The smaller hose isn't so bad once you get the engine cover off, but it is easily the shittiest of the 4 connections to access.

AEM supplied me with 2 big, and 2 small clamps. I used all 4 aftermarket clamps supplied by AEM.

Didn't they give you 4 screw clamps total?

yeah 2 of the ones on the right. I'm gonna need another optima blue battery like the one I have now. Its probably gonna go where the spare is if I can cram it in there, else, there is some cutting to be done. I might just use only one of the amps and sell the other one.

550W x 2 Channel Max. Power Output at 4-ohms Stereo
370W x 2 Channel 0.1% THD at 4-ohms Stereo (RMS Continuous Power)

So if I crank it all the way up, that would be 1100 watts per sub, 2200 watts total. But I'd never turn it up that high.

My subs are dual voice coils, so each sub can accept 2 channels, therefore 1 amp for each 12" sub.

I actually got these for literally a steal. On average you can pick up 1 for about 600 bucks (including shipping). Ebay had one for 370 (including shipping).

I'm getting 2 for $500.00.

I wasn't really planning on getting a new set of amps so soon, but you can't let stuff like this go by.

that was not fun. Being tall sucks sometimes, my back is killing me .
I probably just lost one of the screw clamps, so I just used a squeeze clamp off another hose.

It definately looks better now...

I trimmed that "extra" hose cause it was way too long, but I accidentally took to much off... so I had to zip tie it down to another hose...

Then after all that fun, I spent 10 min. digging for a socket that fell down into the engine bay.

Then maybe I could bum a ride around in someone's car with the sways? Never felt them b4.

If folks are getting together, post it. I would like to come over. I do have to be somewhere for dinner so it should be early afternoon if you want to see my new Comptech Ice Box which arrives on 2/21/03 (that would be Friday, I believe).

Who else is getting the ice box delivered besides me? If nobody is, no big deal. We can meet later...

Behehehe, sounds like you had some fun. :P
Yeah, I didn't think replacing those hoses was too enjoyable either, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Don't know if I mentioned it earlier, but I trimmed that extra hose also. Luckily I didn't cut it too short.

Yeah, I started freakin' out cause I thought I did something I wasn't supposed too, but it was all good. I kept trying to hold it in an upright position so shit wouldnt leak out so much.

You're too much Inferno.

On another note, so many ice boxes to see, so little time...

And another thing, this 60 second rule is starting to tick me off.

Mantis, you should check the rated amprage draw on those amps before you invest in another battery and alternator. I have had some massive systems in the past, and only once did I need a 2nd battery and upgraded alternator. That was a 5000watt setup drawing 200+amps. Your factory alternator should suffice recharging the 2 batteries. I wouldn't worry about an alternator until you wear yous out...if ever.

I don't know if Ruf kept his order current, but I am not sure. I thought he told me he was going to wait and see when came out but didn't want to get caught with an upgrade at a bad time.

Early Saturday afternoon would be great but it may just be my car. Anybody want to do this thing?

Also, it looks like the first batch sold out!

Thanks for the tips Chris, I'll check in to it. If anyone would know on this board, it'd be you.

I know DeezNutz was part of the first order, so he should be getting his as soon as you do. I'll send him a PM and see if he wants to get together Sat. too. But if not, I'd still be happy to meet up and help out on just yours.

I really don't think its that hard Danny, since its all bolt on, but you're gonna need at least 2 people & jacks stands the first time around, and hella good instructions.

i got a used set of OBX SS for $300 shipped from jimcol711. Those ceramic ones are crap, the coating flakes off and the headers get all rusted pretty quickly.

My neighbor is a mechanic and I think he has his own shop, I need to ask him how much he'd charge me. I know he could do it with no problem, last year he did a custom turbo install on one of his friends old GTIs.

And he wants me to take some DFW group pics of all the sweet rides we got down here. So everybody needs to meet up with me and Inferno Sat. to shoot the shit and install the ice box, and take some pics.

yeah, its cool to post up whatever on that site.

My obx headers came with gaskets, so we just used those. At 2800 there is a resonance that I didn't hear with the stock headers. But its only at 2800ish, and lasts a very short time. Its nothing really. People just like to exaggerate shit too much.

so, do you have the headers now? or will they get here next week, meaning you'll have to go to the track next Friday?
