I think I'll just hang on to my current OS for now.

I guess its a little faster, not worth having to reinstall all my apps and losing JB...

My iPad at work, my personal iPad and my iPhone all required the apps to be reinstalled.

 

Yep, when trying to sync the apps before, only a few went over. I know the JB ones wont, but the legit ones didnt either.

 

well what i did was i did a backup of my iPhone.

then i restored to iOS 5. and then told it to copy back my backup of my iphone when it asked me to set up the phone as either new or from a backup. so everything was intact including apps etc etc.


this was also back last week with the beta version of iTunes and the Golden Master of iOS5. dont know if that makes a difference.

 

anyways need to restart since i installed the final version of iTunes since the beta will expire.

and then turn on wifi sync. and iCloud.

 

It said it backed it up, and restored, but it lied.

 

I hate you can't put Newstand in a group folder, wtf.

 

I chose the whiskers option for this too.

well its because it opens up like a folder. so it would be like a folder in a folder which would lead to 1/0

i didnt have that problem when i upgraded to iOS5. i just had issues cause i ran out of hard drive space for the new backup it was creating

i have since deleted my backups for my 3GS and Original iPhone because i dont have the 3GS anymore and dont use my Original.

 

btw where do i tell iTunes to backup to a different location? my OS drive is too small to have it backing up there.

im serious! i only got an 80GB 10,000rpm hard drive for my OS, and when iTunes backs up my iPhone to the drive it eats up like 8gb.

and sometimes it decides to make multiple backups. so thats 8GB each.

now imagine if i went with SSD?


there is no option and as far as i can tell with my quick 5 minute google search. said i have to get some program called "junction" or something that tells the folder im saving my backup to, to actually redirect to the location of my choice.

^dude hook it up with that! In fact hook it up with all the MGS sound you have! I think I'll change my text to the codec one you gave me before once I upgrade my phone.

I just plugged it in w/ 70% battery and it started up.

Well it's about damn time we have customs text tones.

 

I had 0 problems updating my iPhone and Macbook, outside of the download delays. Everything is syncing to the cloud, this is suite!

 

Can't figure out what to do for text tones.

So many choices.

I've been using Super Mario Bros text tones. First I used the sound when you get a mushroom to get big. Now I'm using the 1up sound.

How do you ex iOS4 jailbreakers like 5?

 

iOS 5 does almost everything I wanted to do with my JB 4. Only thing really missing is SBSettings and changing up the look every now and again.

 

I only need JB for MyWi. Trying tethered JB today.

 

Anyone else NOT have the camera option on the lock screen?

No issue installing 5 here either. No need to re-install anything.

 

NM, have to double click the home button to get the camera to appear.

 

I like 5. I wish the lockscreen was better/more functional. I missing SBSettings and Lockinfo.. But the untethered JB will be out soon and Ill be happy again.

Excellent. I have been using the exclamation for texts and the codec as my ringer. They definitely get your attention. haha

Oh, and I'm expecting my 4S in the mail tomorrow.
