TBE (especially the downpipe) makes a HUGE difference on the WRX!!! I hope to add the Cobb 3" turbo back exhaust someday sooner than later but we will see...

Interesting discussion of the Ferodo DS3000 brakepad development history...very storied! Apparently, they developed the pad to have in Formula 1 back in the 1950's and....well, read on if you have such a technical interest!

I have resigned myself to being a "go fast in the curves" rather than a "go fast off the line" kind of driver. I don't want to spend my money on the clutch, as RUF has said. Still, I should be adding some extra pull and 13s are not out of the question even with a more conservative launch! On the right run, low 13s are easy for this car (and hard for this driver!). Blah blah blah until you do it at the track, right?

Screw straight, lets go play in the twisties!! I might not ba able to blow past you as I would in the straights, but, where's the fun in that?? Whenever you come down to Austin, lets you and me take a cruise down Lime Creek:

Not the best pic, but you get the idea.

So, has anyone heard of the Big Bend Open Road Race ? There was an article of the race in Texas Highways that caught my attention. Seems like it would be a helluva trip. It's not a balls to the wall, flat out race; instead, it is a race to see who can get the closest to their bracket's average speed target. Sounds like an awesome time. They have two races, one in April, and one in October. April is too soon to do anything about, but how about a Team Race in October?? That way, we can all race for the Team in stead of against each other.

Prices are reasonible and the event is crazy. So, what do y'all say??

^^^ Yes, I heard about it.

A friend of mine has a Panterra that he wants to enter, and the guy in the cube next to me is going to be his co-pilot.

Sounds like a lot of fun to me.

yea, i've only got about 2k posts to catch up.... that can be done EASILY!!!

Car's running pretty good. Rolled over 152k Saturday and I'm still drivin it like I stole it. Changed the axles recently and the tranny fluid is still pretty darn red, so that's a good sign .

I run into the Mantis everynow and then and I think my phone has broken up with him cause it doesn't seem to call him anymore! LOL
