No need to update to the latest version of iOS 4. I was on 4.3.1 and had no issues going to iOS 5. Make sure you don't click the update button though, in case you didn't see a few posts back, you must click shift (or option on the Mac)+restore (then select the .ipsw that you downloaded).

Shit. Only thing that isn't working is my personalized ringtones. I synced them but they aren't showing up in my ringtone list...

If I can ask a question like, "how many cups in a gallon" and the damn thing finds it, I will use it.
And as said, with hands free laws in more and more places, for me DC, Maryland and every military bases I go to. And no texting in Va.

everytime i restore it just eats up hard drive space and fails at the restore due to insufficient space and doesnt give me back the space.
so i move stuff around make room. try again, and then it just eats up my space again. its like at a pace of like 25MB/sec

It's worth getting early.
Finally got auto sync to work this morning. Clearly, there is a timer that doesn't initiate it after a sync has been done in a set amount of time before. Not a bad feature, actually. They still need to implement a way to add or remove songs with a wireless sync, but it's a start.

Are the 4S dimension specs somewhere, or is it the same size as the 4? I want to get some cheap docks off eBay, which usually ship direct from China... And I want to order soon.

Can you please let me know what docks you'll find, so far I have five that I cannot use because effen iphone 4 with a super slim case does not fit even if advertized to do so... All docks were Chinese @#$#@@
