as soon as those springs show up.

And you better be here quick like, seems like some of the gang is trying to talk some sense into me and install them on my car.

i dont know about the 555s, my friend with a 2nd gen eclipse gst, had the 555s (mainly cause he had several mods pushing about 22 psi) anyway, he blew a hole in his tranny, doing a launch, and he blamed it on the tires haha. Wherever he bought them, acutally took them back. He said those tires just grip way tooo much, plus aren't they pretty expensive??

My bro has A520s on his si, he likes them alot, they are wearing on the inside badly only cause he has nasty camber, and ive heard nothing but good from the nitto 450s

I was thinking about the paradas but someone told me they are discontinuing them?? Is that true??

they're not too expensive for what you get... Paradas have a good following... I've always been curved towards the Nitto 555s or the Pirelli P7000s... the A520s wear really quickly... at least that's from my experience...

Jeff, tell your brother to get a damn camber kit... Its nasty,

I can only speak from experience, the nittos are great, but pissy in the rain. All of my friends who have yoks have no complaints with them, although they dont drive as hard as we do, so I dont know about tire wear.

yes... nittos are shitty in the rain.. that's what I keep hearing from tons of people who have them... and your brother has that SI right? def. needs camber kit... EK civics don't handel drops very well... they go like 2 degrees or 1.5 degrees off in camber with just a 1.8" drop or so...

here's what you should do... go to a discount tire... give them a list of tires you want specs on... they should give you a treadwear rating as well as a grip rating... then you decide what's a good combo for your style of driving... some tires are guaranteed for so many thousand miles (more expensive)... look at the numbers and see if you are gonna be autoxing, dragging, w/end racing, drifting, or the usual driving around like you've got 10 cop cars chasing after you on a daily basis... then take into consideration the price and "WHAMMO!" you've got a set of tires perfect for your budget/style/needs...

I need some tires too... still looking into it... gonna go to NTB today and talk to them... proly buying from my uncle in Dallas though... still trying to get a set of sways right now... you guys know anyone who wants to get rid of their CTs? I'm thinkin' about looking for Eibach sways ... supposedly they're 22mm instead of 19mm like on CTs... however bigger is not always better... I think you still need flex to go around turns...

If you guys are looking only at AA/A rated tires, meaning AA traction then I'd also look at these. And you are not wanting All Season, but yes to dry and wet.

Hankook Ventus - Sport K104 - AA/A 280
Kumho - Ecsta MX - AA/A - 220
Falken - FK 451 - AA/A - 280
Dunlop - SP Sport 9000 - AA/A - 280
Pirelli PZero - Rosso Asimmetrico AA/A 240

The Pirelli is in the mid $100 range (150+)
The others are in the lower $100 range ($120ish)

The only reason I didn't go with any of these is because of weight. Note, none was really any heavier than the OEM Michelins.

Go ahead and mail me the check. It should get here about the same time you pick up the springs.

Do you still have my number? If so call me to get the address.

Looks like I'm going to hook up with PlanoTLS to check out his ride. He has a 2002 TLS with CT springs and sways.

I'll be able to see what the drop looks like and take it for a ride.

If it's a knock out, then I'm going to press momma for my Christmas Present early.

:P I remember, but I can't compare it with my new wheels and tires. They feel so good.

Besides, I don't remember him having the springs at that time. And I really want to see the drop up close.

And the deal looks pretty good if I can work out the install.

I may have to do it myself, but will have to hurry as I only have 4 weeks to get it done.

I dunno, I PMed him about 2 weeks ago, and he says hes beginning work on it I believe. He also said hes been pretty busy with work so thats why he hasn't really had the time for it.

Well, that was 2 weeks ago, so hopefully he has hit some milestones by now.

Hey, what color do you have? WDP?

That would be great. I've been out numbered by the Silver guys for some time.

Also, did I read that you already have CT headers? If so I'll have to check them out. They may be in my future . . . if the economy ever turns around.

WDP: the silver looks OK but the fake black wood grain sucks!!!

CT headers installed in July--I love them. My girlfriend thinks I'm obsessed...

What!! You have the ebony interior as well!!

Yes, I know what you mean. I was telling Mantis the other day I wish more of that would have been in that buffed aluminum.

And as far as being obsessed, I hear you on that too . . :P My wife thinks I'm nuts and should grow up, but she is letting me finally get some things.

RUF, now that would be cool--but no, I just said it badly. I have the parchment interior. I was just trying to talk a little smack with the guys in silver/ebony.

Actually my girlfriend is very cool about the car--and she has a TL herself, so she can't get too upset! She just gives me that look. Plus now I am having to explain why I just spent $45 on an oil cap that says Comptech.

The headers are really worth it. I don't know how you explain that kind of cash, but you gotta try them out. Just think about how the car feels when you reach your old peak HP but now you do it at 5,600 and you still have all the way to redline with 10% more pull. It is sweet!
