In the US when you preorder, are you getting one on contract or unlocked?

 

can anyone guess what time tomorrow the preorders start? I have to do a 12 hour nightshift tonight until 7:30AM and I may need to set my alarm clock to wake me up before preordering starts...

So I called *639# and the message says 'As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2-year commitment and a $36 upgrade fee".

I'm guessing this doesn't mean I would have to pay that $250 that some are talking about?

Just log into your att wireless account, hit upgrade but yes, you'd only pay the activation fee plus the subsidized amount for the phone.

I still don't know if the iPhone 5 will arrive at my door with a nano sim card to which I can transfer my phone # from my current iPhone 4. I'm clueless about the process.

 

Yes it will. All iPhones come with SIM cards installed.

The transfer process is all via iTunes and the internet.

Pics and vids take up space.

Although I have been seriously considering sticking with the 32...hard to say. I'll know for sure tonight when I click the buy button...hundred duckets to double my space...

 

Pics and videos get offloaded. Music is streamed.

 

Pics and video for me, my phone wouldn't upgrade apps today, not enough room. And of course I do have a lot of apps.

 

I think double the space is worth $100. It's 32 more gigs.

I'm getting the 32. I had the 32 3GS and barely used any of it, so I got 16 on the 4. And checking now, I have 7gb free. Big thing is, I don't store any music on the phone. And I don't do much photos or video either - just snapshots really. So I'll be fine with 32 on the 5.

 

hmm I might be doing frequent panoramics though........

I don't. I find deleting the crap that I dont need once in a while is better.

 

I have very little music on my phone, I use a nano when traveling.

 

I stream when I can. I download some crappy music for the subway.

 

Music is currently streamed. I like to have the pics and video on my phone. I look at and watch the ones I take of my kids all the time.

I currently have a 32 with only 8 gigs free.

And like any computer I like to try and leave a 1/3 to 1/4 of the memory open for performance/reliability.

 

i currently have the 4 16gb and about have off the space used but with the 5 i am afraid that i might push it to the limits or even run out.

 

Sometimes, a lot of times, I'm somewhere where streaming just won't work.

 

It's only $100 more, get the 64gb!

 

What do you guys think? I said 64 but if I can save myself $100, why not?

96% of us on this page upgrade the phone as soon as the new one comes out. Im all about more space, but I never seem to hit the max before I get a new phone.

 

The only device that pissed my off with the 8 GB nexus 7 tab when I couldnt get a movie on it. Rooted it, got the mini USB to USB thing for 2 bucks and problem solved.

 

Right now, I don't have movies on my phone, I want to carry a few with me when I go on photography trips and video podcasts, I keep them off of my phone because I don't have the space.
