I only jailbroke to hacktivate my original iPhone and install SBS settings to disable edge data.

After getting the 3GS and all the new software stuff that came out in OS3.0 I felt there wasn't a need for it.

Plus I don't like all the ghey themes that could change my phone to.

And if you jailbroke your 3G why didn't you turn on the battery % meter?

The themes are completely up to you to add. They never add anything for you.

I don't get it, you guys act like jailbreaking costs something.

It's free, it's completely harmless, and it's incredibly easy. All it does is open you a world of aaplications that Apple people don't want you to have.

Here are some links, but that's not the point. Jailbreaking solves the problems people have with the phone. For just about every complaint people have with it, jailbreaking provides a solution...

Don't like have to scroll to the bottom of a long webpage? Download Quickscroll

Don't like not being able to multitask? Download backgrounder

Want to be able to take video (non 3GS)? Doownload Cycorder

Want e-mails, calendar event, sms, weather, sports, ect. on your lock screen? There are tons for this, but try Intelliscreen.

Get my drift?

I don't have problems with any of that. That is, nothing related to any of that leaves me thinking "damn I wish I could _________". So I'll be saving myself the hassle and leaving it alone. Thank you!

Winterboard: Totally pimp out your iPhone! Want themes? Custom battery screens? Custom carrier logos? This program does all that and more. Absolutely essential for the jailbroken iPhone.

FontSwap is something I would do it for. I don't like the built-in (and unchangeable (???) font). Nice on the Blackberries where this is a built-in feature to choose fonts and sizes. But, not worth jailbreaking just for this one reason.

PDANet would be nice, problem is my iphone is like a laptop replacement for me now, I use it IN PLACE of my laptop - its fast enough to do it.

Backgrounder sounds cool but again I don't feel a longing for it.

I just don't want to do it because I have no need for it. My phone works how I want it too, no complaints other than some hardware issues.

Plus I like being able to update my phone right when the new OS' come out.

I shouldve just unlocked my 3GS being that it's set up for all my email and has a better camera and stuff.

I think when I get back home I'll jailbreak and unlock my 3GS and sell my 2G iPhone. (and over here they call it a 2G iPhone)

You should be able to.

IIRC, it prompts you before it syncs them. I sold my 3G and when I went to sync my 3GS, all my contacts were loaded into it; all my SMS messages was also synced. I have my contacts synced to my Address Book just in case.

would be cool. i could see an app that allowed you to copy and paste to the other apps, but unless there is an OS update it wouldn't be native.

Anything you want synced to your iphone has to be stored somewhere on a server. If you have a contacts management database compatible with the iphone/itunes, you will be able to resync.

^ I imagine we'll here something on the 27th during their media event.

I also doubt it will look like the gizmodo renderings...

Facebook 3.1 is out and it's awesome! Push notifications for everything and contact sync! Both are great! With Push Notifications I can now turn off email notifications which will greatly reduce my incoming email. Contact sync will sync profile photos from FB and use them as contact photos in Contacts and will add the link to their FB page to your iPhone contacts.

I am having some trouble with the push notifications though, I get the notification and open facebook app then click on my notifications list and the thing I was notified of is not there in the list, which means I can't see what it was I was there to see. I'm also not getting notifications in the main Facebook page on my PC. Anyone else see this? It's happened to me twice.

My GF and I just got 3gs' for the new year. Great phones. Tempted to jailbreak but afraid of bricking... eh. I'll consider it down the road I guess.
