if you wear rubber flip-flops instead of shoes on spring break, you'll lose around a pound right there.

Casper, At last I have finnished the I30. For future referance, the strut mounting plates should be in one piece. That is the rubber gromet is supposed to be vulcanized to the metal plate.

Well after your tutorial on the removal and replacement of struts I was able to get the new $51 a piece plates on in about 2hrs. This was working alone and without a 1" socket which ment I had to crank down the spring compressor with an open end wrench. Everyone I nomally borrow tools from was gone.

Anyways thanks again for you help Casper. Now I know I will be able to change my on springs and struts myself.

Did you get your breaks done? If not give me a call I would be happy to help.

Got the pads changed out and the passenger side blead, but my rotors have small cracks coming form the cross drilled points and i think I cross threaded a lug on my drivers side... time to replace the lug bolts on the front wheels!

on a happier note... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

have a safe trip inferno, try not to have TOO much fun

I made a donation of $100 at the Hollywood last Tuesday. We were doing good been playing Blackjack for 3-4 hours drinkin having a good time and then they run a new dealer in on us and in 30 min. everyone at the table was gone.

It was very interresting. This dealer drew 6 cards for a 18 at one time.

Anyone still around? :P

I'm sort of working the 29th and 30th, but might be able to swing something on the either of those nights. I'll check back for an update.

I hope everybody had a nice Christmass. We traveled to Cleaburn to see the wifes family and then back to Highlandvillage for a good party on the lake. Good friends, naighbors, booz and cigars. All in all a good day.

OK new mod for the first gen. I put a little Funk in the Trunk. Added a Rockford Fosgate 150S Amp and RFZ3408 10" Sub in a sealed closure, in the trunk, to the Bose. It really brought the Bose to life.

I guess I get last mod for 2003. You guys got a few days left.

I would be up for a meet this week.

Anyone have experience taking out front shocks? I busted another one, and need to replace it. Figure I'd do it myself this go around.

I did my front when doing the springs and it was a cinch. Impact wrenches are a must though. They make the job 100X easier. All you'll need is a nice set of sockets and then a spring compressor. Shouldn't be more than a 1 hour job for one shock.

Now days, fuel filters are built into the gas tank and have some outrageous life expectancy... don't ask me how you replace them, but they're supposed to last forever.

hey nothing lasts forever!!!!!
theese cars have filters that need to be replaced , it did help my gas milage. you should replace the gas filter about every 50-60,000 you can even do it your self- it is located on the undercarrage of the driver side -- along the fuel line , you must buy a tool to take off the old gas line it is real easy though!

I see you have a 1st gen, I wonder if the fuel filter would be in the same place on a 2nd gen.

Hey Danny, I don't think so that should make for a 30 min job but I hate to say anything would just take 30 min.

coil-over? that's even easier.....u just unbolt everything except for the strut mount....unbolt the top bolt that holding the shock to the cap while having a floor jack under the suspension....then just lower the suspension and pull the spring/coilover out then take the shock out...no compressing or anything.

installing...just put everything in...jack up the suspension...line up the stock....and tighten that top bolt.
