I know, I just was thinking they would stay on the lockscreen after unlocking and then relocking the phone. At least for the notifications I didn't check.

 

I wished they've actually implemented an LED for notifications. If you notice how neurotic we all are to check our messages by always turning the phone on and off.

RIM in this case is pure genius, but they suck now (always had BBs...)

^ not what I had in mind.... it flashes when you get something...useless to me... I want to leave my phone on my couch, and when I pass by it I can tell without touching it that I have a message.. like BB did.. with red led.

Need to get used to the flip down notification, or maybe change it back to the old style.

Also noticed a glitch when the flip down notification shows and I try to swipe open the notification center. A black bar shows up on the left side of the screen but then clears away.

That's been a missing item from the iPhone for years now.

No audible tone/visible notification for missed calls or messages.

Leave it sitting for a while...walk away, and you will never know you had a call/message unless you pick it up to check every time.

Annoying lack of feature that could be easily implemented....but no.

Lemme clarify this. The emoji icons show up perfectly fine on MY iPhone, but at the receiving iPhone the show a box. Like this 💩

Damnit why can't I add AppleCare+ still on the Apple store online. I would order without and add later but they don't allow that anymore.

I was finally able to pre-order the iphone at 6:30 am CDT. Apple store and att mobile was down when pre-orders were supposed to begin at 2 am CDT.

 

AT&T is driving me insane!

 

Just preordered through the ATT website for my GF (White 4gs). Went smoothly for me.

 

What's the expected shipping date? Any delays yet?

 

^ My expected delivered date is still 10/14... and I know I bought it pretty late. My confirmation page printout says I completed the order at 9:35 a.m. pst.

But you know, with that whole HP touchpad fiasco, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple/AT&T sell more than they can ship.

Edit: BTW, just a tip for those trying to upgrade added family lines, the Apple website wouldn't let me keep the 9.99 family addon price for my GF's line, it kept giving me a mandatory $50 voice plan. AT&T's website let me keep the existing line, and the only switch I had to make was from Unlimited Iphone Data Plan to the Unlimited Iphone 4s data plan... and they charged me $18 bucks for a one time upgrade fee, but what can you do.

 

My expected ship date is also Oct. 14. I read in the past that sometimes Apple pre-orders might ship a day early.

 

I'm about to pull the trigger on the ATT site but I want the AppleCare warranty. I've read around and it seems that I have to purchase the warranty WITH the phone at the same time. Is that correct?

 

When I ordered through AT&T, I did not notice anything about purchasing AppleCare. But, on Apple's support site there is a link where you can register a new agreement. Maybe that might work.

AT&T isn't going to sell Apple Warranty, they want you to buy their's.

 

Regarding Apple Care+. You can only get it through Apple however they are having problems with there system so you cannot even order it. However it appears when people call about this they are telling people you will be able to add it once the phone comes at for a few days only because of the glitch they are having.

Made an impulse buy this morning after I saw how much used iPhone 4s were going for on ebay. Couldn't resist...ordered a white 64GBer at 6AM eastern. Says it'll get here on the 14th. I really don't know why anyone wouldn't preorder. Standing in line for hours at the Apple/ATT store just does not appeal to me.

I looked into that (Gazelle) route. Can get more from selling on fleabay. Just have to deal with the hassle of listing it, dealing with scammers, etc.

 

I think they have purposely left this feature off...cant remember where I read it, long time ago.

Personally, I'm happy not to have it. I find it MORE annoying to have a little light blinking off. And when you are dealing with a million iPhones on film sets, thats the last thing you want, aside from forgetting to turn the ringer off.

Its no big deal to quickly check the save screen and toss it back in my pocket. Literally takes all of two seconds.
