I thank the AZ members that turned me to jailbreak my first iPhone every day even though I don't remember exactly who they are anymore.

Whoever you are!

With moderate use I can charge every other day. With heavy use I have to charge everyday. And if I'm really bored I can kill it in 3 hours.

Normally I only have to charge every other day, but I just pop it in my dock every night when I sleep.

I have a 3GS btw.

I also have all radios on. Wifi Bluetooth 3G and location services on. Brightness is around 50% on the slider and I have the auto setting off.

How the shit do you need to charge twice a day? I charge my iPhone overnight and when I wake up I unplug it and use it for whatever.

When I went on a road trip I turned off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and I was playing my iPhone with a tape deck adapter for 9-10 hours straight at 70% volume and I still had enough battery life to mess around on Safari with 3G internet for a half hour later that night and there was maybe 20-30% left. and I was playing games in the car/using the iPod functionality to choose songs, so the screen was on too.

Try going to the Genius bar? The guy made a comment that I was getting excellent battery life.

My 3GS lasts me two days while my 3G would normally last me a day.

I charged mine last night and it's at 61% as I post this.

I never leave my phones charge overnight, I heard it is bad for your battery.

Actually for lithium ion batteries, it is good to keep them fully charged. They lose more charge if they are depleted everytime

I don't let the phone die before a full recharge. I usually wait till it's under 10% before I bring it back to 100%.

it's a pain to keep having to go into the settings and turn it off, when a good number of apps rely on em and want to turn em on...

cool - thanks for showing me a real incentive to jailbreak... although I don't see myself ever doing it though. I would hate to break it. And also how would it work as far as my current info - does it still sync w itunes?

You won't break it man. It's really easy and has worked on thousands of iPhones already. And even if something does go wrong and the worst happens...just restore is through iTunes and start over. Worst case scenario, you are resyncing your music and apps.

All info will remain on the phone, syncing with iTunes doesn't change at all.

another thing - so you can easily go to the top of a web page by clicking towards the top of the screen... is there an easy similar way to get to the bottom?

JB apps don't get synced. They remain separate. The JB has evolved to the point where it will remember your JB apps and reinstall them if you need to jailbreak again, say when new firmware comes out.

They is no reason not to do it.

Nope, but if you JB you can DL an app called quickscroll that puts a scroll bar on the side of everything scrollable. You can then use your finger to quickly slide it all the way down with one swipe.

I clicked the Windows icon and got this....

ok.

before doing it though, is it *really* worthwhile to do it? what are your favorite things about doing it? I mean, what are the things which make you keep doing it to your phone? I need some more convincing.

Here is a screenshot of my phone with the quickscroll app on safari. You can see the scroll bars on the side an bottom than you can use to quickly navigate through scrollable apps.

No more having to swipe 50 times to get to the bottom of something. This works in all apps, including e-mail
