I preordered it the night they started. Its becoming harder and harder to wait.
sale to the public goes active on the 29th...
thats instant purchase power if you can wait 1 week.

if this is wrong info, please give me the correct date.
an apple "genius" told me this today when i called about purchasing in store. he said all phones that aren't pre-ordered are being delivered the morning of june 29th.
he also said that reserved phones are not guaranteed as its still a first come first serve event.. they only take reservations to know how many phones to order for release day.
i was told not to expect them to have any additional phones until that day.
i also remember my friend reserving a 3GS at the store and not getting a phone until 3 days later...

The Sidekick could be considered a smartphone. It could also be considered a toy. Which, compared to the modern offerings by multiple manufacturers, I consider it to fall under the latter. Any time I see one, I
That's a personal opinion, and I don't really care if it bothers you.
Re the card: I had a Blackjack, and a 8525 before the iPhone. Removable storage doesn't really interest me. As someone who's done it before, it's a hassle. Especially when you get to 3 or more cards.
'Wait, which card is this song that I want to hear on? This one? Nope. This one? Nope. This one? Nope...'
Am I locked into the same amount of storage for the life of the phone? Yeah. It might be a drawback for some. But if you're looking for a ton of storage for songs or movies, might as well get another device and have it with you at that point.

Macrumors reports that June 29th is only for AT&T stores, apple will have them on launch but of course long lines are expected.
This. I'll gladly sit on the sidelines for a couple weeks to avoid that. But I still wonder why the first batch gets shipped out on a Tuesday, and the next doesn't go out until the following Friday. Weird time lapse.
WTF. I had like 90something battery last night. Left the phone on my nightstand. Woke up late because didn't hear the alarm. The phone was off. Wouldn't turn on when I held down each button. Wouldn't respond to being plugged in through the computer nor the wall and I left charging for like 20 mins while I got ready for work. On the way to work, thinking I'd hit Apple during lunch, I hold down both buttons and the shit turns on with like 80something battery. WTF

Yes, you can certainly scratch the iPhone 4

Well, this is not encouraging. The photo you're seeing above is our leader Joshua's iPhone 4 review unit, snapped by Ryan Block just moments ago. Ryan pointed out that there are some nasty scratches on the back of the phone. While we don't have any better photos of it at the moment, Josh told us that they're hard to see unless in bright light, but they look pretty notable to us for a five day-old unit made of Gorilla Glass. We'll get some better photos for you as soon as humanly possible.

I didnt like how it worked on the back side of the 3g but on the screen a flat surface it was very very good. Iphone 4 being flat on both sides, nothing to lose. I remember it was coming off the corner but i dont think it will be the case this time. 16 bucks shipped, not bad imo.

Apple: white iPhone 4 not available until second half of July, 'more challenging to manufacture than expected'
Posted Jun 23rd 2010 2:20PM by Donald Melanson
Well, it looks like you can put those conspiracy theories to rest... or can you? Apple has just put out an official statement on the nowhere to be found white iPhone 4, which it now says will not be available until the "second half of July." What's the holdup? Apparently, the white models have "proven more challenging to manufacture than expected" -- but don't worry, Apple assures us that "availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected." Complete statement (which you've mostly just read) is as follows:
Statement by Apple on White iPhone 4
White models of Apple's new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
