son of a....

just got a message from zeal saying that their technician is in Japan until mid january.

damnit. how bad is it to ride on a busted shock? everytime i hit a bump, it sounds like someone is hitting my car with a hammer.

since i gave my backup car away, and im gonna need to get around in the CL, which do you think would be best. take out both front struts, and replace with stockers, or ride around gently on the busted shock until I can send it in for repairs?

or just steal my roommates subaru?

Can you set the coil over so it rides at the same level as the stock Sping/Strut if so why not put the one stock unit in and ride that way untill you get the new part.
You don't want to hit some pot hole and really screw sumthin up. Could get very expensive and you might loose control.

I don't know how far up I can get it, but I'm sure I can get it close to stock height.

If you have stock struts and they are making lots of noise, you may need new strut mounting plates. I made the mistake of changing the struts on my daughters car and not replacing the mounting plates so, I had to do it twice.

Mantis, Do you have the full stock spring/strut assembly all put
together with the stock mounting plate in place or is that used by the coilover? I am tring to fegure out if we need a spring compesor. If so we can rent/borrow one from ORially's.

about half way thru reading that I was thinking "just steal the STI, Ben doesn't use it"

that gets my vote

Well Mantis and I got the stock strut on so he doesn't have the hamering noise anymore. Not quit as simple as some thought but not to bad. You must remove the lower strut yuoke in order to get the old stock spring and strut on.

Soooo what happened to the meet?
