The guy is dead, we don't know what would have happened. It was him who wanted away from Google. Apple made them a TON of money. IIRC Google on Apple devices brought them in more income than their phones and the others combine. But I can't remember where I read or heard that.

Looks very easy to fix the screen should you crack/break it.

For Apple, you couldn't preorder for store pick up, so you could give it a try. Not sure about ATT. Verizon posted this to their FB tonight. "Get iPhone 5 from Verizon. Available tomorrow at 8am EDT online and in stores at 8am local time."

The excuse some sap of a "journalist" is going to use for the rest of apple's life will forever be:

Steve Jobs wouldn't have done this.

Its a bunch of horseshit. Jobs felt slighted by Google when they released Android. He WOULD have done things exactly how they happened. And when the bugs in maps popped up, he would have had a meeting a blasted the iOS team responsible.

They act as if Jobs never made a mistake. Or always released flawless bugless products at launch.

People are fucking idiots.

dont quote me on this, but android is a free software, some samsung and the likes dont have to pay google anything, just need to follow certain guidelines. So technically from Android they wont get money on maps or other google apps that didnt have ads.

Did they even charge apple though??

Sometimes I wonder how the hell google makes this much money to support all their projects...

"We believe Google Maps are the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps in the world," Google said in a statement. "Our goal is to make Google Maps available to everyone who wants to use it, regardless of device, browser, or operating system."
-statement from google. So it would seem they should be releasing an app eventually. Who knows when they started working on it. They did have a youtube app ready right away though.

Some rumors point to one coming in christmas. Others say google already submitted it, just waiting on apple approval, although this one may have been debunked.

I don't like the new Apple Maps. A HUGE reason for me using the maps app is to see traffic when I go to work and go home. Google maps shows where it is slow or moving just fine (green, yellow, red) but the new maps shows none of that, it only shows a construction sign or closed road. Crap.

They kept showing all week bunch of morons camping in front of Apple in the city. People said they took time off from work for the interaction. How sad is that? A few hundred dollar device vs a week's pay check to interact with other morons. Win? rofl

PS I'll only unpackage my iPhone when I'll get home from work. At least I didnt have stand in line anywhere, and just go about my day.

Google gave maps free to everyone for a long time. They used that experience to gather all of the data that does make them the best at maps. Having people use the software made them better. Then once they had it going on, they started to charge the companies that depended on their maps.

You mean it shows the traffic flow (green, yellow, red/black)? My app doesn't show that and I know for sure I have traffic on...

Umm, since when having something the size of a guy's most favorite electronic device in the house is a problem? We clinch tv remotes all day long at home. It's a manly thing!

My coworkers have the Samsungs, they need to form a cradle in their hand to operate them. At least you know you won't have too. It's time to buy pants with longer pockets, with iPhone 6 in the making :P

I see it on mine. But when I really want to know what traffic is like, I use Waze.

I use waze along with google maps. But I use waze more for watching for accidents/police and jam alerts, but google maps is much better at showing traffic flow.
