wow, that's crazy mantis....

Below is the email DuckBlue sent me:

Okay guys, we've spotted them a bunch of points, but the gap is now 100!

Let's keep it up. Where is Casper when you need him???

That’s posted by ruf, after a sac guy came to our thread and found out we’re whoring to catch them
I'm ALWAYS proud to help out...

Out of curiousity, did anyone actually read page 136, I had two questions that I asked and would really like a response too. Plus it will show that i'm good for more than just whoring....

Anyway, slept pretty good, but no normal yet. If I lay flat it puts too much pressure on my shoulder and even with drugs it still a big discomfort.

Since i've been gone so long. What happened RUF? I looked back but couldn't find anything. Did you dislocate your shoulder or something...?

My question is, do you guys have any suggestions and do you think it would be cheaper to get the parts painted while they're not on the car or while they're on the car? He's trying to find a shop that will hopefully be able to match his color while the kit is not on the car, but if that's too difficult then he'll do what he has to.

Thanks,
CasperTL
Hmm, I don't know much about kits, but I'd suggest finding someone to paint the kit while it isn't on the car and then have it put on. I don't think they'll paint it with the kit on. The scary part is finding matching paint. I've been lucky to have both bumpers painted twice, and it matches damn near perfect.

My b-day was last sunday (Oct. 13) and I'm trying to decide what to get for my b-day. I have a few options.

1) Y-pipe. Supposedly adds close to 20hp and a good amount of torque as well.
2) Muffler. I would prefer a bolt on, but if need be, i'll get a universal and get some fatter pipe to go from the cat to the muffler.
3) CAI. Injen is one of the few manufacturers of a CAI for the 4th Gen Max. I don't know why, but they would be my brand of choice since no other well known company makes one.
4) Standard Intake. Most Max owners on the Maxima forums just get plain intake. It's cheaper, but that's the only advantage that I can find.
5) If yall have any other ideas of what I could get. Something fairly cheap, and I don't NEED any stereo equipment.

Thanks again,
CasperTL
1) Y- Pipe!

Ya know, that's what i've been leaning towards... It replaces two stock pre-cats, so when I go to get inspected, I will have to drive around for a while so that my cats will heat up .

There's a company in Canada that makes a pretty good one that is becoming more and more popular. It costs about $210 + shipping.

definetely Y-pipe... Is the Y-pipe is the pip that connects the two headers ? if so then how could it possbily add 20hp... that's a pretty tremendous gain... if it's something else then I'm a moron and compeltely wrong... How about a nice alarm or something? maybe upgrade your navi (if you have it) to watch DVDs... better yet a tq. convertor or tranny cooler if you've got an automatic... not sure how much those cost though so I could be outta the b-day price range...

hey Mantis, where did you get that leather stuff (pinnacle) that you were talking about? I need to clean up mine a bit it's already getting creases and I've barely had it 2 months now... of course I do have 4200 miles on it already... so that might explain it...

Good call on the torque converter or tranny cooler. I hadn't even thought of those, but they may be out of my b-day price range. I do not have NAVI (unfortunately).

You are correct about the Y-pipe. It is the pipe that connects the two headers to the exhaust manifold. The reason that it adds so much is that the stock pipe is like 2" (i think) and contains 2 pre-cats and other crap. The performance one is is 2.5" and contains NO pre-cats... The dyno test (www.motorvate.ca - GREAT Maxima site) actually shows a 30hp gain in the engine and even 30ft/lbs of torque! That site did the test with the pipe that I will buy.

I bought it directly from pinnacle @ http://www.pinnaclewax.com/leathercare.html

I'm sure it can be had for a cheaper price, I was just to lazy to look at the time.

this is the "Tech Analisys" of the y-pipe vs. stock y-pipe.

Whatever happened to eman. I remember he didn't show up for a meet, then I don't think we ever heard from him again. If you guys remember, he actually got the Comptech Headers on his. He had some nice rims to I recall.

If it hadn't been for my 22 posts this morning I wouldn't have passed civic.... :pfawk:

I catchin up to DuckBlue.... shouldn't be too much and i'll own him too.

Yeah, Clark is right, he sold his CL-S for a modded S4. Last I knew, he had found one, but was waiting to sell his CL-S before he bought the S4, I think he got it anyway.

He had headers & AEM CAI, and 18" enkeis...It looks almost like CharlesNguyen's ride.

Heh, I can't tell she isn't into the race thing. She sure seems to like it from what I can tell.

After coming to HIN, the street races, and a few nights at the track, I figured she'd be down.

Haha, that is true. Yeah i guess sometimes she is into it, but lately she hasnt been. I think mainly cause she hasnt done anything to the car besides destroy it, so she doesnt see a point in running a stock car, oh well

Do the coilovers hurt the ride that much? If so that's one reason I shouldn't buy teins. My car already rattles more than enough.

Come on Danny...you know you want Teins. Why don't you fly out to Cali and take my car for a spin and then make your decision
