so, apparently this is a common problem... people with US iTunes accounts, when using their iPhones abroad or anywhere OUTSIDE of the US (I'm currently on a "long" visit to Vancouver BC/Canada), won't be able to buy anything (music, apps etc etc)... It'll keep saying that the form of payment has been declined (even though the credit card is fine). I'm curious if it'll work with iTunes gift card

Installing Android on an iPhone OG or 3G just got a lot easier. You don't even need a computer to do it anymore, well I guess you do since you need to JB first of course. After you JB just install the bootlace app version 2.1 then open bootlace install Openboot and then iDroid from within that app. I just did it and it was really easy. You can use pwnage tool to JB iOS 4.1 on an iPhone 3G and you'll be on your way

all the details are here

and I've got to say this Android 2.2 seems more stable than the version I installed months ago, it's almost usable. I'd say it's early beta stage while the previous version I installed I wouldn't even call it alpha quality.

http://lifehacker.com/5693309/how-to...six-easy-steps

the only issues are performance and power management and i dont think the camera or bluetooth work

Steve Jobs shrinks down to action figure size, ego remains untouched
By Sean Hollister posted Nov 20th 2010 5:39PM

Whether he's playing hero or villain in your personal technology drama, Apple CEO and marketer extraordinaire Steve Jobs likely has a role -- and now the dramatis persona has his very own action figure to help you act it out. For $80, Jobs comes complete with his trademark black turtleneck and rimless glasses, nicely crinkled Levi's jeans, a pair of New Balance sneakers, a miniature iPhone 4 and a truly epic beard. He's even got an Apple logo to stand on and a set of speech bubble cards, which hopefully work with a dry erase marker considering how often the man comes up with juicy new quotes. See the astounding level of detail at our source link, or even grab one for yourself.

What's the deal with Ultrasn0w!? They haven't updated to support the baseband that came with 4.1 and we're about to move to 4.2.1! I've been waiting to update my friend's 3G but I can't until the unlock is released. Is ultrasn0w the only app that does unlocking?

And what's with this naming convention? They need to go back to the drawing board with that shit! Yellowsn0w, Redsn0w, blackra1n, limera1n. That shit is gay and confusing. Seriously, rename that shit something that when people hear it they know what it is. Like turn Ultrasn0w in to iPhone Unlocker or fucking iUnlocker or some shit not fucking Ultrasn0w.

I know I can update with out updating the baseband but I don't want to cause it's not my phone, so I don't want to fuck it up. If it was mine I'd probably do it but not someone elses.

Upgrading without touching the baseband is fairly foolproof. I've used pwnagetool on 95% of my jailbreaks. Make sure you download an ipsw that's compatible with the 3G (I had issues when a 3GS ipsw wouldn't load into my buddies 3G), create custom ipsw and restore with iTunes if you have his hashes backed up on Cydias server.

They say their ultrasn0w update is on the verge of being released

Major kudos to Apple for making Find My iPhone free in 4.2. It's a good enough reason to update my wife's phone for sure.

Which is supposed to be out at 1pm EST. Debating whether or not to go ahead and update to see if the audio problems got fixed.

Ahhh, well, not everyone that goes in the other thread comes in this one, and vice versa.

Hopefully F-C doesn't ban me now that he's a mod for that last rick-roll.
