Angry Birds was not even remotely as interesting as i thought it would be..... Im not a fan of this kind of game with progressing levels, similar to that stick figure game. my 4 yr old nephew loves em though. Im sure he would love this game.
I was addicted to Angry Birds but beat all the levels already. Now I'm addicted to World Series of Poker and Tower Madness. I got WSOP on special free and Tower Madness has a free version. Very addictive.
I downloaded the MGS ring. Since my wife watched me play the series I told her to call me and she was like Heyyy. So I answered "This is Snake"

I'm not buying it. I think you secretly like to level up. So much so that you apply that to real life. Ever upgraded to a higher model camera? Ever bought a new lens? Upgrading camera = finishing a level. Buying a new lens, that's a 1-up, mushroom, whatever you wanna call it.

of course I love leveling up. just not in the way of Angry Birds. I dont have patience for that kind of leveling up. CODMW2, sure, I have plenty of time. because my level-ups lead to more fun killing.
cameras, sure. because those upgrades lead to better pictures. so if they lead to things that I can enjoy MORE, and I also like doing it in the first place, then bring it on, level me up. the most addictive game I've encountered on iphone is Flight Control. I've played that for maybe an hour straight. The dynamic I like about that game is, the "puzzle" is never the same, the planes always come from different directions so every game is different. That's what I need. Same goes for COD, I only play online, because I need that dynamic. I didn't play the single-player missions, at all. No patience for those. I don't like playing a game that runs on a guided 'track'. Have I done it before? Sure, many many times. Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, etc. But I don't have the patience to do that on my free time nowadays. Is that ok?
I went into the thing where you can close running apps, and there were like 20 apps "running". Just from since Ive had the phone. WTF? I have to manually close them for them to "go away" from that space? idiotic.
wanna fight?

Also, if you're jailbroken... There's a way to customize backgrounding so apps use the native backgrounding on your call (using Backgrounder). I posted the thread a few pages back, but it's fairly simply to figure out.

hmmm i realized my push notification does not work (although i enabled them)
i have feeling it must be from restoring backed up data from iOS3.0 to iOS4.0 where backing up saved some of the junky contents downloaded by cydia
last time, i mentioned how i changed the carrier name using "make it mine" from 3.0 and when i restored into iphone 4 (before iphone 4 was jailbroken), carrier name was not the default AT&T one..
i read online that certain contents installed by cydia, when you remove it, it doesn't always remove 100% of the contents..
i guess next time i update my OS or get new iphone, i'm not going to restore but do a fresh start

I had those issues. That's why I did a fresh start for my 4.
Any it's why I won't jailbreak the 4.
I mean I backed it up before jailbreaking, but it ended up being months old, and I think iTunes deleted the backup because it was so old.
So whatever crap settings were left by jailbreak apps even thou I uninstalled, they carried over from 3.1.3 on the 3GS to 4.0 on the 3GS and over to the iPhone 4.

If my phone starts acting retarded then I just close them all and restart the phone. Probably have to do that like 2x a month. Maybe less.

i might just do 4.1 update now with the contacts if it's possible
i can really careless about all the installous apps since i can redownload at any time (though it could be time consuming and what not)
i mean.. why didn't they from the start?? sounds very obvious and simple implementation
I say that.
Or just only put apps in there that are actually doing something in the BG.
For fast app switching, does it really need to be in the multitasking bar?
Same goes with apps that don't even support any multitasking.

is there any ways to just sync the contacts and not do a full backup/restore process??

Retina display is talking about the pixel density. For apple it's >300ppi. No other smart phone has that right now.
Also it has afaik the highest resolution. And it's using a nice In plane switching (IPS) display. So that provides great color accuracy and good viewing angles.
If you compare the iPod touch with the 4. The iPod is using a TFT screen but has the >300ppi. But it doesn't look as good.
Ehh it's not the same.

Yea, probably not that obvious. And i think yours is AMOLED.
But yea there is alot of hype in apple products, but theyre not bad products at all.
And with the iPhone, you know you're getting a good phone

I've jailbroken and unlocked all three of the iPhones I've had, and I've never had a problem. I install way too much crap, but if I'm unaware if there are any compatibility issues, I research before taking any steps.
Jailbreaking doesn't cause issues. People not knowing what they're doing cause issues. Look at jailbreaking as the tool. That would be like blaming the hammer for the nails going in crooked.

one example of not completely removing contents when removing any apps
was going to update to 4.1, but the change list doesn't show much for 3GS other than gamecenter, so i just restored 4.0 and did a fresh restore (then jailbreakme, of course)
and now push works just fine
and now push works just fine
my jailbreak runs fine
nothing different about my phone's performance from the day i bought it...
its about knowing what to download.. and keeping track of the tons of shit most people download in a frenzy when they first JB their phone.
im on 4.0 and plan to stay there until major changes come along.

yes, jailbreak will run fine.
but my point is that certain contents does not get deleted completely, and if there is any compatibility issues over newer OS, it will cause some problem. ie my push notification.. some of the jailbreak content does get stored when you backup your iphone, and that can cause the problem when you restore to newer OS
oh.. and "push fix" or "push doctor" did not fix it.
Couldn't you restore the "AT&T" carrier name with MIM before syncing? I did, and when I synced my iPhone 4 to my 3GS backup, the AT&T carrier name was there. I also made sure I removed any of the Categories settings like "hidden icons", and SBSettings settings like "dock icons."
It's all about cleaning up after yourself if you plan to not have a jailbroken phone with you next sync.
