Local pick up.

Not bad honestly, I listed it for 500 obo. Apple's re-use and recycle program offered $349...gazelle offered $294.

what do you guys use to watch videos?? VLC?? I need it for .mkv, .avi formats.

One thing i dont like vlc on mac is that on a dual screen, i cant have full screen on one screen.... it blacks out my other screen. Is there any other program that doesnt do this that can read those files?!

I'm thinking I may retire my aging iMac (basically same specs as Dave's) and invest in two minis. One to replace the iMac, other to replace the mini I have as my server. Probably get some SSDs for both, plop in 8gig of RAM for both.

Maybe a nice 24"+ monitor to compliment the iMac's second samsung monitor. Sell the iMac for a few bucks to offset the cost. Hmmmmmmmm

Don't the new Mini's come with a fusion drive which is a combo ssd + hdd that shows up as one drive?

They do, but only an option on the $799 mini and you add another $250 for fusion. Pass.

I'd have run both drives discreetly then rock the software based fusion stuff now that I know more about it...

I don't know if write capabilities to NTFS from mac have changed with Lion or Mountain Lion, but I've been using MacFuse + Tuxera NTFS which added the ability on my mac's to write to NTFS Partitions. http://www.tuxera.com/products/tuxera-ntfs-for-mac/

I don't know about writing to HFS from Windows.

Oops, should have read your email more closely. If you're installing OS X and setting up boot camp for her, then you'll need Tuxera NTFS to write to the windows partition from OS X; otherwise, don't know about needing to format the entire drive for NTFS. I've only ever installed windows via boot camp and I don't remember if during the install, if windows formats the boot camp partition to be NTFS.

are most imac consumers in the US? I could see it making see if that's the case. Doubt we'll ever see any of the High volume stuff being made in the USofA though. Just not enough labor available.

Guessing it'll be the Mac Pro. Low volumes, high margins.

I wonder what percentage of the contents will be US-made?

Most of the parts currently are Taiwan and China, nearly unavoidable.

It'll be the new iMacs.

Will definitely be watching tonight's episode of Rock Center.

Still working on some sort of iTV or new media device?

“When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years,” Cook told Williams. “It’s an area of intense interest. I can’t say more than that.”

Picked up one of these for one of my users:

It's so thin, it's as thin or thinner than our standard 22" HP LCDs--and it's an entire computer!

will be updating my DeployStudio to support this new hardware soon.

Its a 2010 core 2 duo with 2 GB ram and I bought the cheapest SSD which was 120GB, but it runs great. Im loving it, gonna get me a nice shell or case for it today.
