It'll even back out soon enough. :P

Ohh, they have OBX headers for $340 shipped now, I couldn't let that slip up, so I HAD to get in on it.

I'm not waiting around to find out what Mantis is up to.

I'm heading right out and getting me some NOS. :P j/k

I am waiting on some quotes for some new mods. Depending on cost, I'll have at least 3 or more new toys to install.

There's no way I'm going to let the CLS crowd leave me behind.

Don't worry, I'm the one gonna be left behind. My part time job doesn't let me afford too many mods.

not to worry danny... at least you have an intake... I've got a new bumper ... anywyas an update on my car :

today I went to pick it up at 10AM... they said they had one interior trim piece they had to replace but other than that the car was done... I WAS SOOOO EXCITED... I'm so sick of driving an automatic Dodge Intrepid... (great economy on gas though considering I got about 32 or so mpg on highway) anyways I've driven it about 2000 miles in the 3 weeks I've had it (back and forth to dallas a bunch) and now i'm tired of it...

so I see my car from a distance and she looks BEAUTIFUL... glimmering that bluish color that the NBP does so well... and then I GET UP CLOSE... and the right door still has 3 huge scuffs on it not to mention somehow they ADDED enormous scuffs to where the door opens up, looks like some guy swiped my car when he was opening the door... ok ok ok... so I calm myself down and say "hey I'd better check everything else"... look again and I notice that same right door, the rubber insides that seal the door are sticking out too much and not fitting right... ok ok so I figured I'd keep checking right? looks good when I walk around the left side b/c everything has been redone on that side for sure... and DEFINETELY The guy must have checked it all b/c I told him it went through a field of reeds and has scratches almost all over right? and then the trunk... it has OVER SPRAY of clear coat on my rear window and on my rear trunk... I look at the rear trunk a second time b/c I notice the overspray... then I see that there's still scratches on the rear trunk... WTF?!?!?! these guys missed not only my rear trunk but my passegner door and installed stuff back on wrong and oversprayed clearcoat on my trunk and rear window... now I have to leave my car there for them to redo those things... my rental is only paid by my insurance company for up to 30 days... I'm on day 19 already... and there's no way they're gonna finish my car in 11 days... considering the @#$%ers don't work on w/ends... what does that mean? that means they'd better pay for a rental after my insurance won't pay anymore... and they'd better give me SOMETHING good to compensate... like free oil changes or something... and that clera coat overspray better be GONE when I come back... argghhh!!! so now my car is bvack in the shop... I got to sit in her for about 5 minutes... and man is this getting long so I'll stop now... I:'m so pissed... and I took it to a DEALERSHIP to get it repaired.. .also this dealership is part of the "Circle of Dependncy" from Farmer's insurance... I took it to the best place in the area supposedly... damn these idiots!

That sucks! That wouldn't be as surprising if you took it to the corner body shop, but an Acura dealership!?!? Sorry man, I hope this all works out for you. When something happens to your car it NEVER goes as easy as it should.

Btw, when you do get it back, keep an eye out for those curbs. j/k Mantis

New CL-S in Dallas

Hey, this thread is a monster, so I'm not gonna try to read through much of it, but I wanted to say hello to the DFW area CL-S owners.

I've got a buttload of mods on the way (suspension next week, engine the week after), and would love to hit a track and see what kind of times I can get, as well as check out some other CL's in the area. Where's the closest place to do official 1/4 mile times? I saw Innis, TX referenced at the start of this thread. That's south of Ft Worth, right?

Later,
Dan

Nutz,
I think we're gonna have a meet in Nov. Fri. the 15th or 22nd, we're gonna head to Ennis. Yeah, that's south of DFW, not too far.

And what was that about a new engine?? Did you order the 3.5L block??

Anyway, hang around here and help us catch up to the Sacramento thread whenever you can.

ewwww 3.5L block? what a freakin waste of money... honestly the ppl getting this 3.5L on their 5AT models should just spend that difference upgrading to a 6MT and bolting on some parts... not worth it... we've still to see ANY times run by these 3.5L monsters... and the one guy who has done it has had problems left and right... check out car talk and lemme know what you guys think...

Civic,
are you gonna install those springs yourself? I wouldn't mind giving that a try, but I have absolutely no experience with that.

I've read that getting the back seat out isn't that hard, but I've never attempted it my self. Hey, If we figure it out, I may have to do that b4 we go to the track in Nov.

Danny, hell no I'm not talking about the 3.5L! I was just talking about the stuff in my signature. I agree with the statement that it would be a *total* waste of money to go that route.

As it turns out, I'm doing a really nice upgrade to an already nice car with the mods I've selected (very carefully). The whole deal is gonna run me a little over a grand in parts, and since I'm pretty new down here and don't have a big garage to work in, nor the toolset to get it done, I'm gonna go to CTC Motorsports. You guys heard of them / used them? A guy I work(ed) with down here recommended them. He's got a monster Supra TT with like 450hp or something nutz, so I figure he's on it.

I've got the CT Ice Box on the way first of next week from Dean. I believe he said $240 shipped on that, $280 shipped on the sways, $240 shipped on the springs, and $240 shipped for the headers. Plugs were $46 shipped. What's that total...

Oh yeah, I'm definitely in for the November Friday -- assuming I'm not out of town or something.

I should have broke this up to get the total posts up...

Yeah, that'll be cool to jump on the Ice Box right away. I was pulling the trigger on an AEM (literally had the browser up with the price and everything) when I saw that the CT was shipping next week. I absolutely can't f*cking wait to get this stuff done.

No type-o on the headers. It's a done deal for $340. No doubt it's a crazy low price. I can't believe the HP/$ ratio on all these mods I'm doing!!!

http://www.v6accord.com/forums/showt...&highlight=obx

On the other hand, I'm not excited about having my tranny go belly up because of overheating (and poor design).

Since this thread was DFW based, I thought I would ask if anyone knows local places to get mods for my '99 3.0 CL? Primarily looking for clear lenses for the bumber lights and tail (tail I can't even find online), maybe CAI and exhaust as well.

Thanks for your help..

TONS of places man... I tihnk there's on called Redline or something around your area in Arlington... if not around Plano there's Concept Racing or in Richardson/Garland area there's your Jotech and Intercrew... I don't know very much about arlington area but Im' sure ther's more shops... ask around... o and a 450 hp supra isn't that bad ass sorry to say... for supras? Any idiot with a wrench and a boost controller can make a supra 450 hp... basically they can do that stock without any real upgrades... they're just bad ass engines and really strong built... if I was going to get stuff installed (which I think would be a waste of money to begin with) I'd go to a more well known shop like maybe intercrew or jotech that have been around the are a long time... they guarantee all their work and you won't ever worry about them not knowing what they're doing... Jotech's install prices are a bit rediculous but Kenny Tran has earned the right to charge that much... Intercrvew would be your best bet and Phi does good work... if not be a good DIYer and take pics for us all...

Hey guys, I'll catch up on all the recent posts, but I gotta run.

I just wanted to get Mantis and the rest of the curb rashers a bit of info. :P

I got a number from the people who do wheel work for my brother's bodyshop.

Wheels of America
1-888-434-9746

Call the toll free number for the closest shop.

Welcome to the board Chris... As far as shop in town, umm, don't know much about Arilington, but you can always try the places Civic-"the whore"-4982 mentioned.

I went to concept racing, and they wanted like $250 for an AEM CAI. I walked out and haven't been back since.

Nutz, we'll get a big track meet pretty soon I hope. Hopefully just in time before the track closes, and after you have all your mods on.
