WOW!!!

So, I just got done driving around with my new Koni's set to 100% firm.

HOLY SHIT! That was so fucking fun!!!

Granted, I was driving around in Valley Ranch, and we have pretty nice roads around here, but it was so awesome cornering really hard and not having it plow down at all! My tires were absolutely stinking up the street by the time I got done goofing off.

When I first sat in the car after turning them, I pulled a Keanu Reeves -- "Whoa!". It didn't even notice I sat down. Didn't budge a bit.

Braking and steering response were both really nice set this way.

On a bad road, I think it'd be absolutely nauseating, but just for fun around here it was great fun.

Sharing the love,
DZ

Since my backseat is sitting in my living room right now, yes it's extremely easy to adjust. The dampers for the rear shocks stick up under the rear deck so you have to have the rear seat out to mess with them. Some guys connected extenders that push up permanently thru the rear deck lid, but that looks a little tacky unless you can hide it well.

So, I'm gonna fine tune it to my liking for the next week or so, and then put the seat back in and leave it there -- unless I go down to the track and then I'll put it back to 100% again.

Dean sold them for $580 shipped. It ain't cheap, but my stock shocks were starting to float a bit, and I'm really glad I got adjustables.

His price for Tokico adjustables were somewhere over $400, so I figured I'd go for the Koni's.

Texas World Speedway track layout:

Never been there but it should be fun--even in the rain!

ouch... do they make ANY aftermarket shocks that have the adjustable part anywhere else for you guys... i know for a fact that the KYB AGX's for the max have the adjustable thing on the strut shaft so the most you have to do is take your wheel off and that's a maybe. i'm jealous as hell though... i'm tryin to save up for some AGX's myself...

it's not an Acura or anything, but if you guys want, we MIGHT be holding a little mod meet at my place this saturday. moddin and havin some beers. The beer consumption might be a little less than usual simply because we are upgrading the turbo on an FWD SR20DET from a ball bearing T25 to a ball bearing T28 . This car already ran 13.2 in the 1/4 on street tires. It should be in the 12s after this upgrade.. hehehe

should be fun! all are welcome!

Things not to do at 7:30AM:

1) Drive down 360 trying to drink coffee with Koni Yellows set to 100% firm. Doh!

Eat breakfast before driving down 360 with Koni Yellows set to 100% firm.

I should have mine paid off by the end of the year--assuming I don't do any more mods or vacations or bad gambling trips to drain the account. My loan was almost 8% back in fall of 2000, so I'll be glad to get rid of that early.

Acura almost didn't let me out of *their* 8.5% loan. I had to fight to get them to match the lowest rate I could find elsewhere. It was a bloody battle getting the car at the agreed price and then the loan at my rate.

damn dn... such bastards... mine looked for the cheapest rate for us... and I got the car for $28350 at the time. I guess it's just dependent on how each dealership does their business.

i paid $29,600 with spoiler. it took about 3 hours of negotiating with 3 different people--probably because the CL-S was new at the time. sticker was 31,600 or something around there.

well I worked all through high school to pay off my 18K civic EX w/ leather and 4AT.
I continued to add things to it... totalling it up to about 15K worth of add ons not. Supecharger, built motor, system, interior, brakes, etc etc...

The car got stolen in February 2001. I got a check for 31K for the car and all the stuff. I've saved it as well as invested some. I ended up using my parents '91 Legend up until some lady t-boned me in summer 2002. Then I had to buy a new car and picked up my CLS in August 2002. I was doing a 60 month just incase I would have trouble making payments later on. However I ended up just paying quite a it extra each month and paid it off in a little over a year instead.

I don't like to think of it as whoring but rather as a sales position in a service industry.
