Any of you 2nd Gen 5AT CL/TL guys read that humongous article in the Transmission Issues section? EricL made notes of the document. I finally read thru it all. Interesting stuff going on. I *guess* I feel better about my new one knowing they did fix some issues.

Mantis and I are the only ones with replaced trannies so far?

I don't read much of that forum. I try to forget about the possibility of being stranded on the side of the road cause my $30K car has crap for a tranny, less stressful that way.

well that Maxima didn't work out for my bro afterall . It needed to be inspected, but there was a check engine light on and the owner didn't want to pay to find out what was wrong with it and fix it so it could be inspected. And we weren't gonna buy a car with unknown problems, even though it could have been nothing at all really. But we ended up getting a 97 Altima 5 spd for him instead. It's a nice little car, but no sense in modding it.

I was thinking maybe we could could meet up in Grandberry some Saturday AM just south of Ft. Worth and make a run down to Hico on the back roads. We can make a big loop. Also there is a flat non tiwisty part between Chalk Mt. and Hico for those that might want to chance a WOT top end run about 5-8 mileslong.
Good Mexican food in Hico for lunch and back to Grandberry.
Inferno had suggested we do it on the same weekend as the roadcourse ranch as it was in close procimity, we might end up there.
Lets get a show of hands and make some plans.

hey Chris, did your wife work at Chase bank down Matlock? My mom mentioned the name of her investment advisor there and she had your last name. Then I remembered talking to her once about investing my $ and she said something about her Xterra, and I thought your wife had an Xterra right? Just thought that was kinda funny.

Ugh, I was overwhelmed with 350Zs & G35Cs today... nissan shirts.. I even got a nissan beer coozy...stupid nissan.

there was soooo much fuckin beer ni the suite, it was unbelieveable. When I left, there was still at least 4 CASES left. @_@ I wish I could have drank it all, but I've got too much to do at work tomorrow.

I rode to the stadium with a guy who has a 350Z track model. He says he might bring it to the track one day. He was no match for me in the twisties. We never got a good run on the straights, but He was always trailing me, and I could never shake him / pull away.

GO COWBOYS!

OK all you bitches , make sure you do this on September 6/7 and come by Motorsport Ranch and check out the track and the cars!!! It is southwest of Fort Worth on 377 halfway to Granbury on the left if you are headed south...

Two things:

One, I ran over some of those major road bumps (the really big kind you never see anymore) and distroyed my left side wheels (both) and cut my left front tire. I must be jinxed with these SSR's. I was going about 40 mph and it would have bent any rims, I think. I have the old rims back on the car so that both sides match (and a new tire again). I am trying to decide if I should replace the two SSR's or see if anyone wants to buy the two remaining ones at a bargin rate and put drag tires on them for 1/4 mile track days. Thoughts?

Second, my STi didn't come in this week so now they say diffenately next week. That means I will be in the TLS at the MSR event. Damn, I was hoping to be in the STi...

14.8 lbs each for just the wheels. I don't know how much the tires would weigh--that would depend on which ones you got...

If that is the direction I go, I will give you first dibs and a good price!!!

Mantis, I can't believe it! What Tha F---!
Ok, this is what I think you should do. Its time to get nasty. Demand Pat finds you a bottle today somewhere even if he has to pay retail and return it with the one you ordered whin it comes in. This is absolutly rediculous!! If not say you want a full refund and he can put the car back as it was the first day you walked in.

Oh I forgot... minus the old shock of course!

Ugh, I'll hold out a little longer. No need to get my emotions flaring though. We all know the tranny will probably blow the second I get up and running. The longer it takes to get the bottle, the longer I get to keep the car. So in the end, it all works out.

Just realized, I paid for the kit over 2 and a half months ago. :o

Yep, that was her. She left Chase about 3-4 months ago. She is a Branch Manager for Bank One now on S. Carrier Parkway ;-)

Civic,

I drop about $500 for the weekend--$300 for the event (Sat/Sun) and $200 for car tech, food, hotel, etc etc etc. You have to register in advance because they match you up with an instructure who drives a similar car as the one you have (FWD, AWD, RWD, low power, high power, etc). Really well done.

By the way, this only seems expensive until you price other high performance driving schools: they are typically about $1,000 per day plus travel/room/food/etc. All things are relative, I suppose...
