That whole intel-mac vs ppc compatibility still has me confused.

I finally gave up trying to figure out whether I could do it or not. I downloaded everything and jailbroke my 3GS as soon as I got it with my ppc mac no problems. Pwnage tool doesn't work with 3.1 on ppc macs?

Yea, but i think that due to the much smaller sample size, they use you guys as testers before releasing to Windows users. They would much rather fix a problem on that scale than if something happened to all the windows users. I'd wait until they release the final version, applicable to all jailbreakers.

Just my theory.

Yea, that's what I understand as well...iTunes has to "activate" MMS.

Just updated it. It said there was new hardware and then it updated in about 10 seconds.

I tried going to my texts, and going to my photos... no option of MMS

I wanted to show my iPhone-hating BlackBerry-owning Verizon-having brother.

my brother says to make sure you cycle power to your iphone. Then there should be an icon for taking a picture to send.

Supposedly AT&T is sending out mass text messages today regarding MMS and how to "set it up".....anybody get a text?

no text from att for me but I've sent two MMS so far. I tried to do a have that update the carrier file a few weeks ago and it sort of worked. I got the camera icon in the messages app but when I took a pic and tried to send it it failed. But it works now with the 5.5 carrier file.

so all you have to do is upgrade to 3.1 and that will update the carrier file as well? then mms will be activated?
iv'e heard alot of people having problems when they updated to 3.1 before today...

If you wife got it before July of this year and after June of last year then she has an iPhone 3G.

Also if her phone has the silver back then it's the original iPhone.

just got the text message from AT&T notifying me about the update, it even went as far as telling me that I'm on an unlimited texting plan (which I am) that includes MMS messaging.
