Hopefully its just an isolated thing.
Again I learned my lesson with early adoption. I got the original iPhone early on since it was pre-ordered as a gift for me. It was a slow, buggy piece of shit. I waited 2-3 months to get a 3GS and it's been great. I'm not eligible for an upgrade anyway so I'm going to wait again after the next iPhone comes out.

what do you mean?
for apps that dont support it, when you close out, it closes the app like before.
the multi tasking list is just a list of apps that you have opened recently.
if the app supports fast app switching, you'll go right back to where it left off.

it eventually went to "searching..." and then switched to edge

suddenly my anticipation for my new phone has plummeted to a record low and now my iPhone 3g is looking better by the minute! They better fix this shit or have some sort of answer real fast!

don't be surprised though. This is just about par for every Apple product release. It looks really great when they announce it and in the reviews and then once it's released and people use it......reality hits

I thought phones were supposed to work when you hold it in your hand!? I thought that was a minimum requirement, and when a phone that is said to be the greatest mobile phone ever can't even pass the basic test of working while being held that that was cause for concern or even outrage.

umm yeah but you dont release a phone that doesn't work when you hold it in your hand. That's what's known as a showstopper bug, a bug that delays the release of a product until it's fixed.

just tried it with browsing websites, its actually quite amazing with loading a website.
as soon as i touch it, the site stops loading, and as soon as i let go it continues.
if buying a bumper will temp solve the issue, then i will just get one (even thou i was planning to anyways)

The current theory (or conspiracy theory) is that connecting the two bands on the bottom left is the culprit, and Giz is waiting on tests with the bumper on to see if it fixes it.
If it does, then hopefully Apple will start including the bumpers in with the product. Or someone will have the balls to sue them to do so.
It's just speculation at this point, but it seems plausible.
