Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
This shit has lost it's damn mind! Once the direct download links became available that failed a bunch of times, so I ran some errands and came back to try again. I downloaded the iPad 3 wifi one it seems it finally completed (possibly failed at 99%), tried to update and says it's not compatible with my iPad.
Restart iPad yet again to check for updates and now it says 6.1.3 is the latest version and there's no newer updates available. The fuck!
Been trying to update this shit for three hours and it's failed every time for a variety of issues...

Yeah that's working out for them really well...
It's no iOS 3/MobileMe launch but you'd think after many years of this shit they'd have it figured out...
They brag during their keynote how they're the only ones in the industry who does it like this and then when they do users have to try over and over again for hours to get it to work.

They aren't patching a whole security hole in their OS, they are pushing out an optional update. People who can't get it done today will do it tomorrow. I don't think you can learn how to make a infrastructure that will handle the kind of load its taking right now.
Apple now allows App Store downloads up to 100MB over cellular in iOS 7—the limit was previously 50MB. Apps larger than 100MB must be downloaded over Wi-Fi.

forget the large backup files - just move your media files to an external drive.. then delete those media files from the phone, and do a backup.
So I just downloaded ios7 and it was installing on my phone until I got an error saying 'your iphone could not be updated'
now I have a phone with no ios on it and is basically unusuable? oh hell fuck no..

Apple issues internal high priority alert for iPhone activation server woes
According to a reliable source, Apple has sent out an internal P1 (high priority) alert notifying employees of server issues that are preventing customers from activating their iPhones, whether the device is brand new or recently restored. Compounding the problem are "other internal issues," though the exact nature of these complications is unknown at this time.
Since iOS 7 launched on Wednesday, Apple's servers have been bombarded with a deluge of users looking to update to the latest operating system, with many finding the activation service unavailable or otherwise unresponsive.
The alert failed to offer the exact number of users affected and did not give an estimate as to how long the activation server would be down.
Apple's System Status webpage shows all services are up and running as of this writing, though AppleInsider has received numerous reports that appear to corroborate the backend problems.

Anyone else having this issue with iOS7: After you make a call, and it connects, if you hit the lock button, it hangs up the call. iOS6 would simply lock the phone, not hang up the call. I found this bug with iOS7 Beta 6 and was told that it shouldn't be this way.
I rely on this feature for a few reasons and am annoyed that it isn't working.

Finally got through! IOS 7, here I come!
