Cases and such, talk to me, what are you doing?

I don't want to drop more than $10 to start with until better cases come out. I bought a 4s pouch/sleeve that will work until a can get a better one.

I normally use a Mophie battery case, but they'll take a while getting new ones out.

 

I'm just gonna leave the plastic film on until speck comes out with a case.

 

The only cases I've used on my iPhone3G and now my iPhone4 are the Belkin Silicone cases along with a PowerSupport Screen Protector and my phones have held up very well. Every user is different of course, but just wanted to share what has worked fine for me.

 

 

I prefer cases that come up over the edge of the LCD display so that I don't have to get a screen protector. (Love the feel of glass over the tacky feeling of a screen protector). But those types of cases usually put some bulk on the phones.

I got one of the very same cases for the Galaxy S3 I'm (perhaps temporarily) using, which should be coming in the mail today.

Edit: @tekno: Guess the Iphone 5 doesn't need a sturdy case... the S3 (made of cheap plastics) apparently does.

I'm considering making my own case with the 3D scanner and 5-axis mill we have at school... just not sure if the alloys from the case would have a negative effect on the phone's antennas...

 

I've ran the otterbox for the longest until I got my projector case. I wonder how long it will take brookstone to make one for the 5.

Funny shit, I went to go look at the 5 and while I was there I told a GHETTO chick I have the EXCLUSIVE 5S when she asked about my phone( I was projecting a music video) She really got mad and yelled at the sales associate when he didn't know what she was talking about. I ran out.

 

I saw this one this morning. The took a key across the screen with no scratches. they were able to fracture the iPhone5 screen, but you should see how they did it.

 

 

I don't like the display covered as well. I like these, might have to get one.

So I left the Apple 'preauthorization' form signed and on our front door but they didn't deliver the packages. Kinda pissed. I stayed up till 3AM to preorder and yet friends walk into BB and get one right away.

 

Yeah, that's why I didn't take that chance. I've asked my dad to visit my place and just wait for FedEx. Told him I have a few cases of Samuel Adams Oktoberfest.

 

So just curious, why do you need a case now with AppleCare+ . Scratch it or damage it get a new refurbished one.

I'm just meticulously anal about my electronics. I try to keep my brand new device safe from harm, rather than just throw it around and go through the hassle of getting a refurb.

I remember when i had my 3G, i had a case on it for a month before i took it off cause it just didnt look or feel as good!

I do the same with my Nexus S too, although i dropped it a couple weeks ago and have cracks traveling across the screen

I ordered one on eBay earlier this week for 5$. We shall see if it it actually fits the 5. It was advertised for it at least...

In the mean time I will probably head to AT&T and pickup whatever they have. I'll return it once I get the eBay one.

Besides, I just got the Urban Armor Gear case for my S3 and it makes it look better. Will definitely be buying one for my fiance's Iphone 5, when they're released in Oct.

 

erm, after following the activation and restoring from iCloud on wifi, I still have no service.

 

I wasn't getting ANY service earlier today despite turning on cellular, LTE, data roaming. I had to go under SETTINGS-->GENERAL-->RESET-->RESET ALL SETTINGS


Biggest surprise was that the LTE icon came on. From what I understood, AT&T LTE wasn't coming to Philly till closer to Thanksgiving...

 

BTW.

I just got back from Best Buy and they had PLENTY of cases available.

They're calling it "The New iPhone" I presume because it was all manufactured before Apple decided they were going to call it the iPhone 5.

Anyways they had otter boxes, Rocketfish hard and soft cases, as well as some Griffin ones. They even had Invisible Shield protectors available.

I picked up a rocketfish clear TPU (soft rubber) case for 25$. Chose clear because the back of the new iPhone is beautiful.

Done.
