The pw in me made me post this.:P Just doing my part to whoop Sac town.

its the name for wi-fi, just another name for the wireless networking. i'm pretty happy about our school having it in the majority of the buildings on campus- so when your professor is too boring, just bust out the laptop and hop on the forums

What we know so far is that we want to go to Ennis either November 15 or 22 (both Friday nights) AND we want to do the dyno day the following Saturday morning if possible (November 16 or 23). We have a quote from Alamo Autosports in Arlington:

I called Alamo Autosports in Arlington (817-860-4300) and found out the following:

They are open on both Fridays and Saturdays with dyno runs by appointment only. They quoted me a standard charge of $75 for 3 pulls (includes printout) if I went down by myself. They said they could do a "buddy" deal for $65 for 3 pulls each if we had 3-4 cars. They also said they could do a club "dyno day" for $45 for 2 pulls each IF we had 10 or more cars. They are located at 1218 Colorado Lane, Suite C-3, Arlington, TX 76015 (North of I-20 off Cooper Street before you get to Pioneer Parkway).
We are waiting on a quote from Kyle at CTC Motorsports in Richardson (www.CTCMotorsports.com). Mantis and DeezNutz, since you guys know these folks, were you able to get a good group rate from CTC? Sorry if I missed a post.

hey guys when you get a date on the track dates I'd love to go... my springs still aren't on yet but are supposed to go on this thursday if things go as planned... other than that I'm doing my first oil change the same day... any advice on what to use? my plan now is to use Mobil 1 synthetic and a Fram oil filter...

Well lets put it on the table

-----------------------------------------
November 15th
Gates Open: 6:00 p.m.
Open Time Trials: 7:00 p.m. - Midnight
LTI High School Series Eliminations: 9:00 p.m.
Admission Prices
Racer Entry: $15
Student Racer: $12
Spectator Entry: $8
Student Spectator: $5
E/T Boards ARE on

-----------------------------------------
November 22nd
Gates Open.......8:00pm
Racing...........9:00pm - 2:00am

Racer Entry........$15
Spectator Entry....$8
E/T Boards ARE NOT on
-----------------------------------------

Things to consider:

1.) For those of you that work 9-5ish, November 22nd may be better since it starts later(9:00). But the End Time boards WILL be on.

2.) The November 22nd night will most likely be crowded as all hell since its the last night for amateurs. The E/T boards will not be on.

3.) They both cost the same. (unless you're a student)

4.) When can we get the majority of the boys rallied to go?

5.) The additional time trials on Nov 15th may cut into our run time.

6.) Just flip a damn coin, and pick one.

I have an appt Monday morning at CTC to get the goods installed, and will talk to Kyle then. I think Mantis stopped by there last week, and had Kyle looking into having a shop near them do a deal for us. I've not heard details since then. Unfortunately, CTC doesn't have a dyno setup in-house.

Nov. 15th is cool for me cause i'm a student, but that guy with the VR4 at the track last time said those days are really crowded. So the 22nd is fine with me too.

I like November 22nd. It sounds like it will be crowded either night but there will be more time to make runs the 22nd.

That being said, we will be SOL if we get bad weather on that day because there will be no make up day available.

Being a newbie at this race thing, do we get slips or what for the times?

Well, seeing as how this thread is 111 pages long....I am leary going through all of them to see what the purposed meet dates, times, and locations are. Could someone enlighten me?

I think a calender page would be good for something like this?

I haven't done anything to the powertrain other than the exhaust, so a Dyno for me would be a waste. I might not mind watching the others doing it though. I was more thinking that ther was going to be a general gathering of the CL owners in DFW that I could catch up with.

i went to discount tire later (coit&190) and they also agreed that it wasnt that patched portion that blew up, so i'm at least satisfied now. I went ahead and got the yokohama 420's (i remember rootbeer posting in another thread saying he got those) cuz it was quite a bit cheaper than both the oem michelins and the dunlops. I went ahead and got all 4 replaced, and it seems to be quieter than stock (which i found really noisy) and so far so good. I didnt get to really test it out yet, cuz i only had a half hr break between classes, so i'm back here sittin in class.

gotta love 802.11b
I had similar sucky dealings with NTB . . no service.

I went with Kaufman Tire because they had the Toyos in stock.

Feels just as good as a TLS with sways, but I still have the body roll . . . for now.

I also recall seeing a couple of folks on the Black Market forum and the TLS for sale site looking for some.

ok... lemme know if you guys think this makes sense... Lower tread rating = more traction ... maybe? I don't know... I've been reading about stickiness on tires and I was wondering why the old A520 (Yokes) I used to use were so sticky but never lasted any time at all... I thought it was just my driving but checked the treadwear on them today and it's like 180 instead of the average 300 that most other tires have... I'm trying to burn out my tires soon so I can have an excuse to buy some Nitto 555Rs or Potenza S03s...

so my friend said sways make the CLS ride REALLY rough... especially noticeable on freeways... is this true? anyone with experience? I really don't feel like taking the comfort from my car right now... I don't really take twisties that much so mostly I'm straight line racing... the springs are just for loooks for me... I think I should save the money and get an IceBox and maybe next year get some headers when OBX makes some for my 6 speed or used 6sp CTs are available... Until then I want to spend almost a thousand on getting a navigation system and doing the DVD route with it so I can have fun with it... waht do you guys think?

Civic.

Lower tread ratings does not always mean better traction. You need to look for the AA traction rating.

I think you have too much money to blow . . . should have sold you those springs for more.
