I have not heard them swear yet at this age...however some can get a bit pissed.....but then I just throw them in the sin bin if they get out of hand.

Is Penner lazy? Perhaps, sure.

Is Penner known to be out of shape? Yup.

Is Penner talented? Yup, no doubt.

So why is Penner the least productive player on the Kings roster?

Mix an out of shape player, with some laziness, then add a coaching system that demands defensive responsibility, and you get a fish out of water.

Penner is a decent to sorta good player at best. In the Kings system, he is one of the worst.

 

Having Penner on your team is an insult to the rest of the squad and the prospects who work their tails off in the minors.

I've seen the guy play enough...I was supremely shocked (and even said so) when the Kings traded for him and even more shocked at what the Oilers got back.



Anyhow, your team's problems. Lombardi certainly tried to add some scoring punch at the time but, c'mon...really? Of all the choices, Penner?

Point is that Penner can & will be better in a different system.

It was a roll of the dice on Penner.

I'd make a bet that if Terry Murray gets the axe, and a new more free wheeling system comes into play, Penner would be quite different.

I would have like to have seen him gone midway through last season....IMHO.

Will he be done this season? I think for sure if they don't get into and or out of the 2nd round.

It's still early on, but the lack of 5 on 5 scoring is still troubling the team.
Kings are excellent defensively....all around....5 on 5, or on the PK.

PP has improved greatly this year, but the goals for stat is horrible.

Terry Murray (IMHO) is a great coach, but the way the game is played in the "new" NHL.......it has passed him by.

I give him huge credit for establishing a defensive system when the team had limited talent.....but now with the depth and talent on this roster he has become a ball and chain. He is limiting the team's potential.
