so now i'm really getting screwed after all. The guy from discount tire calls me today and says that the place they buy wheels from doesn't have a CLS wheel, so i can bring my car in and they'll give me a temp wheel and send mine to get fixed. So, now I would get to make 4 fricken trips there, and end up with nothing for all my trouble. WTF???

What would you guys do? I'm thinking about trying to find some place that sells CLS wheels and give him the number cause i don't want this hassel.

info

I would give there customer service a call.

discount tire contacts link

Just go over there heads that is a crappy deal.
first they don't balance your tires correctly.
then they mess up one of your rims.

Just my 2 cents

a service advisor quoted me $240 for tranny flush and inspection items. i told them i already changed oil, replaced engine air filter, and cabin air filters, and rotate tires

sounds pricey..

does radiator need to be flushed at this time, or did you just want to do extra preventative maintance?

I recommend flushing all the fluids that you don't normally change (tranny, brakes, radiator). This is because we drive our cars hard and the stuff breaks down and offers less protection over time. The best thing you can do for your car is flush the fluids (and replace them with quality synthetics if you are really smart--ever wonder why RUF is so fast?)! Just my two cents worth...

The cost was 370 bucks,

I didn't get a tranny flush @ 30K b/c I already had the transmission replaced @ 12K miles. (Hence a tranny flush was already included.

Mantis, That was rediculos for that service. Ill do it for you next time for $300.

You should not pay more than about $80 for a transmission flush depending on the transmission fluid you use. But you want to be sure they actually pump out the old fluids not just drain and refill. It requires a machine specificly for this service.

Glad you got your strutt changed Mantis. Since you had experiance this time, how long did it take?

we did something really stupid which caused to to last an hour.

You know the bolt that connects the suspension yolk to the lower portion of the strut? Well we didn't unscrew it all the way, little did we realize there was a groove holding the stock strut to the suspension yolk (there isn't one on the aftermarket strut). We spent about 30 minutes yanking on it until we finally took out the screw, then it was smooth sailing from then on.

Without that little mishap, it would have taken 30 minutes.

Yeah, I got the 19s back like a couple of days later.

I still have to do some major adjusting of the ride height. I need to slam it about 1-2 inches in the front. But it will have to do for now. (It looks a hell of a lot better than it did before!)

They ended up charging 100 for the overhaul
30 bucks for an o-ring which I have no idea what its for
(i just emailed them asking what the hell im supposed to do with it.)
and 9 bucks to ship it back to me.

for a grand total of $139 smack-a-roonies. :sigh:

well i called discount tire again today and got to talk to the manager. He was very courteous, as was I when i explained the situation. He said the guy taking care of me was kinda new, and probably didn't check all the places to get wheels. He said they will be able to get one from some place or another, and it should be in Mon. So I'm cool with that.

That sounds good Danny, I have had good luck with Descount Tire. They gave me a new set of Michlins for my Durango cause I said I was not satified with the Parillies I had bought from them. I had about 20K on them too.

Mantis , glad your rollin. Have fun in Houston. I primed the girls at Legs over by Hobby Air Port on 45 for you. Ask for Charm!

When you watch the 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend (on now through tomorrow on SPEED), make sure you support these two drivers/teams:

Ron Forristall in the #86 SGS Porsche

Vaughn Duarte in the #51 DAL Racing NSX
Eric Robinson crew manager DAL Racing NSX

They are instructors with The Drivers Edge!

Cheers, Inferno

hey guys, anyone interested in going to Mazda Rev it up?? It's the competition where you race there cars and the best get to go to Laguna Seca and race.

Last year they did it with the new 6, and they're doing it again with the 3. I missed out last year, but a few guys from my work went and had an awesome time. So i'm not missing it this time. 3 friends of mine from work are going so far. We're signed up for Sun. April 4th, in the 9th time slot if anyone's interested.

any more details for the dyno / track event?

I was talking to a mod on the dallasimports.net forum at the Acura dealer. He was talking about a group dyno as well, don't know if its with you guys or not.

Unfortunately no...

They are going with ATS in Lewisville and they will be running their dyno for $40 for 3 pulls, but apparently their shop isn't setup the best and a lot of cars had to be moved in an odd way to get on the dyno (above ground).

We will be going to Lone Star Performance at their new location in garland. Ours will be running $45 for 3 pulls. As most of you should remember, our first dyno day was with them. They've gotten bigger with their new location and have become fairly involved in the Nissan community. Odd seeing as how they are primarily a Ford shop. Oh well.

I don't have the link at my fingertips, but if you check out our section on www.NissanForums.com you'll find the meet thread. It has more of the details on the track stuff...

Hope to see you guys there...

oh and mantis, I didn't realize you were honored with your own personal smillie... haha
