Okay...so, what's Malkin out with? I thought he had a clean bill of health this season?

general soreness. first they said it wasn't related to the knee surgery, now they are saying it is his surgically repaired knee that is sore. better to have him sit a few games early on than to get hurt near the end of the season.

orpik back tonite from abdominal/hernia surgery.

They're saying it's soreness from the knee repair surgery in the area where his knee was stitched back up

Speaking of goalies, Varlamov was impressive in last night's loss to the Hawks. He made some jaw-dropping saves...

He definitely showed his high price in draft picks yesterday...

A thank you would be nice every once in a while. Raask, Seguin and last night's pick-me-up of the slumping Bruins.

If there's anything else we can do to help out the city of Boston just let us know, always glad to help.

But, you gotta be at least happy with Kessel's production so far...?

Meh, I'll be happy when it does it consistently. He gets in these streaks where he scores tons of goals and then goes silent for 3 weeks. Until I see differently I remain skeptical.

Thanks for drafting Shawn Thornton back in 97, we weren't smart enough to do it.

Could you possibly nuke montreal for us, we've never really liked them.

Oh yeah, it's Rask with one "a". 2 "u" and 2 "k" in Tuukka though.

Well, they have a nice and tidy 4-1-1 record. Don't laugh too hard. Take the blow-out aside from last night, the games I've seen them play have been pretty good.

I think if the can maintain their type of play that won them 4 games so far, they will make some noise this season.

If anything, the team that is surprising me are the Blue Jackets. I did not expect them to be winless given the big moves they made.

Was he really a Leaf draft pick?

How about that scripted bout last night between Thorton and Orr. Apparently they talked about it in the pre-game warm up.

Those are the types of fights I want out of the game.

Most analysts I saw had them in the bottom 5 or 10 in terms of rankings for this season. I see no surprise here.

Dallas on the other hand is a big surprise.

Well, let me be clear: I did not see them as a top West team...but, to be winless is a bit of a surprise.

I did not foresee them to be terrible.

he credits the Leafs minor league system for where he is today. I thought it was a good bout. Yeah it was right off the faceoff but that's how Thornton sparks the team.

what a boring game. at least we got the SO.

Interesting stat: The Penguins are 20-4-2 against New York in the last 26 meetings. Fleury is 9-0-2 in that span.

yeah, it was a pretty boring game, just glad there was no ambush like there was last year. Fleury got robbed of his shutout the other night so I was glad to see him get this one. He's been lights out lately

Thanks for the non-negative criticism . We are certainly playing much better than anyone predicted. A lot of young guys with some veterans and they seem to be giving their all. Some good comeback wins too, such as last night.

Well, I'm not using Chicago as any benchmark...but, I know the Stars were a handful against them in that back-to-back series to start the season.

Hell, Dallas was the only team to deny Chicago of any points so far.
