Limiting the free find my phone to iPhone 4 typical apple bullshit! No reason why it won't work on the iPhone 3G and 3GS like it has for the past two years. Hopefully the jailbreak community will come along and remedy this artificial limitation

Yup, they disclosed it'll only work on the iPhone 4, and latest iPod and iPad IIRC.

Apple isn't sending me my verification email. I signed up hours ago in the mobileMe settings and it hasn't sent my verification email yet. I tried resending it and still nothing. Anyone else having this issue?

 

My co-worker came by a half hour ago and told me that he's having problems just getting to his account. Could just be that the site is really slow with all the people that want to sign up for accounts to make use of the Find my iPhone feature.

 

3 hours to download 600MB???

Yeah it's in iPhone settings. Tried that already. I'm actually trying it on my iPad since it's the only one on 4.2.1

IIRC, i heard from a friend that knows someone that works at apple.

the day the iPhone 4 was available to preorder, so many people were trying to preorder that there was smoke coming from their servers.

 

hopefully that new data center they opened or are opening will help

 

Just noticed the changes in safari.

No more + button. It's an arrow pointing out of a box. Let's you add a bookmark, book mark to homescreen, mail link and print.

Also like engadget, don't really like how they implemented "find on this page"
You gotta type the term into the google search bar, then scroll past all the suggested search terms and goto "on this page" then click on "find (search term)"..

It's a little long to get to, but I like it more than the JavaScript based search I had setup in my bookmarks.

I can't remember exactly what page it was on but the white iPhone was briefly brought up. I've been debating on replacing my 3G with a 4 so I've been on the Apple site quite a bit. I have the Apple Store App on my phone and checked it out today and saw that they added the white iPhone back:





But when you go to select the different colors and memory options, you can only choose black:

 

They already announced the white getting pushed back to next year.

 

That's what I thought. I was just surprised it's shown on the site/store.

 

Do we know why the white isn't available, is it the off white button that is the problem? Do we really like white? I have the pieces sitting here to convert to white but I'm still unsure if I want a white one

4.2 fixes the dock music issues, thankfully.

 

If you guys want more TV content, PlayOn has a sale for $5 for the first year (normally $20). It lets you watch videos and stuff through your iPhone (or 360 or PS3) like the free hulu.com, cbs.com, ESPN3, Comedy Central, and others. A little more than Skyfire ($3) but probably faster. Skyfire doesn't allow ESPN3 and you can watch mlb.tv and nhl.tv if you have a subscription. The only thing is that you have to have a home computer running as it streams from there to your device. Plus you have to cancel an upgrade within 14 days called RealPlayer Superpass which shouldn't be an issue.

I can't speak for those who still have issues via USB on aftermarket head units, but on my iSimple, it was simply not usable. There was too great a delay on the unit receiving a signal back from the iPhone and it would keep switching to IPOD NOT CONNECTED/IPOD CONNECTED. You couldn't select a playlist, song, artist or anything. You could barely change songs.

In a word, 4.1 rendered music in the car unusable. Stuff like Slacker still worked great, but controlling the iPod part of the iPhone wouldn't work.
