Just got threw PMing him and he's figuring out what the shipping charges are.

He wanted $150 for them, and unless the shipping is too high it should be a done deal.

Now I've got to decide on doing them myself, or finding someone cheap.

Thanks -

typeS_Clark,
Hey do you play basketball sometimes at UTA? A friend of mine plays there all the time and told me he saw a car like mine but lowered and with a spoiler. He described the guy and he sounded a lot like you. Just wondering.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, or my 16th birthday! 2 more days and counting for my wheels and tires.

As it turns out, it may happen on my actual birthday.

Too bad I won't have the springs for a couple of weeks.

Anyway, well have to have another meet before 10/17 or after 11/15. I'm going under for some shoulder surgery.

One last race . . . with the old rubber.

Now that I'm getting new tires, I went ahead and played with a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. He had exhaust and CAI mods. I even let him make the first move and as soon as he nailed it, I nailed mine. I quickly pulled 2 car lengths in 1st , and in 2nd I pulled slowly away before I let up around 80MPH.

i forget, how do our cars do against s2k's... maybe hanzie and mantis would know better...

last friday afternoon, i followed one on my way to stonebriar.. turned right from legacy to preston and saw a dark silver (anthracite?) s2k with exhaust
caught up to him at the next light, and it was all clear, nobody around us, and i had a feeling he was going to race, but wasnt sure. I am never the one to start a race, but i went ahead and switched to SS and turned off VSA to be prepared. at the green, i heard him roar off the line, so i immediately followed. He got a quick 1 car lead, and we stayed that way till 80- I couldnt gain, but didnt lose any more either. He tapped his brakes at 80, claiming his "win" but I was a bit disappointed, because I thought I would catch up. Now that I think about it, its probably unwise to be going that speed on preston.

Thing is, the guy was by himself, and I had 2 friends in my car, one of which is quite on the "chunky" side (a bit over 200).

I rarely ever race people, but i just had the urge that day, and it was pretty fun. Just wondering how we stack up against s2k's.

Hey Duckblue.. this is about what an S2k - CL/TL race looks like from a standstill...
http://www.thefiresauce.com/vids/cls-s2k.mpg

(Hanzie was having clutch problems that night...at least that was his story...:P) (He was eating my ass up near the end)

From a rolling ~55-60, against an S2K w/ intake & headers... we get wasted by about 1-2 cars

hmm.. i dont feel bad at all now.. cuz hanzie was catching up fast, and this guy didnt leave me at all- especially since i had extra weight...

i'm not sure if i like the look or not, but i definitely noticed the mod, since i saw the shiny piping from a distance

Don't do it Jeff, it looks ghetto...

Heh, I probably won't have my car this weekend... some slut hit me in the back while I was stopped at a red light 2 Fridays ago, and its going in the shop today for repairs... probably won't have it till next Monday.

I haven't washed it since I had the fender bender... she's extremely dirty!

Glad to hear you finally got that G2 Danny, what was the wait, like 3 weeks?

yeah but the thing is people are saying with the singled out exhaust, you get more of a hp gain than with duals

Jeff..
Yeah, I guess we had a chit chat about it earlier, and it all boils down to whether you want style or performance... If the gains are REALLY worth it the go for it...wait... what kind of gains are we lookin' at with a single exhaust?

RUF..
I have to get a new back bumper, I really hate to talk about it, but she gave me a bad driver's liscense and insurance policy #, I don't have a way to contact her, so I'm gonna have to pay for it out of pocket. :'(

Going through my insurance is too much of a pain... while its in there, I'm gonna have them repaint the front bumper, and fill in the black part of the bumper with silver.. I've been meaning to do it, and now is my chance.

mantis,

I had that happen to me when i went to school in arlington. But luckly the guy that hit me and gave me the wrong info was driving a company truck with a logo on the door which i remembered. I gave the police the description of the logo and they found the company. I talked to the company, and they offered to pay luckly. What kind of car was she driving?? Since then, i just find it hard to believe or trust anyone anymore. There is just people out there to screw other people over. ITS SAD!!!
:sqnteek:

Oh well, i put it down as a lesson learned, and hope it never happens again, I feel your pain man

As far as they performance gains, everyone that has dynoed and posted dyno sheets show a few hp gain with single and less if none at all with the dual. I don't know, i can't decide. Oh well, don't really have the money for it any time soon anyway.

Well, it was 3 weeks wait with the company that was giving me the run-around, so i cancelled the order with them and ordered it somewhere else. It got shipped out the next day and I got it within a week.

If your car can't make it, it seems like a good opportunity to swipe your sisters G35.

Mantis, if you're gonna get the front bumper painted silver every where, you should get the top grille done as well. I just saw it for the first time in these pics, and i love the way it looks.

Yahoo! Got my wheels and tires today. They really look good and feel even better.

The wheels were so light. The weight of one TLS wheel felt almost as heavy as both the T1-S and Appeals together.

Based on bathroom scale results I dropped a little over 8lbs per wheel and you can feel the difference. The car felt lighter on its feet and of course the T1-S really improved the traction.

No more 2nd gear chirps, but man it really snaps your head back in the seat when it hits 2nd gear. Almost leaps forward.

I wish I could get a true comparison of the time differences. I'm betting that I dropped 2-10ths off my times, maybe 3.

Anyway, I've got to locate someone with a digital camera to take some pics so I can post them.

Can't wait for the springs.

I'm not sure yet, this one isn't as organized as b4. I think it starts earlier this time, like 7 and goes until 12am. A couple of friends of mine are going for sure, but we haven't set a specific time yet. Maybe some guys here will throw in their opinion. Hopefully Mantis can bring that G35.

May be moot for me anyway. :'(

I was checking on a kitchen pass, and, well the wife tells me that's when the kids are taking me out for my birthday dinner. I'd be a real heel if I backed out of that.

We'll have to do it another time, especially since I want to see what it do now.

I can't find my sister's G35... either she left it at the airport, or one of her friends took it.. she has her phone off too, so I can't get in touch with her to see where it is. :/

What a pisser.. I hope they have my car ready tomorrow, though its doubtful.

I'd stay out of your way too!

But I will be looking for a 6-speed CLS or a GS400 to see how much difference the new set up has made.

civic4982, you should have sold those wheels for me.

Anyway, I hope they work out. I'm a bit leary using used stuff that can have wear or damage. But I've chatted with Hyde before and he seems like an upstanding guy.

And I can't wait to get them on. With the new wheels it should look really good.

Also, pm me and let me know when you get it. Maybe we have a go at it and see how much difference my lighter set up makes.

I almost feel like I did when I first got my TLS. I want to drive it all the time because of the way it feels now.

I'm sure itching to hand Mantis a good whipping.

Have all the CL(S) & TL(S) owners on this thread with 5-speed autos post on this poll?

If not get out there.

So what's the scoop for tonight?

I can't make the track, but might get out for a bit.

Anyway, the humidity is way up there and we wouldn't get our best times anyway.
