Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
the whole shipping lapse thing doesnt surprise me much. i can only imagine the amount of traffic and sheer volume that they are experiencing in the last 5 hours.
i'm just going to pick mine up at the store in a few weeks.

Well thats some happy horseshit....My phone isnt eligible until Feb....because I gave my wife my upgrade when her phone was stolen...
Her phone isnt eligible until Dec. 25
Im sorry...they are for the "early upgrade" fees which are retarded...Guess we are waiting to get the full discounts.
AT&T appears to have changed their one year upgrade policy....fuckers.

AT& T allows an upgrade like 1.5 years after your contact begins
(always did)
I'm still a bit confused of what the hell is a default plan with 10,000 minutes, and why my old voice plan or an option to add a voice plan was not presented to me.
It said my monthly billing will be $50... yeah effen right. Oh well, till next Friday it is

Oh, that will happen, if you have iPhone now, Get the Apple Store app, once this gets going you can check inventory for the iPhone on it. It will tell you which stores in your area have which phone you want. When shown, you can use app to buy and pick it up the next day. At least that how they did it with the 4s.
macrumors forums confirms it. At&t is fucking over all their loyal iphone customers by taking away our one year upgrade ability at the full discount...and it is royally pissing TONS of people off. Way to stay loyal to your customers.
If Verizon had data/voice I'd would seriously think about switching.

Me, I was able to upgrade from the 3GS to the 4 at full discount, and could have upgraded to the 4S at full discount as well.

I went from the 3GS to the 4. And people went from the 4 to the 4S.
But now they are claiming its a 20 month wait. Which is bullshit. by my math...my phone is on a 18 month wait based on when I had to use my last upgrade to replace my wife's stolen phone. And she will be eligible after like 15 months.
Basically, AT&T has their heads up their asses and they are trying to be greedy.
Don't start scaring me with this "i figured it out'... I was half asleep at 5am...
Talking to someone as they are sending you an email that you must review... It has its uses. Or googling stuff while you are on the phone with someone. DATA transmissions pause when you are on the phone, period.

If you had an iphone and you were paying more than just the bare bones plans, then you were eligible to upgrade after about year.

I see, just sayin it wasn't the case for my sister.
Where did AT&T say this? I just thought in the past they were being nice and letting people upgrade early.
Actually I'm going to guess its a bit of both. There were reports of Sharp having issues getting production of screens up to snuff.
Low stock, plus I believe there were many people like me with iPhone 4, who waited to upgrade to 5, that's a huge customer base. My 4S friends, most are not upgrading.

Sarlacc, it's up to you man! Maybe next time they'll have it like AT&T.

Agreed, I was told I couldnt upgrade until march, which is total horse shit seeing as I bought the phone last August.
Isn't AT&T aware I'm paying for it?
I'm really surprised to hear that Sprint won't be supporting voice and data on the new iPhone. It is possible with their network, my Evo has an LTE chip and does SVDO even though they don't advertise it.

more incessant bitching.
WHY do you HAVE to have an iPhone 5 now?
You don't. Ive made due with iPhone 3GS for the last 3 years. and Ive been just fine.
thanks a lot for that pic. I just shut up a few haters on my FB.

Adapter availability has also become a point of concern. The iPhone 5 will be delivered to users starting next week, however, Lightning Adapters will apparently not be available until some time in October, so the first round of customers will not be able to test their prior accessories with the iPhone 5 until well after the phone arrives. Apart from one brief and apparently erroneous hint during the iPhone 5 ordering process, Apple has not suggested that the iPhone 5 or new iPhones will include Lightning Adapters. According to a dialogue box spotted by TheNextWeb during iPhone 5 pre-ordering this morning, Apple’s web site told some European customers that the iPhone 5 “includes a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter,” and offered the purchase of “this additional adapter to have a second adapter for your home or office.” Some time afterwards, Apple changed the language to omit references to the “included” and “additional” adapters, with sales representatives describing the text as “an error.”
So no adapter is included?

is it that big of a deal?
