At least it is behind you now. I blew out my knee a while ago in a soccer game (PCL ruptured after a goalie came through my knew hyperextending it like an ostrich's leg) so I know what you mean by discomfort. Follow your physical therapy now even if it hurts because it will feel better faster than if you go it slow early on. (I'm not a doctor but I play one on the internet...)

Hang in there! Inferno

What a bitch--at least you got it taken care of and $45 bucks is not that bad to finish the job (dignity aside).

it DEFINETELY rides rougher. I don't know how ppl were saying "it rides like stock". I always knew those comments were bullshit but I still was hopeful. It doesn't ride terribly, just worst than I expected.
I really don't mind the ride--I actually like it--but I guess I drove a CRX for so long that I never liked the cushy ride as well as the road feel. It looks better, though, doesn't it?

Gonna go back to Dallas right now (gimme a holler if you guys wanna chill and do somethin' tonight)...
Man, I was driving around in the rain in Dallas last night and it was RAINING--almost got washed away on NW Hwy at White Rock Lake: the cops had stopped west bound traffic but hadn't stopped east bound and I had to go through 6" of hard running water--it pissed me off that they couldn't send another cop over at the same time. WTF.

I know what you mean, i had no choice but to drive thru at least 6-8" of water last nite. But it was on a city street so i just slowed down and took it easy. Having the bypass valve on the cai made me feel a lot better.

Yeah, the Ice Box has a bypass valve for water. Plus the filter is up where the stock filter is which would help in that regard, too.

Don't drive in Texas without a bypass valve is what I have learned!

More on the bypass question. This is from Dean who is selling the Ice Box when asked the same question:

Eric,
My bad bro... Austin and I decided kind of last minute to do it that night... we were gonna do it on saturday but instead I wanted it and I wanted it now ... it was no big deal though... $45 and a lotta learning was much less than $150-250 that most places charge... and it was kinda fun even though we were about to pull our hair out by the end of the night... or no wait it was morning ... anyways I'mma order an icebox soon maybe... I just got a new hookup here in Dallas...

ok so here's my hookup guys.

if you guys know about Team Autobots then you know it's a big time prestigious car club out in Cali and Japan. They've got only two branches right now. My really good friend in Dallas, well his cousin is the President and founder of Autobots over in Cali and this new shop in town (DTM Autowerks) out in K-town area of Dallas has been begging him for years to let him in on Autobots when he used to be in Cali. Now that shop is here in Dallas, they've got a 15000 square foot shop (that's about 15 times as large as intercrew or any other place) , I'm talking a WAREHOUSE size place, and do mostly work on BMW, Lexus, Audi, VW, and Mercedes. They stock so much momo/hammann/dinan in their warehouse that it's rediculous. I'm talkin these guys are big time. They're mostly in the distributor market and sell most of the part that the big hitters out here in Dallas like Intercrew and Jotech use. This after only being here 5 months. I tihnk the only other distributor in the area is Topspeed in Addisson area. I went by their shop last night and OMG... Laguna Seca Blue 03 M3 6sp with every Hamann part you can think of. A '97 M3 also with every Hamann part known to man as well as a supercharger. A Vortec supercharged IS300. And a tight looking ML55. (o yeah there was a white '98 turbo civic EX there that reminded me of my car back in the day ) Really laid back bunch of Koreans that are in love with German cars and seem to know what they're doing. I'll take pics of the shop next time I'm in town with my digital camera Absolutely beautiful. So now my buddy is president of the soon to be TX Autobots. his car just got sponsored like crazy left and right and isgetting work done to it as we speak. Basically I hate him b/c he's alucky bastard and has a sponsored car... sooooo, we're looking to try and get me sponsored but I need more money to do more work right now... Most liekly it won't be until xmas time when I can work and save up a bunch of money. now if we need parts I'm sure I can find good deals on almost anything. Won't be cost, but definetely competetive. Anyways just thought I'd let you guys know. I'm looking at a supercharger for next fall as of right now. For right now I'm not sure what I can afford b/c my budge is like $600 since I just spent some money on a digital camera. $600 isn't much to work with so I might just wait til after xmas and play some more. We'll see, any advice on what to buy woudl be appreciated. Should I get Tires? Icebox? Sways? Save it for something cooler?

I've got to keep the posts up so we can close the gap with the westcoast gang. 2000 or bust. It's kind of like the Mavs vs the Kings, a high scoring affair.

BTW - the day of the surgery is not as bad as the following days. Saturday was worse than Sunday for sure. What really was a pain was that I had an allergy and migraine hit me Friday and got worse on Saturday.

Anyway, doing pretty good today and even have a SPRING in my step. :P

Well, yes, except for therapy. :P

At least you have honor in blowing out your knee. Mine was on a dare. It was 6 months before I could kick a soccer ball. And I still have a little more to go before I'm 100% again.

I do however have full flexibility back, just not full strength.

Inferno,

Yes, that is really sweet of her. Sounds like a great gal even though she won't get you a S/C. She did let you get the tires, springs, sways and ice box.

Maybe she's trying not to spoil you too much.

BTW - I was surprised at the ease in which OU won this weekend. I hope it wasn't a fluke.

You bet. I have the tools, but may need to get a couple of specialty bits.

I would like to get it dyno's first and then do it to see if it really makes any difference. Although I'm sure it will, just how much is the question.

What we need to do is find out who does molded plastic work. We could also do lightweight sheet metal as well.

Can't wait until the arm is better so we can get started.

Yes, I've read that they are good in wet conditions.

But have you been able to test them in dry yet to see how the compare to stock?

Just don't push it too far like Mantis did and end up "curbing" his beautiful wheels. Or end up in the reeds like Civic, or did Civic end up in the 'weeds'

Met up with CLS-D today to pick up some stereo stuff. Looked over his mods, especially his mobile media setup. It sounds and looks great! After looking at his setup, I think I've been sold on a new head unit.

Okay, so who's got tools? And space to work out of the rain?

We can do a Shop-Mod meet sometime the next week or so.

I'll have limited use of my right arm for a while, but am still game.

Maybe we can hook up for a quicky some where near here to work out the details.

Danny, not exactly sure how it all happened, but part of the problem was that my shoulder came to a more pronounced point than normal. And the tissues and tendons around it were subject to more than typical friction and pressures, which eventually caused excessive wear and tear.

I'll find out more details on Thursday we I review all the images of the proceedure.
