It's LTI right?

No times or count down? Humm, not sure if I can make it as I was supposed to go camping tonight with my son for Y-guides.

yeah, i called WinStar asking what they had going on, and thank God i asked if the drinks were free while gambling, cuz the lady said, "oh we only have complimentary soft drinks right now". i was like, "thanx for your time." i never even got far enough to find out they only have slots right now.

i'd have been really pizzed off if i drove up there and couldn't say "double down" with a maker's mark and coke in my hand.

Mod Meet update:

well, we got the stock turbo off and the manifold and removed a good portion of the exhaust but we couldn't get the darn waste gate of the new turbo onto it. The bracket wouldn't line up. So the car is parked out in front of my house with no turbo or anything on it. oh well... time will tell

but the day was not a waste. i got my rear brake pads switched out, and a specV got his motor mount inserts installed... there were a few other small things that got done, but nothing major.

what happened bluesman. i didn't answer the phone cause i was passed out in another room when you called yesterday.

No problem Casper. Looks like good weather for your track meet. Is this a closed event or is the track open and you guys are just meeting thier.

Mantis, If you have done break lines then pads and rotors should be easy. No bleeding of the lines unless you change break fluid. Will you be replacing the stock rotors with sloted, drilled, or drilled and sloted rotors?

the track is an open event, we are mearly meeting up and cruisin out there... if yall are interested in coming, yall should cruise with us...

you have never truely cruised anywhere till you've cruised with DNE... we're insane... well some of us... lol

if you want danny, bring the Alti and we'll do it's rotors as well... brake pads and rotors are a cake walk... rotors are a bit more than just pads, but that's only because you have to take the whole caliper off... but after that... the thing just comes right off

Well we are having a full meet this saturday with the track. If you simply lookin for stock replacement you can call Courtesy Nissan or North Texas Nissan - Corinth and they'll give you a DNE discount on OEM parts. North Texas Nissan will also give aftermarket product discounts.

If you talk to Courtesy, just tell them to add the DNE discount. If you call NTN, ask for the parts manager and tell him you are apart of DNE and he'll give you a discount.

We had five STi's and two EVO VIII's at the track this weekend at Texas World Speedway (that 2.9 mile road course in College Station). The main straight is the front straight of the main oval. There were some technical turns, but pretty much it is a high speed course with on-camber turns leading to straightaways. Very different from Motorsport Ranch.

The STi was unflappable. We even had some rain and it seemed very predictable even in the wet. Since I am still somewhat novice, I would hate to say exactly what the details were like other than I seemed to catch a lot of folks in some pretty "fast" cars (I passed an NSX, a kit GT40, a 330ci BMW, STi's, EVO's, 'stang GT's, Audi's, etc). I think a really good driver would eat everyone for lunch.

The main advantage the STi had over the EVO seemed to be the three limited slips and the bigger engine (especially the front and active center diffs). No worrys coming out of corners and putting the power down!

Best part of the weekend--I was solo'ed for the final three sessions! That means I got to drive w/o an instructor in the car.

Oh yeah, and the fastest I have ever driven LEGALLY is now 130 MPH...

It was set up as a 1968 Ford GT40 and it was perfect. If he had said it was original, I would have believed him. It was average in the corners but look out on the straights! I was right behind him going onto the main straight and he took off and I didn't even stand a chance--gone. I caught him in the second half of the "S" curves at the end of the main straight, passed him coming out of the last (3rd) "S" curve and he was not even in my mirror by the time I was back at the main straight!

It was really cool--and the folks were all very nice (as always). I made friends with a second NSX owner out of Houston. They are really fast but only in the hands of a highly skilled driver. Now I know two NSX drivers! I think they are the best looking cars on the market!

we are meeting at 10:30am at TigerBulls for those that want to eat before they head out and the rest will be arriving at 11:30am. DNE will leave at noon sharp. You guys are all MORE than welcome to come along. It'll be a lot of fun.

Let me know about those brakes/rotors danny and mantis...

I think I may take you up on that rotor offer. So are you all heading to the track after TigerBulls, or doing the mods and then going?
