"You're that close to home and driving that stupid??!! Where'd you come from? You drive like that all the way from Ft. Worth?!?" You ever seen a wreck? You ever been in a wreck? You know what would happen to your car if you rearend someone at those speeds? You see that concrete wall, those things hurt!! Give me your licence and insurance!" He looks at it for a minute, but doesn't walk back to his bike... I'm thinking there's no way i'm getting outta here with out a huge ticket... "Here, go home!"

Yep, I'm 2 for 3 when getting pulled over for speeding. No ticket last night!!!
Danny, I hate you :P I got a damn ticket monday morning just had to be a Monday, which is the day I hate most in the weeke anyway. My spree of getting out of tickets ended that day.
I am now 3 for 4. 78 MPH in a 60, damn cop didn't evern ask for my Insyurance card, just walked up to my car with his ticket book in hand and said " better luck next time" wtf ?!?!
Nice getting out of it though man

btw, congrats on the exhausts

i need new tires bad. I almost hit a concrete wall this morning turning into my parking garage. The entrance is uphill and makes a left half way up, but my car just wanted to keep going straight. Thankfully i wasn't going that fast so i hit the brakes and was able to correct.

but my crappy stock tires are going bald, so anyone know a good place around here with good deals on tires? And how are the Toyo T1-S in the rain?

This is a tough decision, there are so many people saying great things about so many tires, i don't know what to pick.

the Toyo Proxes 4s are made from the same compund as the T1-Ss, and should last 3 times longer, and are on average 25% less that the T1-Ss... Im deciding btween the T1-Ss and te Proxes 4s right now.

shawn s started a proxes 4 thread recently, check it out, i has good info.

Danny you are one lucky MF. I want to see how your new exhausts look and sound. That should also help you get the most out of your headers.

Well I didn't have to replace my ball joints, turns out the toe-in was just out of whack. Still I had to replace both front tires, they were worn to the cord on the inside edge. Two new MXs means another delay in getting my pullies.

I am in for the meet.

got the exhaust put on. Here's a tip, make sure you have plenty of liquid wrench, and a good 6 side socket instead of a 12. I rounded of one nut really good, had to go to Auto Zone and pick up a 6 sided one to finally get the nut off. That always seems to take me the longest, once every thing is loose, it's a breeze.

i called one local retailer, and they were high as hell (kauffmann tire), i did a quick search on google, and the first 2 sites that came up were significantly cheaper. i dont remember the websites though.

thanks! yep, i'll be there next Sat. I got the exhaust mostly for appearance, they look really sweet imho. The sound is deep from about 1500 rpm to ~3250 rpm, then they sound like stock again and the intake takes over. There is some droning around 2000 rpm, but the radio takes care of most of that. Hopefully it won't start to bother me. I had a Ranger for a couple years with a flowmaster muffler on it that was much louder and very annoying quickly, so i think i can handle these...

so it's official... I'm not driving this semester...
my sister is going to bring her car down and my parents are insuring her. I can't drive her car b/c I'm not insured and so she'll have to take me to this class I'm taking at the local community college on T + Th (history at UTAustin is almost impossible so I'mma take it Jr. College style). I live close to campus so it's not so difficult for my other classes but it's gonna be rough b/c only one person in our apartment has a car now and my other roommate with the GTI is moving out b/c he graduated and hasn't found a job and can't get loans to continue going to school. That also means I've gotta take on the job of head of the house and handle all finances and things that my GTI roommate used to handle. Also the furniture is half mine and half his so we're going to sell it and split the profits. Then I have to go buy new furniter that I'm only going to use for 4 months. It's really crappy and a tough situation.

I never thought it'd be this difficult without a car... I really wish I didn't have to do this now but I pissed off my folks with all my tickets and accidents and after telling them I actually need a car the other night we had this huge battle full of four letter words and whtanot. I told them I needed the car for the class I was taking and plus b/c I wanted to find a part time job. They were pissed b/c I got their hopes up about me not needing to drive.

This is really shitty.

either the 4s or these

as quoted from this thread
http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...10#post1584510

I wish someone would check them out. Consumer reports ranked them #1 with Toyo T1S #2.

They were give $50 rebates through 1/17/04.

The tires are made in Germany.

People who were driving M3s and who had previously had S-03, Michelin Pilots, and other tires loved the Goodyears, especially in the rain.

This is from Consumer Reports 11/03 (Note: they didn't make a distinction between max performance and ultra-high performance and they tested S-03, Pilot, Nero, Conti, etc):

"Ultra-high-performance tires

Best for most; a well-rounded choice:

Goodyear $135

Toyo $190

Both models offer the best blend of wet and dry performance. Paying more for the Toyo (20) buys you better handling."

Finally, they have an XL rated version in the 235/45-17 and some other sized that have a very FAT load rating and a great speed rating (No worries )

ok... so the situation changed... I just splurged today and got my own insurnace... I paid $2140 for 6 months full coverage at 50/100 coverage w/ $250 uninsured deductible and $500 collision deductible. I got in a huge fight with my pops and he gave me the title to the car. It's a huge ordeal but I needed a car desperately. It's floating on the credit cad right now until I sell my parts... I have the money to pay the insurance but it eats into my living expenses for the semester.

I got permanently kicked out of the house for this. Hopefully I'll get into med school this coming feb. 1st.

fyi I found a great place for any honda/acura or toyota/lexus repair or dealer service other than warranty,,, The place (two of them ) is called Dealer-alternative in Ft Worth. I have been working with the owner on my cl-s and he's a very street smart mechanic that only repairs what's needed. Just some info if you want to save from big buck dealer charges. PM if you need more info.
