Cool no more trolling (although I dunno if that was pointed at me)
I'm curious to know how the fingerprint sensor works. Since most fingerprint sensors I've seen either require a swipe or they look at your whole entire thumb. This just looks at a small portion. So if you're not getting the same area of your every time will it not work. And I'm not talking about being half off the sensor, but I forgot how big the home button is. Your thumb can be higher up I guess where the top gets cut off? I dunno. Guess we'll see when reviews come out.

the laptop has a skinny strip, you slide your finger on it....this has (almost like a) matrix where you just place your finger....if you have gotten your fingerprints taken (while applying for a visa/immigration reasons) you will see this have a ~2" screen where you place your finger and it scans it....the iphone just makes that technology smaller....
Today's results of after hours trading:

Don't look good. Really sucks too that the 5C in China is freaking expensive. I guess C really does stand for color and not cheap, after all like everyone speculated.

Ohhh right, I'll have to sync my device. Ugh no more HD space on my POS computer.
Damn small OS drive. Really wish I could move the iOS device backups to a different folder
Otherwise the upgrade will keep on failing

But I'm guessing the rumors of a constrained initial supply due to the touch sensor is the cause for this.
Thats the one big thing that bother me with apple...they manage to botch their rollouts.
Take this meaningless ramblings and go troll the apple stock thread.
I'll say it one last time...this happens everytime with new releases. And then it goes back up.
Keep on trollin
I THINK you can order it online on the 20th for pick up at a store..not sure.

Since probably the Iphone 3s, the argument started. No tech company will be on top all the time. Its a consumer market and a smartphone is 100% optional.

edit: I bet it doesn't work with a case on
Do you think the margins are higher for the 5C? I bet you stocks will go up once the next earnings show up. They're going to make so much more money on the 5C than by selling the 5 concurrently with the 5s.
This is how I see it. If you want a cheap iPhone, get an older generation. You're going to get most of the features still and its going to be good.
Selling the 5C will increase profits for apple for one main reason. Their margins on this phone will be higher on this phone will be higher than the 5. This phone I'm guessing is cheaper to make, and has the same internals as the 5. But its the same price as the 5 would have been unlocked or with contract when the 5s comes out.
Now apple sells the 5s, has their normal margins. They sell the 5C which has higher margins than the 5 would have brought them, and they keep the 4s.
Now when the 6 comes out, they will probably be selling the 6, 6C (5s internals with plastic body) and 5.
IMO its a clever way to boost profits. Which will get investors happy, if they haven't seen it already.

Not super impressed in the 5S. The 5C is lame.
I've had the IOS7 since the first beta in June or July IIRC. Its been glichy but now that I have the latest beta ( I think 5 or 6), its not bad at all. I can't live without that bottom pull tab for turning off/on wifi and everything. Brightness control is also awesome.
I won't be getting no 5S. Finger print scanner is cool though...wonder how that will affect longevity/screen replacements??

I won't be upgrading to 5S from my 5, it's pointless to me.
The fingerprint scanner, will it work like a password hub as well? Set it once and from that point on just sign in to all of your apps (banking, facebook, etc) just from a scan?

If the apps choose to build it in, I believe yes....because they said it will work like that for the itunes store.
Would you rather they just throw the parts they already have for the 4S in the trash? My guess is they have plenty in inventory and are just exhausting them, just as they have in the past. Nothing new. And if in the end it increases Apple's market share, it's a win. Either way, the 4S will be EOL in a couple years anyway, and those purchasers will upgrade, and most will upgrade to a new iPhone.

^^^ THIS
Also, apple keeps backward compatibility to couple years....for instance, if you have iphone 3/3gs, you wont be able to get on the ios7 band wagon....another good push for cusomters to upgrade their phones....
but am not sure if the iphone 4/4s will be able to make the most of the new ios....still, something is better than nothing

Anyone still rocking a 3/3G probably wants to throw it into a brick wall right about now anyway. There is a reason they dont want iOS7 on it...well at two reasons:
1) the hardware is powerful enough to take advantage of most of the software
2) of course they want you to upgrade
My 4 still works...but as OS updates and apps get bigger...it gets slower. I'm more than ready to upgrade.

i feel its a great update from iphone 4/4s....not sure about iphone5, unless you really gotta have the latest phone on the first day
