Audio Device Selection Won't Stay Fixed
I have had it with Apple, Acura and my iPhone 4! Ever since I upgraded from my 3GS, listening to music from my iPhone has been a huge hassle. If I stream through bluetooth, the audio controls work sometimes and other times they don't. No rhyme or reason. If I connect thru the dock connector, the audio will disappear and then I have to choose the Audio Device menu in iTunes to tell it to use the Dock Connector. Within 5 to 15 seconds, the audio will disappear again. I open the Audio Device menu again and I find that it has spontaneously switched back to HandsFreeLink. I can do this (and have!) a dozen times, but it will not stay on Dock Connector. It always switches back to HFL. I don't want to hear music thru bluetooth. The sound quality is inferior and the (intermittently working) bluetooth controls are not enough for me; I want the full music control thru the car's display. It's also dangerous to be messing with the iPhone's music controls while driving.
The only solution I've found is to turn off bluetooth on the iPhone, which makes it impossible to use as a phone while driving. This is simply intolerable and I can't believe Acura and Apple haven't figured this out. C'mon folks, it's 2010, not 1990.

What year Acura are you using?
All I know is on the 3GS and 4 using HFL I have an issue where if I dial a call it'll auto resort back to using the iPhone for communication not HFL.
Never had a problem with the original iPhone thou...

Could just be a faulty mic.
Actually what version OS are you using? Has it always been an issue? iOS 4.0 had issues that made me sound muffled.

Anyways whenever I'm on HFL people just tell me they can tell I'm driving cause of the road noise.

What is weird is that I had no issues on my original iPhone. I guess the newer Bluetooth module in the newer iPhones have some issue with whatever Acura uses...
I had the original iPhone as well and never had any problems with my HFL. I don't even use mine anymore. Honestly I try not to talk on the phone whatsoever while I'm driving.
Skyfire to Bring Flash Video to iOS Devices

Fortune's Michael Copeland talks to Skyfire CEO Jeff Glueck
CNNMoney.com reports that a new iOS application from Skyfire that converts Flash-based video to HTML5 has been approved by Apple and will go live in the App Store on Thursday. The app, which will be priced at $2.99, activates a function that allows Flash video content in the browser to be sent to Skyfire's servers, converted to HTML5, and sent back to the device for display.
The app won't translate games or other non-video content that runs in Flash, however. Still, Glueck estimates that the number of websites and videos that Skyfire will open up to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users is in the "millions."
As Apple has maintained its prohibition against Flash on the iOS platform, HTML5 has gained momentum, particularly in Web-based video. Even Adobe has demonstrated an early-stage tool for converting Flash projects to HTML5, looking to cater to developers attempting to create sites compatible with multiple platforms that do not always support Flash.

Too bad it's 2.99.
I hope the browser itself is good.
i think it's always been like this with iphone.. but my previous phone was little better, but still not as good as speaking into the phone's mic
Skyfire is a good browser...but either way I'll buy it.Worst case scenario, I browse with safari...when I hit a flash vid I want...switch over to Skyfire to watch the vid.
I've been reading so much. What are your opinions Tyler? What all do you do with your iPhone? I'm not into social networking much at all to be honest. Google Maps is a HUGE plus with Android but from what I can tell it is compatible with iPhone as well.
I got the original iPhone the 2nd day it came out and I can't see myself with any other phone. Of course there are some things that drive me crazy but that's how technology is nowadays, you've just gotta take it with a grain of salt (like my Grandmother would say).
The pros without a doubt outweigh the cons, but there are still cons. The biggest gripe I have about having an iPhone is the service, which falls more on AT&T's shoulders than Apple. Also my phone has been really laggy and I have to turn it off and on almost daily to keep it running fast. I'll be typing a text message and it takes over 30 seconds for the phone to realize anything has been typed, then all of the text appears at once.

No sir. I had two original iPhones (bottom half of the first one froze and was replaced by Apple) and now I have a 3G. I'm hoping to get the 4 by Christmas. Since my Nikon D60 doesn't take video, I want the 4 to use the 720p video recording.
That lag should improve a lot when you move to the 4.
I sure hope so. I noticed the lag after I updated to the 4.0 OS. I think Apple was too worried about packing everything into the iPhone 4 and forgot about the people with the 3G and 3GS who don't have the faster processor.
That's how technology is I guess

unless you cant for some reason, update to 4.1.
AFAIK its supposed to help the laggyness.
the 3G S doesnt have as much of an issue thou because it does have a faster processor in it then the original and 3G.

I'm running 4.1 and the laggyness is improved over 4.0, but it's still there. I knew I should have spent the extra $100 and gotten the S. Oh well.
No it's not, it's still pure speculation. Just like it's always been.
For some reason the NYT likes to come out every two weeks with more 'proof,' but it's still a load of horseshit until the day comes where a) Steve announces it, or b) it shows up on store shelves.
You will see a CDMA Apple product at some point. That's a given. But it's not a fact that it's coming to Verizon, and it's not a fact that it will show up in 2011 - especially the beginning.

most of rumors for iphone has been right. regarding the verizon iphone, it was just a speculation until they found out about CDMA testing done over in china. then WSJ reported about verizon iphone for 2011.
although, i do agree it's kinda iffy if iphone will come out in beginning of 2011, but i won't doubt the chance thinking they would release when the new version comes out.. some countries (ie korea) have started selling iphone in march this year with 3GS and iphone 4 later this year
word on the street is that apple is seeking dual mode (CDMA+GSM) solution..
who knows?? based on steve's announcement regarding white iphone, maybe that's the time when iphone will be introduced to verizon???
