mizouse is correct. i thought the upgrade thing didn't matter since this was a new release and not on the shelves already.
sorry to say, but you're asking for a lot of luck, as in you better hope their servers crash with the amount of traffic they're gonna get. And long enough for you to wait till morning haha.
Am I feel like the screen size upgrade they made is a joke and that they are still behind the times? I love the looks of the phone. I can't go so far backwards in screen size. I had a screen that was that wide 4 phones ago. I didn't think they would make the phone much wider, figured only like a 1/4", but figured they would at least do something. I was hoping to actually be able to consider one this time around but I guess not.
And I dont want the iphone any wider. In its current form it was the perfect size. I'm hoping the added length will be nice...but it wont fit in my pockets the same anymore.
I've held and used all these "bigger" phones. IMO they are obnoxious.
I'm going to wait to upgrade my iPhone. I've had my iPhone4 for two years and it still works well. There's nothing revolutionary about the iPhone5 and I felt the same about the 4S. As long as I can get the iOS update on my phone I'll be happy. I imagine if my phone's battery holds up for an additional two years and iOS7 can be installed on it I could go that long without upgrading.
I'll take a BETTER screen thats a little smaller any day over a screen thats "just bigger"...

Apple wins with the length versus girth argument.

I'm still rocking the 3Gs.....sure the 4 & 4s are better and faster, but I never felt the urge to switch....new iOS made the phone "new" every year or two.
However, now the phone is getting extremely slow, and the battery is finally starting to show its age.
That being said, the 5 is a huge leap from the 3Gs.....which is why I'm getting one.
That's kinda like my situation.

My 4 has become slow (and I'm guessing a clean install would help clean it up) waiting for the camera to open to get shots of the boys is PAINFUL. And sometimes the lag in opening apps kills me.
Not to mention some features of iOS 6 are crippled on the 4.
I'm happy and willing to make the upgrade. And I will start the 5 from a fresh install, not a restore.

Get sprint, enjoy the delay and sound quality of voice-over-ip. Better prices. My company has sprint, we all hate it
I have at&t, I don't like it either. Verizon is the best, but I'm not wiling to go the CDMA route... believe it or not, I love to talk and use my internet at the same time, it helps me in my business. Plus GSM and ability to add any sim I'd like when I travel = win.
But what I really don't understand is how the prices go up every year!!! instead of down, the technology is improving, and prices keep climbing higher.

If I preorder tonight (or early tomorrow), will I get the i5 on launch day?

Wish they would invest in a noise cancelling mic to record that...
If you preorder tonight, it should only start shipping on Sept 21...
Preorder saves you time and aggravation of waiting hopelessly in line
Did you figure out the sim card issue?
Miz said it comes with a sim card that I just have to activate??? NO? I never done a mail order, always in person, so I don't know...
And we also need to order this nonsense, right?

And I may need to get that adapter for my car charger with aux output.

Question:
If pre-ordering online tonight, will there be an option "to keep existing plan"?
Here's why I ask. I'm with ATT, and I'm grandfathered in with "unlimited data".
I want to make sure I keep that (I don't care about face time over LTE), and I don't want a tiered data plan.

I do always double check. But I've had the unlimited going on 6 years now. And that includes brining my wife onto my plan and her having the 3GB plan.

I hate this thing.
