Good, that's a lot closer than Japan.:P

If we're gonna hit 10,000 we better come up with something really interesting to talk about.

All I gotta say is don't mess with S2Ks in the high end stuff. I got my ass waxxed everytime by Jeff from about ~55 up to about 115.

Man, those things are fast.

On a brighter note, I took out a IS300 up to 120 from about 60 twice on the tollway, I also ran into another CL-S who gave me the thumbs up, then I showed him my taillights. (He wasn't really racing though) and also, what appeared to be a stock camaro probably needed binoculars to see my bare ass from a distance.

I had to redeem myself after that ass whipping Jeff gave me (3 times)

I'll post pics in the morning. Ohh, and one more thing, some dork blew out SOMETHING in his miata at the track. He only made it about 50 yards from the start line. It was hilarious. They had to wipe up all the transmission fluid (at least I think it was transmission fluid) which took about 45 mins. but it was still a hoot none the less. I got video of him cruising down the track at a whopping 15 MPH.

All in all, fun night!

hey mantis, i may have beat you on the highway, but you handed my ass to me on the track. And on the highway, whew you still put up a good fight, i barely pulled away from you. Nice video of the miata, dude that is hilarious!!!!

Also, nice kills on the way home. I had a couple of run ins, i was about to race this mr2 with a funky body kit and a honda civic hatchback, but i had just lost my last bar of gas on the gas meter and had been running on the fuel light for at least 20 miles, so i had to exit and chicken out, hehe

Next time mantis, i wanna run you again on the track, but this time, im gonna rev it to 7000 rpm and just dump it and make sure it stays in first gear this time.

Allsock, what happened man!! I thought you were gonna come out with us?

Sounds good. As long as you have one hand on the shifter, you shouldn't pop out of 1st like last time. 7000 stills sounds unhealthy IMHO, but if people have done it successfully before without hurting anything, I guess it won't hurt to try it and see what happens.

Hey Allsock, we missed you at the track, I hope you get to come out next time!

Here are a few pics of Jeff's headers. He just had them installed the night before (right, Jeff?)

Out of all the pics taken of the outside, this was the best one because it was the brightest. Its a little blurry due to the fact that the shutter was open for two seconds, and its hard to keep still.

Here's my trusty old ride, its blurry cause I couldn't keep my ass still for 2 seconds while I took the pic.

awsome pics man!! That is a great camera. Yeah, we had just finished putting on the header the night before. From looking at the old time slips before the header, i shaved off 4 hundredths of a second, WOOHOO!!! haha

The videos rock, miata boy had to be hating life. What does the s2 run in the 1/4? I figured it would rape a cl. BTW nice rides I need to star modding soon. I have been looking for a turbo or super charger but there isnt much out there I guess CAI and headers are the best combo? I would kind of like to go wild and get about 350 to 400 from the enginer but it seems as thou it is about impossible.

s2 ran 13.53 hehe jk, actually i have a time slip that says i ran that, but thats so wrong. Im only running 15 in 1/4, but as soon as i figure out how the hell to launch the car in vtech and keep it in there, and keep the shifter in first gear, it should drastically improve, hehe

Yeah, right now headers & CAI are our best bolt on options. Supercharger may come out late this year. You'd probably have to drop 6-8 grand for a custom turbo. I'm sure it can be done, and I hope someone does it. *hint* *hint* :P

I was looking at the vortec specs. I wonder if you could modify a root type s/c to work with the 3.2l? It would seem the biggest issue would be adapting the mounting to work. I would think you could run 6 or 8 lbs of boost on our car with out any issues.I bet you could get 80hp and at least 50ft/lbs of torque. I see they make one for hanzies ride.Adds 108 horsepower and 61 ft/lbs of torque. When are you adding it

Hmm, you'd have to do a bit of plumbing to get it to work. Someone just posted about adapting the AV6 S/C to the CL-S. However, I think it's a 3.5L engine from the MDX. I'd think it might be easier to go this route. But then again, I don't know much about installing S/Cs.

oh yeah allsock, i have already looked into that vortech kit for my car. I have my mechanic trying to become a distributor for Vortech, he hasnt heard back yet. My mechanic told me that its gonna be about 1000 dollars to install that kit, but well worth it i think. Im saving my pennies hehe. Its gonna be at least a year before i get it cause i want to make sure i get all the warranty work done and all the querks solved on this car before i void it completely.

What's up fellas. Sorry I missed the track night Fri. but I'll definately try to be there next time.

I met up with some CA members and got to see some nice rides. Comptech exhaust looks much better in person. I don't know if it's worth the $500-$600 but it looks hella nice. I rode in a CL with the headers and they seemed to help a lot in the higher speeds like from 80 to 100. I thought I would feel it more than I did, but it was probably cause of the 85 degrees, 2 people in the car, and a full tank of gas. I really need to order my Comptech springs, all the cars I saw were dropped and they looked sooooo good.

Well, I ordered a Vortech V-9 g trim. I have a buddy thats want to buy the same model, so I figure I will try and make it work, but if not I can always sell it. Show and Go Chrome will supposedly bend up a intake line if I make a mockup for them. I am going to work on it this weekend, if it gets here. If not maybe I will start trying to weld up a bracket for it. Hanzie do you have to relocate the alternator to make a s/c fit in you ride?

You could use a saddle splice on the line running to the parking lights. And then run a led system into the shift nob some how?Led 's are small cheap and require little power.

Allsock, can you show me pics of what you bought?

Jeff, that shift knob is pimp.

EDIT: I found pics allsock. Dayum! I can't believe you ordered that thing! !!!

How long before it gets here? How long before you think you could possibly get it in? You're a hero, and if you get that thing in and working before anyone else, you'll be a legend!

You could run a wire back from the knob to the switch box and locate the line feeding the parking lights, or tap into the wire coming from the parking light switch. Saddle taps are nice because you dont have to cut any wires and they are easy to crimp on. You just got to make sure it is fused.

allsock,

No from what i read, the supercharger system will perfectly fit in a stock car. They give you everything you need to put the kit on. No relocation or anything.

Also, i bought a shift knob that has an led in it, it also has wires coming out of the shift knob. They also gave me a relay of some sort it looks like. But the problem is that i have no idea what the hell to do with it. What the hell is a saddle splice??? hehe sorry i know nothing about electronics.

So, you just bought the supercharger and thats it??

Well actually one of me best buds is a gearhead to the extreme. He bithched at me for buying a 6 cylinder and then proceed to try and figure out how to make it fast. He is the one that put the idea in my head of supercharging it. Between the two of us we have a good collection of welders, lathes and other metal working tools so I hope we can make it work. BTW the one in the picture is satin but if it works I will have it and the Intake chromed. I looked at turbos but they give shitty torque and are rather expensive for the return. Supposedly this unit will net approx. 110 hp and 80 ft.lbs of torque.

I posted a question about it under the cars general section, but I got no response. I am looking at fuel rails and an intercooler if it works i will buy them. The main thing is getting it to bolt up right and the air piping. and a oiller fitting location. I believe I am going to be forced to move the alternator to a diffrent location to make it work. I went with 6 pounds of boost, I kind of figured thats safe. Who knows if it works cool, if not I will try something else.

I went there to just get a quote at the one in frisco. and it was a bit expnsive. The service rep was cool, but the install guy was an ass.
