Having driven both the Evo and the STi, the STi is a lot more of a street car--less twitchy & darty and more smooth & even. This is true for both handling and the power train.
I had originally wanted to Evo because it was amazing to drive, but having read so much about the clutch being bad and having the test car have trouble with engaging 5th gear after 4,000+ miles, I couldn't get comfortable. Plus the dealer was real leary about aftermarket items and kept saying, I don't think that would be allowed by the warranty.
In contrast, the two Subaru owners talked to me personally (David Thomas and Phil somebody) and told me they had a great relationship with Cobb Tuning and were working on becoming an authorized installer/tuner. And still honor the warranty if they installed the parts!

I got to ride in a broken in STI when I was in CA. Peiqinglong took me to Berkley and I met his friend with a blue STI. He didn't even red line it but the instant power was awesome. Every shift would push me hard into the seat. Congrats Inferno!

Well first off, congrats to Bluesman and Inferno. I require rides in both!
As far as that G35 is concerned... all I can say is
That ProCharger souded so damn beautiful I was about to die. The only thing I didn't like is that at 6psi it only put down 302hp/275tq, but that is truely a 75-80 hp increase to the wheels. It has a custom FMIC with a 3 pulley system to minimize slipping. It is a V1 style supercharger. The car had custom 3" exhaust that sounded kinda funny at high rpms. Funny part is that our good 'ol buddies from LoneStar Performance were the guys to dyno the ride. One of the head guys for the G35 Owners Club of Dallas is an ex-Mustang driver and was good friends with one of the guys up there. Pics to come!

Hey, what do you guys think about the extended warranties? Is it worth $1,500 to $2,000 to get a 7yr/100,000 full extended warranty? My thought is that I am going to be using the STi as it was designed and that the extended warranty would be a very good idea. Anybody have any thoughts on the matter?

Hey Casper, you may enjoy this.
My brother may now be eligible to be a member of DNE. We're gonna go look at a 97 Maxima 5 spd tomorrow. It sounds like a nice car, I hope it turns out to be.

they feel great... the install was a bitch b/c all the coverings had to be taken off for the intake to be mounted. The sways took a long time just b/c I had a hard time pulling them out and fitting the new ones into the correct position. I got to test it all out weaving through traffic at 110+ MPH to upwards of 140 and 150. That's a whole 'nother story though.

Is that the Comptech headquarters? Did you go inside? To me, that is holy ground...
Looks really, really great: now that is a meet (great cars, even better roads)!!!
It looks like they treated you right, Danny.
