There is no official word, but the thing with Apple is that they are pretty regular about releases about all of their devices. They may have minor updates/revisions for their computers throughout the year, but the new editions of hardware are released regularly and the iPhone has come out every June/July since it was first released.

There is rumor that a revised iPhone is coming out in January 2011, but this one is for Verizon Subscribers so if you are already on AT&T and not planning on switching, it's a moot point.

Thanks for hoggin all the Dropbox referrals.

Dom, it's a cloud for free for 2GB which increases as you refer more people. I upload some videos I have saved on my laptop to watch in case I'm bored. Some people put up important documents in case their computer fails but I have those backed up.

They (Apple) has announced new Iphone hardware every year for the last 4 years at the end of June early July and shipped by September. It's a foregone conclusion that there will be new hardware this year, although it will likely only be small tweaks like the 3Gs was.

Dom get What'sapp messenger, then get it for your wifes BB. Free sms,mms chat like BBM except it's across mobile platforms. Best part is that it automatically adds people in your address book that already have it. No stupid pins to mess around with.

Ship by september? Did the iPhone 4 really only come out in September? I thought it came out in June?!?!?

Ah good point. Although Rogers does allow you to cancel the data plan.

When your phone arrives, go tot the app store and search for "NHL gamecenter". Very good app for the puck heads. Even if their team is teh suxor
Will do.

They didn't start shipping until Sept here and it is still basically out of stock. There is not much inventory kicking around at store level from what I hear.

SMS tone. Ringtone for when you get a text. Everyone has the same damn ones since Apple is adamant not to let you change it unless you jailbreak it.

How did your upgrade work? Like, they didn't have it in stock when you went, so did you do the upgrade and now you're just waiting for it to arrive at the store?

Every time I'm around a Rogers store I'll pop in and check to see if there's any 4's in stock...There never is, so if I can put my name on one before they arrive I'd do that...

I was on a corporate plan so I had to call rogers to change plans. They said I have to call every day and ask if its in . Makes no sense to me but he said ordering it and shipping when it comes in didn't work well with the 3Gs so they're asking people to either check their stores every day, or in my case call in. Said it should be about 2-3 days.

2 co-workers were checking with their store every day and it eventually came in, after a couple of weeks.

I really don't like this cat and mouse game Rogers/Apple is playing with us...All over a damn phone

Here's a brilliant idea... Carry enough stock to keep up with the demand

I don't think that's the issue here... Telus has them in stock, Apple stores have them in stock... Rogers stores are getting 5-6 phones every couple days... That's rediculous...

After years of avoiding it, last night I got the iPhone.

Now it's time to read this entire thread.

I spent all day yesterday playing on it, downloading apps, etc.

I'm amazed at the battery. Truly incredible when comparing to my Palm Pre.

A few more questions.

1. The iPhone (4) does consistantly update and let you know if you got an email or someone posted something on your facebook. I'm thinking of the min $15 data plan. Will that pretty much use it up? Let's assume I keep the phone on (stand by) 24/7.

2. Can I turn these auto update features off. And only update (my email notification) as I go into the email app? So I'm not using up my data plan.

3. A friend wants to sell me some iHome stuff and other docking things. They work great, etc, but he has a 3GS. Will the docking things work with the iPhone 4? Is it a direct fit and all the controls (volume, mute, etc) should work?

4. Do most of you get insurance on the phone?

Thank you.

She'll enjoy it. Now just be careful you guys don't buy duplicate apps. No point in spending double the money when only one purchase between devices is needed.

1. I've always had my notifications turned off so I don't know about data usage with notifications.

2. Yes you can customize which applications you receive push notifications for.

3. All of our docks work with my 4, my brother's 3GS and my sister's iPod touch.

4. AFAIK, AT&T doesn't offer insurance on for the iPhone but there are other places that do. I've never had insurance on any of my 3 iPhones.

That Radio Shack deal is sick. Get a 4 for $150. Trade in a 3GS for $125. $25 out the door.

Trade in a 3G and get $75. I think I'm gonna do it. I wanted to wait till June for the 5th gen, but for this price, nothing to complain about and at least I can something back for my old phone.

I'm fairly certain the $150 is for the 8GB iphone 4? correct?

The 3GS is for $49. So it's $150 vs $50. Which way should I go guys? 3GS works fine for my needs. New (4) is always better, right?

Keep in mind the trade-in is for a shack gift card....not cash....and the $50 discount shows up on your next ATT bill as a credit.
