Dr Vinh and Mr Civic I presume.

I've got a bottle in my attic, but never installed it. It was for my SS, a 150HP set up. Too bad, it would have been fun.

Just make sure you READ everything before installing it. You do not want to screw anything up . . . it's a real problem if you do.

Mantis,

Thanks for all the leg work on this. Appreciate.

Where exactly is the other one located?

Also, was the $50 for the Plano store for a group of 10 discount?

Hmm, now that i think about it, i was pretty stupid too.. getting up to 70 in a residential area.. err.. yeah
But it was still fun putting the kids in their place. Flicking people off? tsk tsk
If you keep this up, we'll have to change your name to "BadboyBlue"

ahhhh really? damn that sucks... wish I could have seen some pics of that SS. Anyways I just sent teh check out today. I'm hoping the guy doesn't rip me off is all. It's a lot of money for me to be sending by money order. I made sure to get a signature for the pickup and everything. Sent it 2-3 day priority so should get my kit in less than a week and a half.

Inferno and Mantis.

If either of you can, I'm planning on making a run over to my brother's paint and body shop over in Garland.

I'm going to talk to him about the WDP II mod.

Inferno, I also want to talk some more about the WDP I mod as well.

And Danny, as soon as I work out the details for these custom mods, it will be shared at the next meet. So you don't want to miss out.

BTW - both mods are performance oriented mods. I plan on having them dyno'd to see what the do. I'm hoping at least 4-10HP for each, total of 12-18HP.

Don't sweat it. I don't think you'd have been able to use any of the parts, except for the bottle, and it was a big bottle at that. So you would not have wanted it.

OK ladies,

Here is the last message I received on the Dyno. Its from the dyno shop in lewisville http://www.txspeedworks.com/ I think its a pretty good midway point for North Dallas & Arlington/Funky Town folks.

I'll let the email speak for itself ...
To: <mantis@thefiresauce.com>
Subject: Re: Group Dyno Costs

We offer the group deal at 15 cars at the least and then the rate drops to $40 a car. Normal price $60 for three pulls with air fuel. And yes we can set it up for the 23rd.

Thanks
Speedworks

P.S. Tell all your friends that Speedworks now has a subsidiary company, Speedworks tire and wheel wholesale. We also have tire mounting and balancing machines on site.

Subject: Group Dyno Costs

FROM: Aaron Pryor
SENT: 10/30/02 @ 6:17PM

I have about 8-10 people who would like to do a group dyno most likely on November 23rd. I would like to get a price list for group dynos to take back to my buddies.

Thanks

With that said, I think we can round up 15 folks at $40.00 a pop. We are more than halfway there.

Can we get another tally?

Civic, you got mail -

Mantis, I'll leave you a PM with my mobile#. Call me if you're up before 11am. :P

BTW - $40 for 3 pulls, that's a great deal. The only thing that might cause me some pain is the additional time we'll need to get 15 cars through the system. Any idea of how long that'll take?

for three pulls on a car, it will probably take 30-45 mins per car, considering the strapping of the car to the dyno, and then if someone decides they want the car to cool down between runs, which i hope we dont do cause that will take up alot of time. Also, they have to hook up all the equipment to the car etc.....

If we want to pay $10.00 to get out of there quicker, thats cool with me. At this point, its just a matter of whether or not we want to pay $40 or $50 bucks.

Its takes 30-45 minutes to hook up a car? I thought it went by faster than that..

I'd be willing to do $10 buck more, or even 40 bucks for 2 pulls.

Thoughts?

Sorry for the off topic post, but since this is DFW based

I just ordered replacement front shocks for my 99 3.0CL and need to see if anyone on the board here has the tools and is willing to help me save some money on the install. I will rent a spring compressor, I just need some one with a jack (and jack stands), and the sockets and ratchets suffiecent for pulling the spring/shock assembly out and putting the new shock in. I just had the springs installed, so the bolts are not going to be a problem.

If you can help me (so I only need to pay for an alignment), I would really appreciate it. I'll bring the beer

Please PM me or email me if you can help.

hey Chris... make sure you get someone with an impact wrench... it's it's so easy to strip that hex on the stock struts. I had tons of issues when I put in my springs... I'd help but I'm in Austin... sorry...

no i was thinking 30-45 mins for the whole time a car dynos, the hook up, and equip hook up, and the three pulls, (considering the three pulls are right in a row, no cool down time between pulls) and then you gotta unhook all the shit

Ruf, Inferno, Civic, heh, I had a rough morning, sorry I couldn't make it.

I finally got my car ack today. The sound quality in there is unbelieveable. I'm not an audiophile, but I think its sounds excellent.

It goes back in Monday for some lighting / finishing touches. I can't believe they got that kinda sound of the stock head unit.

Danny/Chris,

I've got a jack and jack stands you could borrow, but I've got a busy day Sunday. If you are not going to do it until sometime next week let me know.

Great! If you get them soon maybe you and Chris can have a Spring fling. :P j/k

I can't wait until mine get installed either. Another 2 weeks on my shoulder and I might be able to pull it off.

LOL Came home with the cows did ya? :P

I can't wait to hear how it sounds! Especially since you are using the stock head unit!!

As for hooking up, the weather put a bit of a damper on it to say the least. Civic and Inferno made it. I got a couple of ideas on the WDP II mod, but my brother thinks I'll have to wait for the Icebox to see whether it will be a worth while mod or not. But we did get some idea of where to look for the parts.

Anyway, Inferno's new tires look really good and feel about as soft as the Proxes T1-S rubber. And for about a 1/3rd of the price they are certainly worth looking at.

Inferno and I also went to grab some TexMex for lunch, but Civic had to run.

Too bad it keep raining, we really wanted to see how Inferno's TLS w/CT Headers would do against Civic's 6-speed CLS.

Long time no talk

Hey guys, it's been a bit of time since I've chimed in on this thread, so I thought I'd say hello while I had a second.

RUF, how's the shoulder? I can't believe how long it's taking to get some info on the Ice Box. I get the feeling it's gonna be a "We determined it wasn't a problem. You guys still want them?" reply from Dean. I'm not knocking Dean at all, cuz he's cool.

Would you be interested in meeting up and doing the Ice Box upgrade to both our cars at the same time when they ship? I'm dropping my CL-S off tomorrow for the springs / sways / header / plugs work at CTC Motorsports. I couldn't wait on the Ice Box. I don't really have the resources available to do much stuff by myself down here. All my tools didn't make the move from Cincinnati, so I'd really appreciate any help doing the install.

Mantis, what did you do to the audio system? I've been thinking about doing some mods there, but I've heard that the head unit and all the speakers are 2-ohm, so everything would have to be gutted out to upgrade.

What's the WDP II mod? I'm not good at guessing acronyms.

I can't wait until mine get installed either. Another 2 weeks on my shoulder and I might be able to pull it off.

LOL. I just ordered the shocks, so they won't ship until monday I would guess (www.nopionline.com). We they come in I will get with Danny and RUF (thanks for the offers) to see if we can bang this out. Should take long, just 3-4 bolts and some compressing Depending on my mood, I may just buy the socket set (I need to anyway) and try to hook it up (still might want to hook up with you guys for an extra hand though).

On a side note, looks like we are going to try and move by the 15th. Much bigger house with large garage. So now maybe I can start replacing my tools

Once I am in there, we will have a mini-meet at the house and piss off my new neighboors over off Alta Vista in Arlington :o j/k, I got to figure out how to get up enough speed to coast into the garage from down the steet so the neighboors don't paint ricer on the house LOL.

Hey deeznuts, I'm completly gutted out everything.. replaced all speakers, all wiring, amp, Dynamat / foam galore, custom box, hand built RCAs, new battery, alternator, fuses..

top put it short, everything but the head unit has been changed... which will be out shortly.

Hey guys, unfortunately I don't have internet at home, so I rarely get to check the boards during the weekend. Yesterday my stang buddies and I replaced my y-pipe. We ran into quite a few problems. Mainly whoever worked on that portion of the car last screwed up and cross threaded the two O2 sensors into the y-pipe. That added an unfortunate $150 to replace. The overall install took around 5 hours, but DAMN is it worth it. The sound is deeper and my car is definitly spunkier . Damn rain won't go away so I can't really put the pedal to the metal without slipping .

I don't mind spending the day with everyone on Dyno Day. Maybe it's the college student, lack of funds mentallity, but I don't mind taking a little longer for cheaper. I think we can definitly get 15 people with all of us plus the maxima ppl plus danny's stang friends and my stang friends. I haven't checked the maxima board yet, but i'm gonna go see how we stand over there
